2 YMCA Information The Tri Valley YMCA, a state-of-the-art facility, is a collaborative effort with the YMCA and the Fleetwood School District. This community center is open to the community and enhances the Fleetwood education experiences. This premier center includes a family wellness center, locker rooms and youth adventure center. Participants must be at least 14years old to utilize all fitness areas, unless a youth weight training certification class has been completed. Membership Card One membership card is issued upon registration and is required for admittance to the YMCA. Lost cards will be replaced for $5 per card. Members from other YMCAs must show membership card and picture ID. Dress Code Participants must wear shirts and shoes at all times. Clean, non-marking athletic shoes are required. Behavior Policy Individuals who do not follow facility rules will receive a verbal warning on the first offense. The second reprimand will result in removal from the facility. Alcohol, drugs, foul language and/or disruptive behavior are not permitted at the YMCA. The YMCA has the right to refuse service to anyone at any time. Cancellation Policy Cancellation of monthly bank draft for memberships requires a 30-day written notice prior to draft date. Cancellation forms are available at the Welcome Center. The YMCA may charge a $50 joining fee when re-joining depending on the membership type. If you choose to cancel and let your membership lapse for more than 45 days, the joiner fee will be charged. The YMCA offers a discount for companies with eight or more participating employees. Monthly Draft The YMCA will automatically draft membership dues from your savings account, checking account, or credit/debit card on the 21 st of each month. If using a checking account, a voided check, along with membership forms must be provided to start membership. A prorated fee will be assessed at this time. A 30-day written notice must be given for draft cancellations. Membership Freezing Memberships cannot be put on hold for vacation, business trips, or anticipated non-use periods. Freezing will be allowed if pre-approved for maternity, military and medical leave with proper documentation. Outstanding Balances Any person with an outstanding balance cannot participate in any YMCA program until the balance is paid. Balances may be turned over to collections. A $20 fee will be assessed for checks and drafts returned. Refund Policy The YMCA has a no refund policy for memberships and program fees. Adjustments may be made for credit toward other programs due to special circumstances. Nursery/Child Watch The YMCA offers free nursery services for members while participating in YMCA activities. 4 Youth Development School s Out Before and After School Child Care Before and after school child care is available for children in Kindergarten through 6 th grade during the school year. This program is licensed by the Department of Public Welfare and is a Keystone STARS facility. Summer day camp is designed to provide a fun summer full of swimming, arts & crafts, weekly field trips, sports, fitness, and special activities. A $10 late fee will apply Summer Playground The Tri Valley Summer Playground is a half day summer camp program for school-age children. These camps are held at Kutztown, Fleetwood, and Blandon Parks and offer arts & crafts, sports, fitness, and special activities. 5 Youth Development Soccer The YMCA soccer league will focus on teaching soccer fundamentals, skill development and game play. Participants will be broken into teams and will play organized games using a league play format. Parent/tot Soccer and 4 year old participants will have a separate division and only meet on Saturdays. Age appropriate rules are used for maximum skill development. Games and practices will be played on outdoor fields or indoor gymnasiums. Ages: Parent/tot Parent & 3 yrs 4-6 yrs Boys & Girls (Coed) Session Dates: April/May 2015 Fee $30 Member $50 Non-Member Practice/Game: Parent/tot meets for 1 hour on a Saturday morning and is a parent/child interactive program. 4-6 year old soccer teams will practice and play games for 1 hour each week. Indoor Floor Hockey The YMCA Indoor floor hockey league will focus on the basics and learning the fundamentals to successful stick -handling, safety, and passing. Players will be split-up by age and skill level. 