From seminars and conferences to providing space for training and corporate hospitality, the University has a range of modern academic spaces at our two sites in Ealing and Brentford, which make up the West London campus. Both sites are ideally located with excellent transport links to central London and along the M4 corridor. The multifunctional university buildings also allow us to offer a wide range of specialist facilities to hire by local groups, adult education, businesses and summer schools. 4 WEST LONDON CAMPUS Ealing Site Despite being one of London s largest boroughs, Ealing has a distinctively green and leafy environment with more than 1,900 acres of park and open space. It is just 30 minutes on the Underground from Central London or 10 minutes by fast train to Paddington, with its huge range of theatres, cinemas and other entertainments. The site is just 20 minutes from London Heathrow International Airport. It is served by fast rail links from Reading and London, and has excellent local bus services. Ealing is easy to reach from all London Underground stations. Ideally located in St Mary s Road, the academic building offers flexible space for a range of event types. The building is multifunctional, offering event organisers a range of facilities, including training areas, meeting rooms and conference space. Where location is a top priority the Ealing site is the perfect choice. Ealing s central location and wide range of transport links provides easy access to destinations across London and beyond.

5 Rooms available for hire To reflect the individual nature of the rooms we have a range of packages to suit all events and budgets. Lecture theatres - seating up to 250 people, fully IT equipped. The purpose built lecture theatres have excellent acoustics and quality audio visual equipment. Experienced on-site technicians are always nearby to assist with your technical needs. A range of classrooms that can be set-up as meeting, training or seminar rooms. The room capacities ranges from depending on set-up. All are equipped with IT, audio visual equipment, whiteboard and flip charts. Catering Refreshments, buffets and receptions can be organised adjacent to rooms or within exhibition areas. The Street is an open area that can be used as a meeting point or lunch area. Two award winning restaurants FEAST and Pillars are located on-site.

7 Paragon is situated in Brentford and pushes the boundaries in terms of both quality of design and building excellence. Paragon s striking glass academic building, at the forefront of West London s regeneration, has quickly become a familiar landmark to those who live and work in the local area, and offers panoramic views across the London skyline. It is a perfect choice for organisers seeking a venue which can provide a plenary room, exhibition space and workshop rooms all under one roof whether for day or residential events. There is the opportunity to use break-out rooms. A large concourse area adjacent to the main entrance is ideal for registration points and exhibitions. Paragon can cater for all event sizes, from small day events to large complex residential conferences. Meeting rooms are well located and are a short walk from residential accommodation. 9 SPECIALIST EQUIPMENT AND FACILITIES HIRE We have a number of diverse specialist facilities and equipment for hire. Whether you are a business who wants an off-site venue to train staff, offer adult education courses in the evening or during the summer months we can offer you access to a wide range of exciting facilities. Classroom Hire A vast range of classrooms which can be set-up as meeting, training or seminar rooms, available at affordable rates and on an hourly basis, room capacities range from depending on set-up. All of the rooms are equipped with IT, audio visual equipment and whiteboard and are ideal for small local groups, adult education, larger meetings and seminars. IT Training Rooms The University has a number of IT training rooms at both of our sites as well as a number of adjacent classrooms with full IT and audio visual teaching facilities to help provide a fluid environment for even the most interactive sessions. Mac Labs Our state of the art Mac Labs based at our Ealing site are also available. For businesses and those who are technically experienced and wish to run classes or training in video or photography editing and graphic design we can offer these rooms at evenings, weekends and over the summer period. Fashion Workshops Our fashion workshops are available for hire for adult education courses. For hire are a textiles/print screen room, a knitting and sewing machine room along with a pattern cutting room with high tables. All of the above system can be pre-loaded with any software that is required by our specialist technicians who can also provide support while the sessions are in progress.

