6 Hide Student Names: This ptin will hide student names frm printed grading listings. Fr example: If grades are t be printed and psted in the classrm fr students t view, the student names will nt shw; instead, students will be identified by Student Number. Include Withdrawn Students: Check this bx t shw students wh were in class fr nly part f the selected grading perid. Display Ttal Pints: Check this bx t display the ttal number f pints accumulated by students. This is nt available if either Categry Pints r Categry Average is selected as the Averaging Methd. Display Student Averages: This ptin will allw an average t display n the Scres tab f the Grade Bk. The average that is displayed is cntrlled by the graded item that is marked with GPA Pints in the Grading Perid Setup. Display Letter Grades: Check this bx t display a clumn that shws the current Letter Grade fr the Average. Nte: This may differ frm what is actually psted t a student s grade file due t runding. The grade psted is nt runded, whereas the average n the Scre tab is runded t 2 decimal places. Als, if n letter grade is displayed, cnfirm that the numeric value is defined within a valid alpha grade n the scale. Display Maximum Scre: Check t display the ttal pints pssible fr each activity as part f the activity clumn heading. Averaging Methd: See the sectin Averaging Methd Examples n page 48 fr detailed examples f each averaging methd. Chices include: Nte: The schl has the ptin t set the averaging methd fr all classes. If the user is unable t select an averaging methd, check with the prgram administratr t see if this ptin has been lcked by the schl. Pints: When averaging by the Pints methd, the average is calculated by dividing the ttal amunt f pints the student has earned by the ttal pints pssible. Example: 932/1000 = Average: When averaging by the Average methd, each individual activity is averaged, and then all the activities are averaged tgether t btain a single value. Example: 91/100=91.0, 48/50=96.0, and 23/25=92.0. The Average is then calculated by averaging all activities; 91.0, 96.0, and 92.0 = Categry Pints: When averaging by the Categry Pints methd, the average fr each categry is calculated as with the Pints methd, and then a percentage is applied t the categries t determine the average. Example: A categry named Test will represent 60% f the students grades and a categry named Hmewrk will represent 40% f the students grades. Determine the Test average via the Pints methd frm abve, using ONLY the Test categry fr the ttal pints earned and pssible (All Tests = 273/300 = 91.0). Determine the Hmewrk average by the same methd (All Hmewrk = 659/700 = 94.1). T apply the percentage, multiply 60% times 91.0 = 54.6, and 40% times 94.1 = 37.64; then add the prducts tgether ( = 92.24) is the average fr this example. Categry Average: This average methd is calculated the same as the Categry Pint methd. Example: Average the Test categry ( = 93.5) and average the Hmewrk categry ( = 92.5). Apply the percentage 60% times 93.5 (56.1) and 40% times 92.5 (37.0). The average wuld be the sum ( ) = Student Srt by: Selecting ne f these ptins will rerder the students n the Grade Bk screen. Generally, srting by Student Display Name is used. Optins include: Quick Ref Chalkable_ InfrmatinNOW fr Teachers Classrm Grade Bk 6
