2 GOLF CPS Golf camps are designed exclusively for the development of the junior golfer. Camps are open to boys and girls between the ages of 7-17, of all athletic abilities, golf experience, and competitive desire. Whether a child has professional aspirations, collegiate scholarship goals, or simply wants to learn how to play a round with mom or dad, each child enrolled in our camps is warmly welcomed. Junior Lessons Individual lessons for your son or daughter is the best way for your child to receive 1 on 1 attention in a fun environment. Meant for players of all skill levels from a beginner to college level competitors, private lessons help to develop and hone skills for the entire game. Beginner or younger players should start with ½ hour lessons, progressing towards 1 hour lessons as they develop and age. 3 Junior Camps Junior camps are a great way to introduce your child to golf in a fun, social environment or for to improve and enhance skills for a more advanced player. Kids will learn the basics of golf in a game based format, maximizing learning retention and learning necessary skills to play golf into the future. Junior Academy The Rock Barn Junior Academy meets once a week for the younger players and twice a week for the more advanced player during the summer. During the off season all ages meet once a week. With the more devoted child in mind, the Junior Academy develops your young golfer and sets the foundation for him or her to develop into the best golfer they can be. From playing games on the range, to learning rules, to playing on course, the Academy is the best way for your child to learn the game and play it for the rest of their lives. In addition, the option of including private lessons into the plan can really help progress a child s development. Ages 11 and Up: Starting June 3rd Every Mon & Friday: 4pm 5pm $100 Members $150 Non-Members *with 4 individual lessons: $200 Members $300 Non Members Ages 10 and Under: Starting June 4th Every Saturday of the Month: 10am 11pm $50 Member, $75 Non-Members *with 4 individual lessons: $150 Members $200 Non Members PGA Junior League Rock Barn s PGA Junior League Golf Team is a great way to introduce a child into the realm of competitive play while keeping it as a fun, team based sport. Played as a 2 man captain s choice, PGA Junior League allows a child to get the feel for competition against children of roughly the same age and any skill level. By pairing up a weaker player with a stronger one, children can learn and watch a better player play the game while helping out to win their match against teams of other golf courses and clubs PGA Junior League practice begins every Wednesday starting May 4th from 5pm-6pm. Catawba Valley Junior Golf Tour The CVGJ Tour is the next step up for kids to compete from PGA Junior League. Played at different courses in the Hickory, NC area, they offer different age groups for children to compete as individuals against children of the same age. With age groups starting at 10 year olds, CVJG gives young children a chance to get a feel for individual stroke play competition. Advanced Junior Golf There are many options available for the higher level junior golfers. From tours like the National Junior Golf Tour that play all over the Carolinas to the ultra-competitive American Junior Golf Association, that play all across the country and include a few international events. The staff at Rock Barn Golf Academy will work with your child to figure out what is in their best interest. Andy Zachowicz PGA, Director of Instruction Andy started his golf career immediately after college. As a 4-year captain of his collegiate team, Andy learned he had a passion for helping others improve their game. After getting his feet wet at a local driving range, he dove into teaching full time, where he gave more than 12,000 lessons over the next 8 years. Andy has given lessons to people of all ages, skill levels, and abilities. He has a strong passion and love for the game, and looks forwards to helping your game!

4 TENNIS CPS It s no secret that tennis is one of the greatest sports out there. It requires endurance and concentration, but tennis is also a lot of fun. If your child is intrigued with this sport of a lifetime then now is the time to nurture this interest. It doesn t matter what skill level your child is currently at, they will be able to receive tennis lessons designed just for them, ensuring they leave our tennis camp a better player than when they arrived. 5 Junior Academy Ages This summer Rock Barn is offering a unique and specially designed program for Teens called Junior Tennis Academy, for ages They will learn High School and College Tennis Team Preparations. The Junior Tennis Academy tennis program will have the finest individual and group instructions in stroke fundamentals, net play, footwork, rules and etiquette and general strategy. Dates: Monday-Thursday from 10:30am-12:00pm.Every week through the Summer, except the week of the July 4th. Rock Barn Members: $30 per week Non-Members: $45 per week If your child is a tournament player and they are 12 and under then they are welcome to come and join our Junior Tennis Academy. Tennis Camps Our Summer Tennis Camps have been going strong for decades with an exciting mix of tennis, swimming, and other sports and activities with a focus on fun, friends, and fundamentals. Whether you're child is a true beginner or advancing to become a good tennis player, this camp is what you're looking for. Every attendee participates in a daily warm-up activity/game and then split up depending on either age group and/or skill level. For the rest of the half-day camp, there are tennis activities that have a specific theme/topic of the day. Scott has played junior college and Division II tennis. Under Scott s leadership Rock Barn is having a number of tournaments and a very successful Pro. Scott also has clinic and activities for adults and juniors of all ages. I have visited and played at many tennis clubs in my career, and Rock Barn is one of the best tennis settings ever. ~Scott Nestor Shanda Hedrick, USPTA Assistant Tennis Pro Shanda has over 5 years of teaching and playing experience, she is a professional level certified USPTA tennis instructor with certificates in USTA 10 and under tennis for kids. Shanda plans and coordinates many of Rock Barn s very successful tournaments and summer camp programs for both our junior and adult leagues. She specializes in clinics and activities for adult beginners and juniors, and children 10 and under. Shanda is also our clay court specialist, which is why Rock Barn has the best hydro clay courts in all of the Foothills league.

6 AQUATICS CENTER Summers at Rock Barn are fun-filled. In addition to an Olympic-size outdoor swimming pool, there is a toddlers pool, which is enclosed for easy parental supervision. Complete with a bathhouse as well as a snack bar, the Aquatics Center is the hub of activity for families during the Summer. Certified lifeguards are always on watch. Swim Lessons Our highly-trained certified lifeguards offer private and semiprivate lessons for infants up to adults.you can choose from group swim lessons or one-on-one lessons, but no matter what you decide on, your little one will have a splash Swim Lessons (5) 1/2 -Hour Lessons $100 (6) Group Lessons $85 Lessons can be scheduled by calling Private Lessons will be individually scheduled. 7 EQUESTRIAN CENTER summer horsemanship day camp june 27 th 29 th The Horsemanship Day Camp Program at Rock Barn is tailored to meet the needs of horse lovers age 7 to 16 years at beginning levels and higher. Younger students with previous experience and currently enrolled in formal riding lessons may be accepted with prior approval. Activities include rider position, trail riding and safety. Advanced riders may work on advanced skills. SPACE IS LIMITED ENROLL EARLY Camp Staff Shelby Banning Camp Director Equestrian Center Manager Shelby has dedicated her whole life to horses and horse welfare. Her background includes Degrees in Animal Science, Colt Training to Grand Prix dressage and polo. Dana Dewey Riding Instructor Dana has been a full time professional horse trainer and Certified ARIA riding instructor for over 35 years.
