Crdinatr Parker-Wathne read the Task Frce Missin Statement. 1

2 INTRODUCTIONS Members and guests intrduced themselves. New Members Crdinatr Parker-Wathne shared that Kara Meier had withdrawn her membership applicatin but that Madisn Brwn f the Bzeman MADD Organizatin was with us and was ur newest member. Ms. Brwn spke briefly and invited everyne t the Victim Impact Panel t be held 7/22/15 at 6:30 pm at the Curthuse. Crdinatr Parker-Wathne shared that we have tw citizen member slts still available and encuraged everyne t be lking fr ptential candidates. Visitrs Ms. Kaylin Green f the Department f Scilgy at MSU intrduced herself and shared that she is ding research n health risk behavirs during yung adulthd and is explring perceptins f driving after drinking alchl amng yung adults in Mntana. She is attending in interest as t what the Task Frce is ding and in making cntacts regarding this tpic. CONSENT AGENDA Chair Hamiltn requested changes/apprval t the May Meeting Minutes. Minutes apprved. BUSINESS Nminatins/Electins Chair Hamiltn reminded everyne that the Vice-Chair psitin is still pen and called fr nminatins fr said psitin. Crdinatr Parker-Wathne nminated Adrian Massey. N ther nminatins. Nminatin apprved by majrity vte Budget Update Crdinatr Parker-Wathne explained t the members that the $18,000 we were due t receive next year frm undistributed reinstatement fees frm the State had been reduced t apprximately $10,000 due t the frmatin f several new DUI Task Frces. Mr. Ette expunded n this and helped t clarify a few details. Statistics Mr. Ette shared that the Executive Cmmittee discussed what needs t be dne t gather apprpriate DUI Statistics and that tw part time peple have been 2

3 hired and cleared thrugh the Cunty t access the Full Curt database; Heather Hume and Kelley Parker-Wathne will begin 7/16/15. Mr. Ette suggested we clarify what data is needed and input frm Cunty Attrney Marty Lambert wuld be wise. Chair Hamiltn suggested keeping it simple as we can always add mre in later, the imprtant thing is getting it up and running. He suggested input frm Mr. Hirsch as well. Cmmissin Meeting Updates Lg Reveal Crdinatr Parker-Wathne thanked everyne wh attended the Lg Reveal at the 6/30/15 Cunty Cmmissiner s Meeting and shared that the Cmmissiner s respnse was extremely encuraging and supprtive. They were very impressed and said ur Task Frce has raised the bar fr ther Task Frces state-wide. By-Laws Crdinatr Parker-Wathne shared that the new revised By-Laws will be presented fr apprval at the Cunty Cmmissiners Meeting 7/21/15. AMR Jint Press Release Update Crdinatr Parker-Wathne infrmed the grup that the Jint Press Release presenting the new Bld Draw System with Rich McLane and the Bzeman PD went well and was well attended. The new prcess was already put t use ver the 4 th f July weekend. The next few mnths will be a trial & errr prcess where sme f the kinks will be addressed and irned ut. Member Manuals Crdinatr Parker-Wathne said she is aware that new members have nt received member manuals and that she is planning t print new nes that will include the new By-Laws. She will als update manuals/by-laws fr existing members. Events Crdinatr Parker-Wathne presented an Event Spreadsheet t all members and encuraged everyne t sign up fr anything they can help with. Mr. Ette reprted that the Task Frce attended the Annual Harley Davidsn Mtrcycle Memrial Run and it was a great first public event. Ms. Parker-Wathne shared that the 7/9/15 Music n Main the Task Frce attended went very well als and that the TF has rented a helium tank fr the purpse f handing ut ballns. The Task Frce handed ut apprximately 150 plain yellw and black ballns at this event but yellw ballns with the TF lg have been rdered and will arrive in time fr the 7/23/15 Music n Main. 3

4 Grup decisin was made t target every ther Music n Main due t time limitatins and bligatins t ther cmmunity events. Ms. Parker-Wathne shwed the new T-shirts with ur lg t the Task Frce and said whever shws up at an event t help will get ne. Varius members signed up fr varius events. P I & E Update Grup discussed pssibility f selling DUI Task Frce T-shirts as a way t make extra mney. Mr. Ette will check with Cunty re: setting up prper accunts and apprval t d s. Crdinatr Parker-Wathne shared that a suggestin was made fr the Task Frce t cnsider being included as part f the Blue Jean Days Fundraising prgrams. Mr. Ette will check int feasibility f this. Mr. Massey shared that the PI&E Cmmittee had discussed the idea f having ur lg n a billbard and if it s ne that s nt being used regularly see if we culd get it at a discunt. Mr. Gale suggested he thught we culd get ur SOBER? message n the flashing reader bard between Bzeman and Livingstn at n cst by cntacting the MT Dept f Transprtatin. Miscellaneus Ms. Wylie asked if anyne knew why the Bzeman Daily Chrnicle n lnger has the DUI s and MIP s listed in the paper and if it wuld be k fr her t try t find ut. Said she thught it was a gd deterrent and will fllw up n this with the grup s apprval. Grup apprved. PUBLIC COMMENT Mr. Keen initiated cnversatin regarding increasing the Crdinatr s hurs given the nature f the directin we re ging with the Task Frce. Mr. Ette respnded that any increase wuld have t be apprved by the Cunty Cmmissiners and that the Task Frce Budget fr FY 2016 had just been submitted. He als said the Budget really desn t allw rm fr it as the cst fr a ¾ time psitin wuld be abut $37,000 which wuld leave little fr the CEASE Awards and ther bligatins/necessities. Mr. Lambert said it wuld likely be a year befre anything wuld be apprved. Mr. Ette suggested the Task Frce culd pssibly ask fr a special exceptin and wuld have t then adjust the Budget. Mr. Lambert said it was pssible t ask the Cunty t hard fund 4

5 the psitin. Crdinatr Parker-Wathne shared that she is indeed wrking ver her alltted 20 hurs per week and accumulating cmp time. Mr. Keen replied that he thught it was wrthy f a cnversatin with the Cmmissiners whether they say yes r n. Mr. Ette suggested we cntinue gathering stats thrugh August then d a presentatin saying mre time is needed t maintain them. Mr. Lambert said the Cunty s final Budget is apprved mid- August s it s prbably best t wait until that s dne. Grup agreed t cntinue prgressing, participating in cmmunity events, gathering statistics, cllabrating, netwrking, and educating, then g befre Cmmissiners with ur request twards the end f August.