10 Dance/TV Studio Hire On the ground floor at our Ealing site is our large dance studio which also doubles as TV studio with a full array of lighting. This is the ideal venue if you are looking for an area to run summer or evening classes, practice for a performance or are looking for a location for some indoor filming. Kitchen Hire and Cookery Demonstration Area Within our London School of Hospitality and Tourism, we have a large lecture theatre with a fully equipped cookery demonstration area with tiered seating for up to 90 people, which can be used for cookery demonstrations and TV work. The faculty has six fully equipped classrooms kitchens for different types of cookery, ideal for running evening or weekend courses and chef training or competitions. Also based within the School is the Pillars Training restaurant which businesses can hire for the training of new staff within a restaurant environment or can be set up for a scene within a television or film production. Health Care Simulation Centre The Simulation Centre is located at our Brentford site and has state of the art facilities to enable a full range of simulated educational procedures for all health and social care professionals. The centre contains a range of high fidelity patient simulators that accurately replicate physiological parameters allowing interventions to be performed with realistic outcomes in virtual clinical environments. The centre is able to replicate theatre, critical care, A&E, midwifery, ward-based and community environments, supporting the educational needs of staff from a range of disciplines and across all health and social care areas. The centre is ideal for the training of staff in the police, prison service and the private sector businesses, and can also be used for film and television work.

11 Audio and Recording Hire The University has incorporated within it the well renowned London College of Music which has a range of audio facilities. These include full recording studios facilities within the Ealing site and a larger facility at Vestry hall. Also at the Ealing site are a large range of fully sound proofed music practice rooms with Steinway pianos and drum kits. Also available for those who wish to run courses in the analogue pre-requisites of music production are the music technology and midi training rooms. All of which can be hired with technical support from our on-site staff. Photography Within the Ealing School of Art, Design and Media, we have available for hire two different size still life studios both with full technical support and lighting equipment. Also available for experienced photographers are our dark room and photo imaging Mac Labs with advanced production facilities.

12 CORPORATE CONFERENCING AND TRAINING The University of West London is the ideal venue for holding conferences and seminars, as well as providing space for training with corporate hospitality. The University has two purpose built areas for holding high level meetings and presentations, as well as a range of purpose built tiered lecture theatres, all of which have excellent acoustics and quality audio visual equipment.

13 During the summer months our Brentford site is a perfect choice for organisers seeking a venue for residential conferences or large day events which require a plenary of rooms, exhibition space and workshop rooms all under one roof. Whether for day or residential events, there is the opportunity for the use of break-out rooms and a large concourse area adjacent to the main entrance ideal for registration points and exhibitions. Both of our purpose built suites also have the added feature of full video conferencing for up to 20 people with experienced on-site technicians to assist with your technical and IT needs. Corporate Training We can provide businesses with first class facilities to provide company training and they can be assured of a first rate learning environment with a focus on the successful delivery of your course content without interruption. The University has a number of IT training rooms at both of our sites as well as a number of adjacent classrooms with full IT and audio visual teaching facilities to help provide a fluid environment for even the most interactive sessions. Our West London campus is ideally located with excellent transport links for central London and along the M4 corridor. These venues are all available at affordable day rates or on a day delegate rate, and are available with or without hospitality.

14 Savoy Suite Our brand new state of the art teaching and conference/ meeting facilities based at the West London Campus, has been made possible by a grant from the Savoy Educational Trust. The Leadership and Management Development Suite includes a 50-seat lecture theatre with a fully-equipped video conferencing facilities, as well as an informal touchdown area with eight desktop PCs. The new suite has enhanced the University s profile within the business community which will enable a more rounded student experience while acting as a hub for local businesses. This suite will comprise of: 50 seat presentation/lecture theatre video conference facility, fully equipped with technological infrastructure such as video link to facilitate dialogue with different businesses around the world a multi-functional area that can be converted into one large space suitable for group work, or two seminar rooms and a breakout area an informal breakout area. Full on-site hospitality is available in adjacent rooms as well as access to our two award winning restaurants, Pillars and Feast.

15 Paragon Suite With amazing views over West London and bright natural ambience the Paragon Suite on the 11th Floor of the Brentford site is an ideal venue for holding a prestigious conference or off-site business meeting. The state of the art suite comprises of: a large presentation area with seating for 50 delegates 16 seat boardroom with video conferencing facilities break-out areas lounge area with office facilities informal café lounge for catering and finger buffets. With full on-site hospitality, and versatile facilities and a dedicated event manager. The Paragon suite has all that you need to make your conference or meeting a success.

