2 ei ei eat's social-mobile platform connects the people and places in the local food ecosystem from coast to coast. It's foraging at your fingertips! No more jumping from app to app, ei ei eat makes it quick easy for consumers and wholesale buyers to source and verify what's local - raw ready or served. ei ei eat's demo will be released to local food businesses this fall in preparation for public launch in April ei ei eat is spearheading The Students4Soup Challenge, to promote buying local, stimulate demand for local food and build brand awareness. The Students4Soup Challenge presents an exciting Partnership opportunity for stakeholders who share our commitment to sustainability and the promotion of local food to get involved in the fun and excitement of the challenge and reap all the promotional benefits that come with an event of this calibre. What s the Students4Soup Challenge? WHO Up to 25 teams of 2 to 4 secondary students enrolled in the Simcoe County District School Board or The Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board WHAT Teams must create an original soup made from no less than 60% locally sourced ingredients WHEN Registration will open on November 1st with final judging on December 5th. This event will be rolled out across Canada in the fall of 2015 WHERE Semi finals will occur at the local school level followed by a final competition, hosted by the Culinary Program at Georgian College WHY Who doesn't love soup?! And the best of the bunch start with fresh, local ingredients. Teens are a powerful sector of our population with influence on household food purchases and incredible social media reach. The Students4Soup Challenge is a unique and engaging opportunity to connect secondary students with their local food supply to promote not only the health and economic benefits of local food, but exposure to potential career opportunities in the food industry.

3 The Win All of our finalists receive a cool bag of swag, including an official Students4Soup apron and Georgian College hat. As if winning isn't enough, our top three competing teams will take away a wonderful prize pack including: Winner s soups will be featured on the menu of local area restaurants for one month! Recipes published in the Barrie Examiner $50 gift certificate for each team member from the restaurant serving your soup The silver ladle award engraved with the names to be added to your school's trophy case. $1000 scholarship to Georgian College Culinary Program* A set of Professional Knives for each winning team to be donated to their respective winning schools* Market Reach *Partners pending The Students4Soup Challenge has a well crafted marketing plan that will directly engage a number of key cohorts in the local food ecosystem: Participating high school students & their families The supporting schools - staff & students Producers & retailers of local food Partnering restaurants & their patrons Culinary faculty & students from Georgian College The broader public through pertinent media coverage The 2014 event in Simcoe and Muskoka in 2014 is a pilot so the event can be fine timed for a full roll out across Canada in fall of Event Promotion ei ei eat s team assembled a highly experienced team of PR and Media Strategists who will leverage every opportunity leading up to, during and following the launch to build excitement and maximize reach, both regionally and nationally.
