3 Let s Talk Curriculum Night Parents, siblings, family friends, and mentors are all invited to attend our first Curriculum Night & Principal s Chat! Come and see a few short student presentations that will inform you of some of the key ideas students are interacting with at school. The purpose of these presentations is to enable families to make real -world connections between the curriculum and their own family and community. This event helps families to bond, bridging the gap between busy lives as families are empowered to engage in discussions and observations of the world that relate to school. Research shows that at-home (or in-the-car!) involvement in school is the single most effective way families can support their student s academic achievement. Additionally, Mrs. Powell will be inviting families to share ways in which they have successfully engaged their students at home, followed by an open forum for asking questions and seeking advice from each other regarding some of the hurdles in communicating with teenagers. Date: Wednesday, October 14 th Time: 6:00-6:30 p.m. Location: TR-4 Principal s Chat The Principal s chat follows directly with a relaxed open-forum style discussion where parents and families can share experiences, suggestions, concerns, and ask questions regarding to the school s principal, Mrs. Delery.