4 year-olds-kindergarten will only play on Saturday s. Ages: 4 years-6th grade Session Dates: Fall 2015 Fees: $40 Member $60 Non-Member Kids Night Out Join us for these adventurous parties full of surprise activities including inflatable obstacle courses, adventure center competitions, field relays, pizza parties, seasonal themes, and carnival games. Day/Time: March, :00 8:00 PM April :00 8:00 PM May :00 8:00 PM **Dates Subject to change** Fee: Member: $10 Non-member: $20 Basketball The YMCA basketball league will focus on teaching basketball fundaments, skill development, and game play. Participant s grades 1 st 6 th grade will be broken into teams using a player draft and will play organized games using a league play format. Participant ages, 4 Years-Kindergarten will meet for skill development stations of dribbling, shooting, passing, and game play. Ages: 4 yrs 6 th Grade Boys & Girls (Not coed based on program participation) Session Dates: December 2015-February 2016 Registration Deadline: TBA Player Evaluations: TBA (Evaluations conducted to insure team equality) Birthday Party Packages Package #1 Basic Party - $ Let your YMCA provide the perfect location for your child s birthday party. This package gives your child and up to 20 friends access to our Adventure Center for 2 hours during normal operating hours. We ll have tables and chairs set up, so all you need to do is bring your food and you re set. Package #2 Basic Private Party - $ This package gives your child and up to 20 friends access to our Adventure Center for 2 hours during off hours so you will have the place to yourselves! We ll have tables and chairs set up, so all you need to do is bring your food and you re set. Package #3 The Ultimate Supreme Party - $ Now you can have your cake and eat it too! Not only is the YMCA the perfect location for your child s birthday party, but leave everything to us! From invitations to providing the food for your party, we can do it all. Even better is the fact that after your party, the mess is all ours! This package gives your child and up to 20 friends access to our Adventure Center for 2 hours during off peak hours. 6 Healthy Living Cardio Pilates An invigorating fusion of classic pilates movements made into fat burning cardio exercises along with strength and body shaping effects. Days/Times: Mondays 5:30 6:30 PM Wednesdays 9:30 10:30 AM Hoopnotica Hoopnotica is a hot, international fitness and dance phenomenon that engages your mind, body and soul! Hoopnotica s mission is to re-introduce the element of play into physical fitness with new forms of movement that are fresh, expressive, and above all, fun. Days/Times: Tuesdays 6:45 7:45 PM Saturdays 8:30-9:30AM American Kettlebells Training is primarily compound movements for the whole body using (typically) one kettlebell which looks like a small cannonball with a handle. This class does both American (lighter weights with more swinging) and Russian (heavier weights with more lifting). Unlike weight lifting, class does not isolate certain muscles, but does core and compound movements for the whole body. Days/Times: Tuesdays 9:30 10:30 AM Thursdays 5:30-6:45 PM Body Sculpting Resistance training for the whole body using different apparatus every week such as balls, bands, slow burn weight training, dowel sticks, gliding discs, chairs, rock bottom training, and iron abdominal training. Try a different one every eight weeks! Days/Times: Tuesdays 5:30 6:30 PM Hatha Power Yoga Fundamental base of all yogas emphasizing specific postures in combination with controlled breathing, strength, balance and flexibility. Days/Times: Mondays 9:30 10:30 AM Thursdays 6:45 7:45 PM Zumba Zumba is a Latin-inspired, dance-fitness class that incorporates Latin and International music and dance movements, creating a dynamic, exciting, and effective fitness class. Dancers and non-dancers will have fun doing moves like the Merengue, Salsa, and many more. Come and join the party! Days/Times: Mondays 6:45 7:45 PM Wednesdays 5:30 6:30 PM Fridays 9:30 10:30 AM High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) The boot camp/hiit class is a combination of plyometric exercises, cardio and resistance training performed in high-intensity intervals. A great workout for home or gym that requires little equipment. Each class is unique and provides a different workout. Muscle confusion and high-intensity training is important for lean muscle gain, weight loss and developing strong bones to perform functional every-day tasks. Days/Times: Tuesdays 6:30 7:15 AM Wednesdays 6:45 7:45 PM Thursdays 6:30 7:15 AM Saturdays 9:30 10:30AM Weight Training Orientations The YMCA offers free orientations to members on all weight and cardiovascular equipment. Orientations are conducted by certified fitness professionals. Orientations must be scheduled at least 24 hours in advance. Personal Training The YMCA offers personal training to meet your fitness goals. Individuals may train alone as a couple or with a group of 3-4. Please contact the YMCA Welcome Center to schedule an appointment. Techno Fit Techno Fit is a wellness program that includes a comprehensive fitness