You can find them on the district website and attached to this E-News. A reminder to students that PSEO and Flex Credit applications are due on May 1. Any questions see you counselor. Next week is MORP week! Get pumped up for PROM! Monday: My-Team-Apparel Monday, Tuesday: Tank Tuesday Wednesday: Frat Day Thursday: Thrift Shop Day Friday: Suit and Tie Day Remember to wear your apparel to support your favorite team on Monday. Have you ever wanted to learn to swing dance or do the merengue? Well next week is your chance to learn! On Wednesday, May 1st and Friday May 3rd there will be FREE ballroom dance lessons right after school in the upper gym taught by the one and only Michael Scoggins! Everybody is welcome to learn. Hope to see you all there. Students bringing a guest to Prom that is not a THS student must pick up a permission form from the main office. The form must be completed and signed by parents and the guest s building principal before tickets may be purchased. The last day to buy tickets with this form will be Thursday, May 2. Prom tickets will go on sale Thursday, April 25. Mr. McWilliams is planning two new clubs for next year. The first one is an Explorers Troupe; this would be a group that would meet every 2 weeks, and plan different types of camping adventures in the area. We would use the MU Outdoor Pursuit Center for lessons on rock climbing, camping in the winter, and other information. The students will
2 get together, plan their trips, and then we will all go. The next group is a bicycle polo club. This group would meet weekly about learning how to play bicycle polo and playing it as a sport. We would also be modifying bicycles for this purpose, which students would either bring or I would find donations for this. Both of these would be coed and open to all high school students. Attention all THS performing artists: The Setting Stone Coffee House is coming! Signups are happening right now! If you are interested in performing at this one-of-a-kind Talawanda event, stop by Mr. Aerni's room (320)! Sign-ups end this Friday, so make sure to get signed up before spots fill up! Seniors: The date has changed for delivery of graduation announcements. Jostens will deliver them on Friday, May 3 during lunch in the cafeteria. Cap and gown orders will be delivered on Tuesday, May 14 during lunch. If you have not ordered a cap and gown yet, we recommend you do so immediately! You may place your order while they are at THS delivering other orders or by calling Jostens at Staff/Student Recognition: Congratulations to the following FCCLA members who competed at State Competition on Thursday and Friday. Bryce Stivers and Kayla Anders- Silver rating Chapter Showcase Manual Julie Norton- Gold rating Fashion Design Shelby Sterwerf- Gold rating Career Investigation Clara Stanley- Gold rating Fashion Construction Dana Stumph and Megan McCracken- Gold rating Chapter Service Manual Julie Norton, Clara Stanley, Dana Stumph and Megan McCracken will be representing Talawanda at the National FCCLA Conference in Nashville, TN in July The men's JV tennis team lost a hard fought battle to Wilmington Tuesday night 1-4. This puts them at 4-4 on the season. The lone win was posted at 1st singles by Ryan Danielson. The Braves are back in action Wednesday at St. X. Congratulations to the boys and girls track teams for their great performance Tuesday at the Dale Plank Invitational on Senior Night. The girls won the team championship in dramatic fashion, with the meet coming down to the last event with three teams within 2 points. The girls won 3 out of 4 relays and scored in all but one running event for a solid team effort. The boys made a determined charge to bring home the victory, but fell just short in finishing second. Also scoring in every event but one, the boys had five individual winners and a relay victory for a great overall performance.
