But nn-prfits are als an integral part f the ecnmic well-being f ur state and natin. New Jersey nn-prfits: Emply 314,000 peple nearly 10% f the state s private wrkfrce and mre than cnstructin, finance, insurance and many ther large cmmercial industries. Spend ver $37 billin annually much f it within the Garden State. Marshal the energies and talents f 1.5 millin vlunteers every year. There s n dubt that ur plicy, legal, and philanthrpic landscapes are shifting. Organizatins that are prepared t navigate change and transitin whether unexpected r purpsefully planned - will be better equipped t influence change and adapt as needed. Including stakehlders f all stripes, using effective cmmunicatins fr change, and frging strng and diverse partnerships are just a few f the strategies needed fr strength, impact and sustainability. The cnference will cver a wide range f tpics that nn-prfit rganizatins must face, individually and cllectively, in rder t practively chart their wn future. The Center s annual statewide cnference cmbines inspiring and thught-prvking plenary sessins with cncurrent breakut sessins that ffer a wide array f big picture and hands-n tpics relevant t facing tday s issues and tmrrw s challenges, with easily applied take-aways fr participants. Our 2015 cnference, attended by ver 400 peple and widely praised fr its breadth and cntent, featured internatinally recgnized speakers as well as experts in a variety f fields pertinent t nn-prfit peratins. The cnference was prmted bradly thrugh direct mail and electrnic utreach t ver 4,000 rganizatins as well as in the mass media, the Center s website, scial media and multiple ther venues. We expect ur 2016 cnference attendance t tp 450 nn-prfit decisin-makers and champins.
