Same-day registration may be available for an additional charge. Payment in full must accompany registration. Program registration can be done at the front desk, by telephone, or on our website. Waiting lists are available for programs filled to capacity. Waiting lists are based on a first come, first served basis. Program fees are non-transferable and non-refundable unless a medical excuse is provided by a licensed physician. OPEN DOORS FINANCIAL AID Because the Y will never turn anyone away due to inability to pay, financial assistance is available for those who qualify. SilverSneakers and Silver & Fit see Page 7 for more details. PAYMENT OPTIONS The Y makes it easy to become a member! Payment options include full payment by cash, check, and all major credit cards. Monthly payments may also be made through automatic e-pay from a bank account, major credit card, or debit card. GUEST/DAY PASS POLICY Guest Pass: Adult members can bring one adult guest per visit. Guests are entitled to three visits before paying the $10 day pass rate. Day Pass: Adults 18 & older can purchase a day pass for $10, which allows access to the Wellness Center, Open Gym, and group exercise classes. Programs are excluded. Youth day passes are also available for ages 8-17 for $3 per day, which provide access to the Teen Center & Open Gym. All guests must complete a Guest Waiver Form before using the facility.
3 FOR YOUTH DEVELOPMENT Nurturing the potential of every child and teen LEARN, PLAY, & MOVE Gymnastics Instructional gymnastics program taught year-round. Classes start the first Monday of each month. Registration is required one week prior to the first class. Participants must be at least 3½ years old and potty-trained. Member Fee $30/month Non-Member Fee $45/month Intro to Gymnastics Develop coordination and fitness through basic gymnastics skills, emphasizing confidence, and following directions. 5:00 to 5:45 pm Beginner Gymnastics Build and improve upon basic skills previously learned. 6:00 to 7:00 pm Intermediate Gymnastics Improves skills on beam, floor, bars, and vault using drills and conditioning to build strength. 7:00 to 8:00 pm Open Gym Tumble Regis- Supervised program for Y gymnasts. 4 FOR YOUTH DEVELOPMENT Nurturing the potential of every child and teen LEARN, PLAY, & MOVE CHILD WATCH (Ages 1-7) To quali- Spend some personal quality time in the Wellness Center or taking a class knowing your child is nearby in a safe, secure, fun environment. Child Watch hours are coordinated with many group exercise classes to make the Y experience as convenient as possible. Parents must remain on-site. Registration is required 24 hours in advance. Free for Single Parent and Family memberships. Ages 3-4 Tuesdays 1/5 to 2/9 -OR- 5:30-6:16 pm Wednesdays 1/6 to 2/10 Ages 5-8 Tuesdays 1/5 to 2/9 -OR- Wednesdays 1/6 to 2/10 Member Fee: $30 Non-Member Fee: $45 6:30-7:30 pm Indoor Soccer Y-Futsal/Indoor Soccer $225 per team 4 vs. 4 plus Keeper. Maximum roster size 10 players. Under 15 Boys/Girls/CoEd Ages Under 12 Boys/Girls/CoEd Ages Under 10 Boys/Girls/CoEd Ages 8-10 Birth Certificate copy required for all players. Super Dodgebowl Tournament Saturday, 2/6 Time: TBD Minimum number of teams per age bracket: 4 Maximum number of teams: 16 Win your very own Super Bowl by competing in this 5 player dodgeball tournament. Wear the colors or the apparel of your favorite team! Prizes for the winning team in each age bracket! *Calls will be made to the team captains after registration deadline with specific tournament start times. Registration deadline: Thursday, 2/4 $30/team Ages 8-11 Ages Floor Hockey Ages 5-8 Scores will be kept but standings will not be recorded in this 7-week program consisting of one practice and six games. Thursdays 1/7 to 2/11 5:15 to 6:15 pm Member Fee: $30 Non-Member Fee: $45 Sports Variety Participate in a different sport each week throughout this 6-week program by learning the basics, playing games and socializing with others. Parent participation is required for Rookies group. Rookies: Ages 3-4 Tuesdays 3/1 to 4/5 -OR- 5:15-6:00 pm Thursdays 3/3 to 4/7 Winners: Ages 5-8 Tuesdays 3/1 to 4/5 -OR- 6:15-7:15 pm Thursdays 3/3 to 4/7 Member Fee: $30 Non-Member Fee: $45 Glow Youth Night WEAR A WHITE OR NEON SHIRT! Friday, 2/26 Time: 7:00-9:30 pm Youth in grades 4-8 can spend time at the YMCA with friends in a safe and supervised environment. Whether you want to play sports in the gym, games in the Virtual Edge, enjoy snacks & drinks or meet new people, there are plenty of activities for everyone. Activities include but aren t limited to: Glow in the dark dodgeball & glow in the dark golf putting. Members: $3 Non-Members: $5