evaluation, weight training orientation, personalized training program, and access to the Wellness System. A personal trainer will conduct a thorough fitness evaluation and develop a personalized training program just for you. Every Techno Fit participant is issued their own Wellness System Key. When inserted into the fitness equipment, the key makes the machine start automatically and the user is presented with their very own personalized routine to follow. Please contact the YMCA Welcome Center to schedule an appointment. Key & 6 Training Sessions: $50 6 Training Sessions: $35 Replacement Key Fee: $20 Silver Sneakers Enrolling in Silver Sneakers provides for you, at no additional cost by your health plan, to have a membership and access to all classes and the facility. 7 Aquatics Insanity You ve seen the commercials on TV and now there are Insanity group fitness classes at your local YMCA. This is a maximum intensity interval workout with a focus on cardiorespiratory fitness, strength, power, and abdominal core strength, all through the use of cardio and plyometric exercises. All fitness levels are welcome. Each class is a 60 minute workout. Days/Times: Wednesdays 6:45PM-7:45PM Thursdays 9:30-10:30AM Saturdays 9:30AM-10:30AM Beginner 5K Training A three-day per week walking/running program designed to take you from walking 20 minutes to running at 5k in just 9 weeks. Includes use of Techno Key for easy treadmill training, one day per week instruction with our certified trainer and 5k registration.. Program also available for intermediate and advanced training. Cost: $75(Includes $25 registration fee for Marsh Madness 5k or Healthy Kids Day 5k. Dodgeball Tournament Sign-up to play your favorite gym class activitiy! The dodgleball tournament is open to teams comprised of at least 6 players and two alternates. All players must be 6 years of age and older. Each team guaranteed 6 games. Top teams will advance to playoffs. Date: Spring 2015 Price: $75/team(6 players plus 2 alternates) Kid s Fitness Class A bi-monthly class designed to introduce children ages 8-14 to various modes of exercise. Exercises vary weekly, and include exercise balls, medicine balls, kettlebells, Zumba, dumbbells, and more. A focus on challenges while stressing safe technique keeps things exciting and educational. Days/Time: Beginning in January, the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month at 10:30am Cost: Free for members $5/non-members Spring Clinic Conditioning Clinic Tri Valley Spring Clinic is back again and ready to help your swimmer prepare for the summer season! Our coaching staff will design practices working on stroke mechanics, technique, and conditioning. Clinic runs from May Practice Times may be adjusted by coaches at anytime. This team competes in the Berks County Swim Association. Practices are held Monday Through Friday mornings at the Fleetwood Borough Swimming Pool. Practice Times may be adjusted by Coaches at anytime. Bronze: Monday Friday, 11:00 11:45AM TBA (10 & Under) Silver: Monday Friday, 10:00 11:30AM TBA (11 & 12) Gold: Monday Friday, 8:30 10:30AM TBA (13 & up) Great White Sharks Winter Swim Team Tri Valley Great White Shark Swim Team is back and ready to conquer the world! Keystone Pool on the campus of Kutztown University serves as the home to the Great White Sharks. There will be a free trial period September 23-25, 2014 for any swimmers that would like to try out the program. Registration form and fee for swimmer is due September 29, Practice begins September 30, Practice times may be adjusted by Coaches at anytime. Dry land will be held at the Tri Valley YMCA facility and feature Technofit Training designed by the coaching staff. Prices include YMCA youth memberships for all swimmers during the swim season ONLY! 8 Aquatics Parent-Child (6 36 months) - This water enrichment program provides a positive environment for children ages 6-36 months with a parent or guardian in the water. Parents are guided through basic swimming skills by our trained instructors. We follow the guidelines of the YMCA of the USA. Children must have head control and must wear swim diapers, not regular disposable diapers. This program follows the guidelines of the YMCA Swim Lessons Preschool Program. If a child is not fully Potty trained, the child must wear a swim diaper. Must remain in preschool classes thru completion of Kindergarten. Pike/Eel First level of the preschool program. Class teaches water comfort, blowing bubbles, swimming with flotation aids, and to float with assistance. This class works on putting the face in the water, independent swimming, independent back floating, and jumping into the pool with assistance. Session Days Times S. Code P. Polliwog Swimmers will work on putting their face in the water, blowing bubble, paddling on front and back with and without flotation, back floating and jumping into water without assistance. 