16 Summer Schools The University of West London is celebrating being awarded the prestigious Queen s Anniversary Prize for outstanding achievement and excellence in hospitality education. Ideally located for Summer Schools and easily accessed by road, rail and air, the University s location allows students to experience a quality environment for learning while being right on the door step of the vibrant city of London. With a wide range of classrooms starting with smaller seat rooms to our large 250 seat lecture theatres all with full IT projection kits allow you to offer the very best environment to students. We can also arrange for students to have access to our libraries for quiet study work and to PC services to keep in touch with friends and family back home. This coupled with our large accommodation block offering over 800 single study rooms (see Accommodation pages) located next to the Brentford site with excellent transport links, including the free University shuttle bus service, to our Ealing site and town centre, with transport links to central London and beyond. We can also offer a full menu of breakfast/lunch and evening meals for students staying on campus with packed lunches for when students are out on day trips. Bespoke packages including airport transfers and guided tours for groups with our transport partners Impact, enable you to be competitive in your chosen market. We believe in developing programmes with our Summer School Leaders to enable students to experience a well rounded period of study and culture and to make the University of West London an unrivalled venue to host their Summer School Programmes.

17 Summer Accommodation Paragon Summer Lets Whether you have a Summer School running at the University or if you have a large residential conference planned, the University of West London can offer short term stays (late-june to mid September) to a wide range of individuals. This award-winning building was opened in September 2006 and provides purpose built accommodation. The rooms cater for a wide range of needs and are available from as little as 30 per night and the facilities include broadband access, vending machines, launderette, 24hr security, fully responsive maintenance and facility services as well as wheelchair access. The well equipped shared kitchens include irons, microwave ovens and much more. This accommodation can be offered on a self catering, bed and breakfast, half or full board basis. The Brentford site is approximately two miles from our Ealing site and has a free shuttle bus to allow easy connections. In Ealing you will find a huge range of theatres, cinemas, clubs, bars, and other entertainment. The Paragon apartments are a 15 min walk from Brentford High Street, which has lots to offer for residents. From a wide range of leisure, food and drink venues, and shopping facilities, as well as all the public services you would expect. It is approximately a 0.5 mile walk from the River Thames and the Grand Union Canal. We can also provide a weekly cleaning service for the study bedrooms and communal areas. Rubbish and recycling is removed daily.

18 Filming and TV Location Hire With Paragon s striking glass structure and panoramic views of London, and the multifunctional Ealing site at our West London campus we can provide an excellent backdrop with varied and unique locations for film work. We have a number of academic spaces which can be used for filming, whether you wish to shoot a busy hospital ward in the Brentford Health Simulation Centre, create a forensic science laboratory at our Ealing site or re-create a police incident room with a stunning backdrop from the 11th Floor of the Paragon building we probably have the location for you. Contact our External Letting Office for a tour of our site. Location Ealing Site and Savoy Suite By road The St Mary s Road site lies on the B455 between the A4 and the A4020, Uxbridge Road. The M4 motorway is a few minutes drive away from Ealing (Junction 2), and the A40, M40 and M25 are all easily accessible. By Bus, Rail and Underground There is one rail and two London Underground stations within easy walking distance of the Ealing site: South Ealing (Piccadilly Line) This is a ten minute walk from the main site on St Mary s Road. Ealing Broadway (rail, Central and District lines) The Ealing site is a ten minute walk away. A regular bus service (number 65) runs from outside Ealing Broadway station to the main site. There is a regular rail service to London Paddington and Reading

19 Taxis There are taxi ranks at both Ealing Broadway and South Ealing stations. Brentford site Brentford is located 1.5 miles south of the Ealing site. There are excellent bus and rail services nearby giving quick and easy access to Central London. In addition, the free shuttle bus service stops at the campus giving easy access to our other sites and Ealing Broadway station. Boston Manor (Piccadilly Line) This London Underground station is 15 minutes walk north of the Brentford site on Boston Manor Road. Brentford Station This rail station is five minutes walk from the Brentford site, with scheduled trains into Central London arriving at Waterloo station. By road The Brentford site is located on the A3002, Boston Manor Road, only 1.5 miles south of the St Mary s Road site in Ealing. By Bus, Rail and Underground Bus routes E2, E8, H9 and 195 serve the campus with stops nearby. Additionally, a London Underground and a rail station are within easy reach of the Brentford site.
