1 Chalkable Classrm Lessn Plans Creating a Lessn Plan Lessn Plans are created as items in Chalkable Classrm. Nte: Lessn plans were created as activities in InfrmatinNOW Grade Bk. Refer t the Chalkable Classrm - Teachers Helper Quick Reference Guide fr tasks that can be cmpleted in InfrmatinNOW and/r Chalkable. T insert a new lessn plan in a grade bk: Lg in t Chalkable Classrm. New Item: Select New Item frm the menu n the left. Class: At the tp f the screen, select the class sectin t which the lessn plan is t be added. Nte: The Chse A Class ptin may nt display after the user has first accessed New Item. The new item screen will display autmatically. The last class that the user had selected will be selected by default but the user may select a different class frm the available list abve. 2 Add Item: The Add Item screen will display. The class name, number and sectin appear at the tp. Select the Lessn Plan tab. Class/Sectin: Displays the name and curse/sectin number fr the currently selected class. Ex. Item Name: Enter the brief name f this item that appears in blue in the feed. Categry: Select the categry frm the drp-list. Categries are created under Settings Setup Select Class Categries. Brief Descriptin (Assignment): Enter a brief descriptin f the lessn plan. Inbx: Select the inbx icn t see the last items that were added fr this class. Select ne t cpy the descriptin t this new item. Nte: If using Chalkable Study Center, check with the schl/district fr any established naming cnventins fr shared lessn plans. Fr example, a 4 th grade math lessn n imprper fractins might be titled 04 Math Imprper Fractins. Imprt: See Imprting Frm Lessn Plan Tab n page 9 fr mre details. 3 Start/End Date: Defaults t tday s date. Select the date range ver which the lessn plan will ccur. Chalkable autmatically determines the grading perid fr the lessn plan based n the date selected. Advanced Optins: Hide Frm Students: Defaults t N. Select the circle t change t Yes if this item is t be hidden frm student view. Class Discussin: Study Center users nly. Select t allw nline class discussin fr this assignment, lessn plan r supplemental activity. Preview Cmments: The teacher must first preview student cmment(s) and mark them as visible in rder fr ther students t see. Require Cmments: A student must first submit a cmment befre they are able t see ther student s cmments. Add t Lessn Plan Gallery: Study Center users nly. Check Public if this lessn plan is t be added t the public lessn plan gallery. Add Attribute: Add an attribute t the item such as an bjective. Chalkable_ Chalkable Classrm Lessn Plans 3

4 Attach: Add standards, files and mre. Uplad tab: This tab displays by default. Drag/drp a new file t the square t attach a new item such as a dcument t the item r select Chse File t navigate t a file lcatin Once the file is attached it will display at the bttm f the tab. Select the red X t remve the attachment. Cntinue t drag/drp files r use Chse File t insert mre files. Upladed tab: Previusly referred t as the filing cabinet. Access files that have been attached t items previusly. Muse ver the file t be attached and chse Attach t add t the item r select Duplicate t create a duplicate cpy f the file and add t the item. Standard tab: Open the standard tree and attach curse standards t this item. Apps tab (Study Center users nly): View apps that can be added t the item. Assessment tab (Study Center users nly): Attach an assessment t this item. Ggle Drive tab: Cnnect t Ggle Drive. Select Cnnect With Ggle Drive. Enter the Ggle user name and passwrd. Chse t Allw access between Chalkable Classrm and a Ggle Drive. Chalkable Classrm will be synced with Ggle Drive. Files and flders frm the Ggle Drive will display. If the user lgs ut f Ggle drive they will need t lg in again. My Drive: View all files in the Ggle Drive. Shared with me: Select Shared with me t view shared files. Change Accunt: Switch t a different Ggle Drive accunt. Drpbx tab: Select t attach an item frm the user s drp bx accunt. Select Submit t save the item r Discard t clse the screen withut saving. 5 Lessn Plans in the Feed A lessn plan will display in the feed much like a graded item (activity). The MIN and MAX date range alng with the name f the lessn plan and class name/number is als displayed. The graphic indicates green if the date range is current r in the past. Any days remaining n a lessn plan that have nt yet passed will display in red. Future lessn plans will display fully in red until at least sme f the lessn plan dates have ccurred. Cpying/Imprting Multiple Activities Users may cpy/imprt multiple activities including lessn plans frm ne class t anther. All Attributes, Shrt and Lng Descriptins, Due Date, Max Scre, Standards, and Advanced Optins will be cpied. Cpying Frm the Feed, select the class where the lessn plans have already been created. 6 The new Cpy ptins will display. All Tasks: Place a check in the circle t the left f each lessn plan r activity t be cpied r select All tasks. Cpy t: Select the drp dwn and chse the class t which the lessn plans/activities are t be cpied. Date: If left blank, the first date f the grading perid will be used. Users may als select a different starting date t be assigned t items. When the activities are cpied, a new start date will be assigned based n the selected start date and based n dates that are marked as instructinal. Dates in which the sectin meets are als cnsidered. Fr example, if a user cpies activities dated 10/1, 10/4, 10/10 using a starting date f 2/2, the due dates fr the cpied activities will be 2/2, 2/5, 2/11, assuming all dates are instructinal and dates are valid fr the term that the sectin meets. Select Cpy r Cancel. Nte: Fr Study Center users, apps will nt be cpied with the activities currently. Imprting Users may nw imprt lessn plans frm a different academic sessin/class. All Attributes, Shrt and Lng Descriptins, Due Date, Max Scre, Standards, and Advanced Optins fr the selected activities will be cpied. Select New Item and select a class t which the lessn plans are t be cpied. Select the Assignment tab r the Lessn Plan tab. Activities and lessn plans can be imprted frm either tab. 7 Nte: Frm the Lessn Plan tab, Study Center users will have an additinal ptin t select Frm Gallery. Imprting Frm Assignment Tab After selecting a class, frm the Assignment tab chse Imprt. Select the academic sessin and class frm which t imprt. Place a check next t the activities r lessn plans t be imprted. In the Start Date field, enter the starting date t be used when imprting the activities/lessn plans. The prgram will assign dates t each activity based n days that are marked as instructinal. Fr example, existing activities are dated Mnday thrugh Friday with the dates f 4/5, 4/6, 4/7, 4/8, 4/9. They are cpied with a starting date f 5/4 which is a Wednesday. The cpied activities will be assigned dates f 5/4, 5/5, 5/6, 5/9, 5/10. Since 5/7 and 5/8 are weekend dates, they will be skipped. Chalkable_ Chalkable Classrm Lessn Plans 7

8 Nte: If the Start Date field is left blank, the grading perid start date will be used. Select Imprt. A message will display that will allw the user t view imprted items in the Feed. Select the message. The imprted items will display with a green bx. Nte: When the user navigates away frm this screen, the green bxes will be changed t the nrmal gray clr. 9 Imprting Frm Lessn Plan Tab After selecting a class, frm the Lessn Plan tab chse Imprt. Frm Previus Year Imprting frm previus year is the same ptin as selecting imprt frm the Assignment tab. 10 Categry: Chse a categry frm the list t filter the gallery belw t lessn plans frm a selected categry. Newest Upladed: Chse t rder the list belw by Newest Upladed r Oldest Upladed. Search: Enter criteria t search fr a specific lessn plan. Hver ver the lessn plan t be imprted and select Open. The lessn plan will be imprted frm the gallery. Make any desired changes and chse Save.
