Number 12 9th December 2011 As we fly towards the end of term, we seem to have more and more things happening in Early School and Nursery. This week we have enjoyed our annual Christmas performances for both Nursery and Early School. I think you will all agree that the children s performances were quite remarkable. It always amazes me how professional they are at such an early age. I hope you all enjoyed them as much as I did. My thanks to the staff for their dedication, hard work and enthusiasm putting these productions together. The teachers and children enjoyed sharing their lessons with the inspectors. Next week, we are all very much looking forward to the Early School Christmas party on Thursday, especially the visit by a certain gentleman in red! We are also excited about our end of term assembly. The Training Orchestra is going to play for us to mark the end of a lovely term. Singing Sensations will be around the tree, giving us a rendition of festive songs. I can t wait. I hope you all have a relaxing weekend with not too much shopping! The Nursery children have worked so hard to learn the words to all the songs for their nativity, "It's a Baby". They have also had to find their extra 'big' voices to sing over the sounds of the diggers in the garden! Well done, everyone.

4 Oh what a night! It was a great start to the festive season. The marquee had been transformed into a beautiful winter wonderland by members of the YPSSC. Chef Martin wowed us with a lovely festive feast and the band, Synergy, had us all dancing the night away. There were amazing prizes for the raffle and the auction. Many thanks to Charles Clinkard who made a wonderful auctioneer. Thank you again to all the parents who kindly donated prizes. We are still totalling the amount raised for our chosen charities, The Great North Air Ambulance and Daisy Chain. Look on the website for more photos of the night Early School Christmas Party On Thursday afternoon, the Early School will be enjoying their Christmas Party including a visit from a certain gentleman dressed in red! Children may bring smart home clothes to change into before the party in the afternoon. (No frilly party frocks or football strips, please). Early School and Nursery Christmas Performances DVD Orders Karen Waite of Moving Memories kindly offered to record our Christmas Performances on DVD. The DVD costs just 15. To enable us to get them to you before Christmas we must have received yyour order form no later than Monday 12th December or contact Mrs Thompson. Uniform Shop Opening Times The Uniform Shop will only be open on Tuesday, 20th December between pm during the Christmas Holidays. Phoebe North BIRTHDAYS!! Light refreshments will be served. We look forward to seeing you there. GUINEA PIG S CHRISTMAS HOLIDAYS Peppa and Pig are looking for a loving home over the Christmas holidays. If you would be able to offer them accommodation, please contact Miss Hall as soon as possible or her at rh@yarmschool.org. Polite Reminder! No lunch time or after school clubs next week.
