2 PROGRAMME The Spanish Language and Culture Curses are designed fr internatinal students intending t start r cntinue their studies at the Universidad Plitécnica de Madrid (UPM), r fr thse wh intend t spend a term/year at any Spanish University and need t have a previus knwledge f Spanish cmmunicative skills. The prgramme is a 4-week curse cvering Spanish language and cultural cmpnents run by PROLINTER-UPM during the mnth f July, cmbining language and culture face t face lessns with utdr cultural activities The prgramme includes: Spanish Language curse run by experts in Spanish cmmunicatin skills. Sundays.- Clsing Ceremny METHODOLOGY The prgramme applies the Blended Learning methdlgy, which cmbines classrm face-t-face tuitin with individual and grup activities via the AVE nline prgram (Virtual Spanish Classrm frm Institut Cervantes) DURATION One mnth curse: 120 hurs (4 weeks), rganized as fllws: Spanish Language and Culture lessns: 60 face-t-face hurs Team wrk tutred activities: 10 hurs Online language learning activities t merge the acquired knwledge (self-study and/r tutrials): 30 hurs Outdr cultural activities: 20 hurs.

3 LEVELS The curse ffers the fllwing levels accrding t the Cmmn Eurpean Reference Framewrk fr Languages (CERF): A1 (Breakthrugh) A2 (Waystage) B1.1/ B1.2 (Threshld) B2 (Vantage) Students will be required t take a level test at the start f the curse. TIMETABLE Lessns will be run frm Mnday t Thursday: 9:30 11:30 - Spanish Language face t face sessin. 11:30 12:00 - Break. 12:00 14:00 - Spanish Language face t face sessin. 14:00 15:00 - Lunch and free time fr individual r team wrk. 15:00 17:00 - AVE nline tutred activities. VENUE Classes will take place at the UPM Campus in the city center, at the Escuela Técnica Superir de Ingeniers Industriales and/r in the Escuela Técnica Superir de Ingeniers de Minas y Energia. CULTURAL PROGRAMME The Cultural Prgramme is scheduled mainly n Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays. Cultural cntents include: Guided cultural walks arund the mst singular and cultural areas f Madrid dwntwn: Cathedral, ancient heritage Churches, Museums, the Ryal Palace, UPM Museums, Art Galleries, etc. Day trips t sightseeing attractins in the nearby areas f Madrid. Analysis f Spanish steretypes and custms. Spanish film screenings (subtitles in Spanish). Tendencies in Spanish cntemprary art painting. The art gallery is the fruit f a dnatin f ver ne hundred paintings and sculptures dating frm the 16 th t the 20 th centuries t the Fundación Gómez Pard t further enhance the humanities educatin f the Schl f Mining engineers. MINING HISTORY MUSEUM The Dn Felipe de Brbón y Grecia Mining Histry Museum watches ver a vast testimny t Spain s and Eurpe s rich mining histry frm the 18 th century nwards and als t the cnnectins between the Schl f Mining and mine wrkings.
