Qualified players are put in groups with instructors who have experience and knowledge and who care about individual development. Athletic conditioning and training will also take place. Bring two cans of new tennis balls. This program is not for beginners. Instructor: Jerry Nagahashi Beginners in 8th or 9th grade may enroll, providing they are trying out for William Tennent HS tennis team and they receive permission from the instructor. 11 SPORTS CAMPS Our sports camps provide children with the opportunity to develop skills in a safe, friendly environment. Campers will learn skills and compete against their fellow campers each day. SINGLE WEEK REGISTRATION AVAILABLE TEEN CAMPS COUNSELOR IN TRAINING (CIT) 13 to 15 yrs Assist our highly qualified staff in leading daily activities with children of different ages and abilities. CITs learn camp operations and also develop individual leadership skills to help them in future endeavors. All CIT s are required to complete a week of training first, followed by 4 CIT weeks. LEADER IN TRAINING (LIT) 12 to 14 yrs Service to self and others is at the heart of the LIT program. The Y is focused on giving teens the tools to bring positive change to their community and create lasting relationships with their peers. Training Weeks Get Ready Weeks 1, 3, 5 All CITs and LITs must fill out the Teen Camp Application Form to complete their camp registration. This form can be found on SKATE & TENNIS Held at Munro Park SKATE CAMP 6 to 12 yrs New or experienced riders, learn how to ride, terminology, how to put together a board, and how to ride safely. Participants separated into smaller instructional groups based on age & experience. Includes both free skate and instruction. During select weeks campers will build their own board. TENNIS CAMP 6 to 12 yrs Learn the basics of tennis in a fun environment through drills and games. Players will learn ground strokes, volleys, serves and footwork in this camp. Participants will also learn to keep score during their game play. The week ends with a Friday tournament. Racquet required. FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE Available to those who may not be able to afford our camp.