10 Social Responsibility Octoberfest Dress up in a great Halloween costume and join us for our annual FREE family Octoberfest event. The YMCA joins forces with the Fleetwood Borough to celebrate the Fall season and bring the community together with other local businesses and organizations. This event offers a costume parade, hayrides, face painting, games, music, pumpkin decorating contest, snacks, and much more! Date: October 2015 Time: 1:00 PM - 3:00 PM Age: For the entire community Santa Parade & Party Get into the holiday spirit with our annual Santa Party & Breakfast. The event offers inflatable's, crafts, cookie decorating, picture with Santa, and breakfast. Date/Time: Location: December :00 11:00 AM Fleetwood Community Center 110 W. Arch St., Fleetwood Age: Gift included for children 12 and under Fee: $6 / Breakfast $10 / Wristband (price is subject to change without notice) Daddy-Daughter Valentine s Day Dance Fathers or significant male role model, escort your daughters to a special night of fun! Our annual fatherdaughter dance is open to girls ages 4 through 12. This event is sure to make your daughter s first dance a memorable one. The evening includes: music from a local DJ, refreshments, a 5x7 photograph of the daddydaughter couple, and more. Date: February 28, 2015 Time: 5-8PM Cost: $25/couple($5 for each additional child) Healthy Kids Day Come out for a day of fun and healthy activities just for kids! Games, obstacle courses, inflatable, bike safety, nutrition information, healthy snacks, and more! Date: April 25, 2015 Time: Cost: 10-2pm Free! Mother/Son Fun Night Mom s bring your son s for a night of crazy games, sports, and activities! Think of a crazy team name for yourselves and participate in some fun challenges! Date: May 2015 Fee: $25/Couple Marsh Madness Saturday, March 14, 2015 The St. Patty s Day Marsh Madness is a polar bear plunge into Blue Marsh in the cold of winter. This is a sponsorship based activity requiring each participant to raise at least $25 to plunge. Marsh Madness raises money for our financial assistance program, which allows everyone to participate in our programs regardless of their ability to pay. Participation can be adults or youth and sign-up can be as an individual or as a team. Annual Breakfast of Champions for Youth The Breakfast of Champions raises money for the YMCA s Changing Lives Annual Support Campaign, providing financial assistance to children and families, enabling the Y to provide services to anyone regardless of ability to pay. As the YMCA is now serving over 1,000 children and families every day, the need for these funds is growing and your help has never been more critical. You can support the YMCA s efforts by sponsoring the Breakfast of Champions for Youth. More than 300 business and community leaders attend, giving your organization valuable exposure as a supporter of the YMCA. Day: May 5, 2015 Time: 7:30-9:00 AM Location: Crowne Plaza Reading Hotel Y Kids Golf Classic We would like to invite you to participate in the Y Strong Kids Golf Classic held at the Berkshire Country Club. Our annual tournament supports our Changing Lives Annual Support Campaign so that more families can experience the positive effects of YMCA programs and activities. Date: Monday, July 13, 2015 Location: Berkshire Country Club International YMCA The YMCA partners with YMCAs in Hannover, Germany and Ivanovo, Russia. These partnerships are a collaborative effort to offer services to individuals in need on an international basis and provide opportunities for youth and staff exchanges both here and abroad. Stewards of Children The YMCA has partnered with Darkness to Light to bring its award-winning Stewards of Children child sexual abuse prevention training to Berks and Schuylkill Counties. This program is available to any community group, organization or individual seeking empowerment to protect children from sexual abuse. Stewards of Children is a 2 ½ hours, facilitator led group training session featuring a combination of survivor stories, expert advice, and practical guidance. Together we can end child sexual abuse. 11 Housing Programs Homelessness affects people of all ages, races, genders, and ethnicities, and has a variety of causes, including chemical dependency, unemployment, and domestic abuse. For this reason, the YMCA of Reading and Berks County has a number of housing programs which serve a variety of populations. Each program provides case management in an effort to address the root causes of homelessness. Program participants learn living skills, budgeting and employment skills as they work toward self-sufficiency.