6 FOR YOUTH DEVELOPMENT Nurturing the potential of every child and teen LEARN, PLAY, & MOVE 3 Point Shootout March Madness Wednesday, 3/2 Time: Ages :00 pm Ages 16+ 7:30 pm Partners are required for this 3-round contest. Participants take shots around the 3-point line while their partner rebounds. Prizes for winning teams. One warm up round per team & then single elimination. 1 minute time limit per round. $10/team 3 on 3 March Madness Basketball Tournament Ages Wednesday, 3/9 5:30-8:30 pm Ages 16 + Wednesdays, 3/16 & 5:30-8:30 pm 3/23 Big Gym, Little People This is a hands-on program for parent and child. A weekly craft is provided in the classroom as well as time in the Big Gym for tumble on the big mats. This program works to help the young child s cognitive and social aspects of their growth and development. Ages 2 to 5 years Fridays 9:45 to 10:45 am Session 1: 1/8 through 2/12 Member Fee: $30/month Non-Member Fee: $45/month Trial Class: $10/class Goldfish Swimming Lessons Thursdays, 1/7-2/11 Time: 6:30-7:30 pm Ages 2-5 Pottsville Middle School Pool Your child will have the opportunity to get used to the water & learn the basics of swimming in a group setting with trained instructors. Member Fee: $50 Non-Member Fee: $60 Blue Fins Competitive Swimming Swimmers compete in both winter and summer programs that help build skills, character, & confidence. Prices vary based upon swimmers ages and skill levels. Swimmers can be any age up to 18, so long as they can swim one length of the pool.
7 FOR HEALTHY LIVING Improving the nation s health and well-being HEALTH, WELL-BEING, & EXERCISE HIGH IMPACT INTERVAL TRAINING with Eric Ross This intense 30-minute interval class includes plyometrics, body resistance exercises, fast-paced cardio, and more. Also includes a weekly takehome workout. Tuesdays 4:30 to 5:00 pm Session I: 1/12 to 2/16 Session II: 3/1 to 4/5 Member Fee $15 per 6-week session FitTests A complete fitness assessment will determine your baseline, chart your progress, and help you stay on track with your fitness goals. Variables measured include height, weight, resting heart rate, resting blood pressure, girth measurements, body composition, flexibility, cardiorespiratory endurance, and muscular endurance. Fee includes a detailed printout showing your results. Call for appointment. Members Only $10 FitTest Express FitTest Express is a quicker version of the FitTest that measures height and weight (to calculate BMI), waist-to-hip ratio, and body fat percentage...all in just five minutes! Personalized instruction by a certified trainer to help you learn advanced exercises and training techniques. Sessions are by appointment. Purchase eight (8) or more together and receive a free FitTest, a $10 value. Members Only $30/hour GROUP PERSONAL TRAINING Personal trainings done in small, intimate groups of up to three (3) people. Members Only $20/person/hour See a Wellness Staff professional to schedule an appointment with a personal trainer. Other Wellness Services Wellness Center Orientations Learn how to use the equipment safely and effectively. Available to all Adult members. Free. Call for your personal appointment today. Teen Orientations (Mandatory for all Teen members ages 14-17) Tuesdays/Fridays 3:30 to 4:30 pm Registration required. Blood Pressure Wednesdays Free blood pressure checks all day every Wednesday. 