Name and link in Highlights, BCPL's mnthly electrnic electrnic newsletter, distributed t ver 100,000 peple via frm January t May 2016.* Lg n all printed materials. Lg placement at BCPL s 19 branches in March May Acknwledgment in datelines, the library s quarterly printed calendar f events and newsletter. Lg and link n the Fundatin's website. By becming a restaurant spnsr fr the 2016 Taste f the Twn, restaurants agree t prvide: A minimum f tw (2) fd items guaranteed t serve 400 peple, r enugh fd t last fr the entire length f the event (4 hurs). 7 Overview f the Fundatin fr BCPL Our Missin The Fundatin fr Baltimre Cunty Public Library mbilizes resurces t supprt the library's cmmitment t a superir public library system where pprtunities fr literacy, reading enrichment and lifelng learning are available t all. Our Objectives T prvide funding fr prjects that encurage children and yung adults t cultivate a lifelng enthusiasm fr reading and learning. T act as advcates fr the library t ensure that library services cntinue n int the future. T raise funds fr specific prgrams r prjects that enhance system-wide Baltimre Cunty Public Library gals and bjectives. Majr Initiatives and Prgrams Rsedale and Stryville@Wdlawn are interactive early literacy learning centers designed specifically fr children ages birth t 5 and their parents and caregivers. Stryville@Rsedale pened in February 2008 n the eastside f Baltimre Cunty and was made pssible with funds raised by the Fundatin fr Baltimre Cunty Public Library. It recrded ver 50,000 visitrs in just its first eight mnths f peratin. Recgnizing the success f Stryville@Rsedale, Baltimre Cunty gvernment agreed t fund a secnd Stryville n the westside f the cunty. The Fundatin fr BCPL als cntributed funds tward the cnstructin f this new Stryville. Bth Strvyilles include develpmentally apprpriate bks and activities fr children ages birth t 5. The envirnments and activities in bth Stryvilles are specifically designed fr caregivers t help their yung children enter schl ready t learn. The Fundatin fr BCPL cntinues t raise funds t supprt nging maintenance, repairs and replacement csts f bth Stryvilles. READ ROVER PLUS supprts BCPL's missin t fster a lifelng lve f reading in children. This is accmplished thrugh mnthly visits t licensed day care prviders. Each mnth, Read Rver Plus staff perfrm a stry time and help prviders check ut materials. The stry time prgrams incrprate pre-reading skills which prepare the children fr entering schl. Als, ur strytellers mdel successful techniques during the prgrams t teach day care prviders imprtant early literacy skills that they can then share with the children and their parents. MY FIRST LIBRARY CARD is a prgram that prvides library cards fr children ages birth thrugh kindergarten in all library branches, and thrugh cperatin with varius preschl prgrams and Baltimre Cunty Public Schls. The Fundatin fr Baltimre Cunty Public Library purchases backpacks that are given t children the first time they use their card. TEEN PROGRAMS at BCPL are designed t engage teens with their peers and library staff while prviding a safe envirnment fr learning and scializing. Prgrams range frm educatinal including writing wrkshps and tutring sessins t entertaining, including pen mic nights t vide game cntests. GENERAL LIBRARY SUPPORT allws us t meet the library needs as they arise. These dnatins give the library the flexibility t respnd t emerging needs that were nt identified prir t the cunty budget prcess r t special pprtunities that arise after the budget year begins.
