2 Firewalk Thursday 14 November Have you ever tried something daring? Put yourself to the test and walk on sizzling hot coals, join the Firewalk at West Herts Sports and Social Club, 8 Park Avenue, Watford WD18 7HP. Entertainment, a BBQ and the support of other firewalkers will be available. 6.30pm registration. Firewalk 8.30pm. The Holy Rood Social Club, Tolpits Lane, Watford. Tickets Air Guitar Competition Tuesday 19 November Unleash your inner rocker! The Horns Pub, Watford from 7pm followed by local band Kid at The Back. 3 My Local Hero Friday 29 November This annual event recognises the unsung heroes in our community. 5 Jingle Bell Drop Christmas Abseil Saturday 7 December intu Watford (formerly Harlequin) 10am - 5pm. How about abseiling down the side of one of Watford s most recognisable landmarks in fancy dress. Whether you re a fearless Father Christmas or a racy Reindeer this event will get you into the Christmas spirit! Registration fee is 25 and you will need to raise a minimum of 75 in sponsorship for the Hospice. 6 Pounds for Pounds Weight Loss Challenge Starts January 2014 We re looking for 30 people who want to lose weight and feel great by taking part in our 12 week Pounds for Pounds programme. We ll provide you with gym access, personal trainer sessions, nutrition advice and weekly weigh in sessions. In return for taking part in the 12 week programme you will need to raise a minimum of 400 in sponsorship for the Hospice. Setting off from the Peace Hospice you ll be navigating your way along footpaths, country lanes and bridleways all in the dark! Registration is 25 per person. 7 Further AHEAD The Great Hospice Bake Off Heats to be announced early 2014 If you like baking then you ll love this something to keep you busy during the winter months! Up to 28 teams will be taking to the water to compete in a series of races to be crowned Peace Hospice Dragon Boat champions. Rides, stalls, food and family entertainment throughout the day.