8 FOR HEALTHY LIVING Improving the nation s health and well-being HEALTH, WELL-BEING, & EXERCISE The Schuylkill YMCA now proudly accepts Silver & Fit memberships. Please call or stop by the Y and have a staff member confirm your Silver & Fit eligibility. SilverSneakers Fitness Program The nation s leading fitness program for older adults includes a free Y membership (based on eligibility) that provides access to all basic amenities, including the SilverSneakers group exercise classes and staff assistance. Classes are open to all Y members. SilverSneakers Classic Hand-held weights, elastic tubing with handles, and a small inflated ball accompany exercises designed to increase muscular strength, range of movement, and activities of daily living. A chair is used for seated or standing support. Tuesdays/Thursdays 10:15 to 11:00 am SilverSneakers Circuit Low impact aerobics are combined with handheld weights, elastic tubing, and a small inflated ball to increase upper body strength in addition to cardiovascular and muscular endurance. A chair is available for standing support, stretching, and relaxation exercises. 10:15 to 11:15 am GROUP EXERCISE Classes subject to change based on participation. Kickin Combo Kickboxing and resistance training come together for a knockout workout. 5:15 pm to 6:15 pm Total Body Workout All major muscle groups, including the heart, are worked in this total body class. /Wednesdays 6:30 to 7:30 pm Low Impact/High Intensity Low Impact does not have to mean low intensity! Every other Thursday am 9:00 to 10:00 am Thursday evenings 5:30 to 6:30 pm POUND A full-body cardio jam session combining light resistance with constant simulated drumming. The workout fuses cardio, Pilates, isometric movements, plyometrics, and isometric poses. Tuesdays 5:30 to 6:30 pm Half & Half Thirty minutes of cardio followed by 30 minutes of resistance training. Tuesdays 6:30 to 7:30 pm Body Sculpting This class focuses exclusively on resistance training and muscular toning exercises. Wednesdays 9:00 to 9:45 am Yoga for Health This class is designed to calm the mind and relax the body while improving balance, strength, and posture. Wednesdays 10:00 to 11:00 am Country Line Dancing Get your Boot Scoot on! Let loose, and have fun while learning in simple 8-count dance patterns. Every other Monday 10:15 to 11:15 am Yoga Sculpt Yoga Sculpt is fitness-oriented yoga. It combines strength training with traditional poses and sun salutations. Thursdays 6:30 to 7:30 pm Gentle Yoga This class encompasses gentle stretching and strengthening that is done in a relaxed and mindful manner. Fridays 10:30 to 11:30 am Happy Hour Start your weekend with a high-energy aerobic and strength workout. Fridays 5:15 to 6:15 pm
9 FOR HEALTHY LIVING Improving the nation s health and well-being HEALTH, WELL-BEING, & EXERCISE GROUP CYCLING Y-1000 CARDIO CHALLENGE 2/1 through 3/13 Celebrate American Heart Month in February by challenging your cardiovascular system with 1,000 minutes of cardio completed at the Y in 6 weeks. Treadmills, ellipticals, AMT s, stationary bicycles, and aerobic group exercise classes can all be used to help accumulate your minutes! See a staff member for details. Member Fee: $3 Group Cycling is a high energy indoor bicycling class (set to music) using a stationary bike with a weighted fixed-gear flywheel. Riders of all abilities can spin together and tailor their training session by individually controlling their cadence and/or adjusting the bike s resistance. Member Fee: $5/month for unlimited classes or $10/class ($12/class for Non-Members). Please refer to separate Group Exercise Schedule flier for full explanation of Group Cycling Policy.) Group Cycling class schedule: Tuesdays Wednesdays Every other Thursday 9:00 to 10:00 am 5:15 to 6:15 pm 9:00 to 10:00 am CARD SHARKS SENIOR SOCIAL WINTER DATES Tuesday 1/19 & 2/16 11:15 am to 1:15 pm No need to stay in the house in the Winter! Enjoy an afternoon of light refreshments and fun card games with your Y friends! POUND is a full-body cardio jam session,, combining light resistance with constant simulated drumming. The workout fuses cardio, Pilates, isometric movements, plyometrics, and isometric poses into a 45-minute series. Burn between 400 and 900+ calories per hour, strengthen and sculpt infrequently used muscles, and drum your way to a leaner, slimmer physique all while rocking out to your favorite music! Through continual upper body motion using lightly weighted drumsticks, called Ripstix, you ll turn into a calorie-torching drummer, POUNDing off pounds as each song flies by.
