4 ADVANCED SEMINAR IN ENTREPRENEURIAL STRATEGIES AND FINANCE You will spend nearly a month in the United States in an intensive seminar that immerses you in American culture as well as coursework and field study covering entrepreneurship, finance and leadership. This seminar is highly recommended for excelling senior undergraduate, master s degree or post-graduate students. 5 ADVANCED SEMINAR IN ENTREPRENEURIAL STRATEGIES AND FINANCE DATES // JULY 11 AUGUST 5, 2016 Arrival July 9, 2016 Departure August 7, 2016 Classes are scheduled Monday through Thursday, providing students with long weekends to further explore Chicago and the surrounding area. Weeks two and three will have adjusted schedules that allow you to visit other cities in the United States over a four-day weekend. The on campus dress code for the Advanced Seminar is business casual business professional attire will only be required for meeting with local business leaders and special events. 7 FOUR WEEK ENGLISH AND CULTURE SEMINAR The Laureate English Program (LEP) at Kendall College immerses you in American culture while improving your academic English language skills. Participants will have the opportunity to take field trips to Chicago landmarks and neighborhoods, cultural events, and museums and festivals. ACADEMIC ENGLISH You will complete the first 5-weeks of the college s intensive, academic English 10-week course. A variety of strategies are utilized to promote English development such as role-pays, small group work, presentations, essay writing, and blogging. COURSE MATERIAL INCLUSIONS In addition to the Cambridge materials provided in the course, an online lab program is purchased for each student. 8 TEN WEEK INTENSIVE IMMERSION The Intensive Immersion program is a full-time (24 hours a week) academic program that offers six levels of speaking and listening, and reading and writing courses for foundational and academic English. TEN WEEK INTENSIVE IMMERSION DATES // JULY 11 SEPTEMBER 22, 2016 Arrival July 6, 2016 Departure September 23, 2016 This academically rigorous program includes an expectation that homework assignments will be completed and you will only speak English while studying in the U.S. Research shows that students growth in language competency improves when only speaking the target language. Classes are scheduled Monday through Thursday, and there are opportunities to take field trips to Chicago landmarks and neighborhoods, cultural events, and museums and festivals.
