Chapter 1 Intrductin Thank yu fr selecting Frte Mbile Payments t prcess yur mbile payment transactins. We at Frte appreciate yur business. Frte prcesses transactins fr merchants, including credit card, debit card and echecks. Once yur Merchant Settings are prperly cnfigured, yu can begin using the Frte mbile app t accept credit card, debit card and echeck payments frm yur custmers. The Frte mbile app will prcess the transactins in real time and apprve r decline the transactin. This guide is intended fr users f the Frte iphne mbile app. Please see Appendix A fr a list f supprted devices and Operating Systems. If yu want t prcess credit card transactins with the Frte mbile app, yu must have a MagTek idynam device. If yu dn t have an idynam, please call yur sales representative r Custmer Service. Chapter 2 Merchant Settings Befre yu begin, make sure that yu have yur Merchant ID (MID) and passwrd frm Frte. This infrmatin is listed in the welcme letter the primary cntact received frm Frte when the merchant accunt was set up. If yu d nt knw yur Merchant ID and passwrd, please call Frte Custmer Service at 800-337-3060, ptin 1. First time users will need t: T dwnlad the app g t itunes.cm r frte.net and chse ur iphne app. Yu can dwnlad the Frte mbile app fr the iphne free f charge. Once the app is installed, click n the Frte Mbile Payments icn. When yu initially pen the Frte Mbile Payments app, yu will be prmpted t allw yur lcatin infrmatin t be used. Select OK. The app will start in Dem Mde. The app will read Dem Mde at the tp. Cnfigure the app t wrk fr yur Merchant ID (MID): Select the Menu buttn frm the upper left-hand crner f the app. Select Merchant Settings frm the Menu and yu will be taken t Settings: 2013 Frte Prprietary and Cnfidential 4

Yu must enter the fllwing infrmatin befre yu can begin prcessing payments: Default Sale Screen If mst f yur sales are credit card transactins, then select Credit Card at the tp f the Merchant Settings screen. If mst f yur transactins will be echecks, then select echeck as yur default sale screen. Receipt Infrmatin Enter yur Business Name, Address, City, State, Zip and Phne Number. The infrmatin that yu enter here will appear n the transactin receipts. Signature Required (Recmmended Setting: Yes) Select whether r nt yu require the cnsumer t sign the receipt. echeck Supprt Select whether r nt yu want echeck supprt. If yu want t accept echecks and yur Frte accunt is set up t accept echecks, select Yes (check mark). Otherwise, select N (X). If yu want t accept echecks but yur accunt isn t set up fr echecks, please call yur Sales Representative t request echeck prcessing. Receipt Required (Recmmended Setting: Yes) If yu need a cpy f every receipt, select yes and then put the email address that yu want the receipt sent t in the bx underneath. If yu check yes, then the applicatin will autmatically bring up a receipt fr every apprved transactin with the email address that yu entered in the T field. Yu still have t press Send. yu selected Signature Required, then the Signature will als be attached t the receipt. Smetimes, a cardhlder may cntact their bank regarding a charge that appeared n their statement because they d nt recgnize r recall the charge. In thse cases, the bank may request a cpy f the sales receipt. In rder r t satisfy the assciatin requirements fr prviding a cpy f the receipt, it is recmmended that yu set Signature Required t Yes and Receipts Required t Yes. If the bank requests a cpy f the receipt, ur Risk Department will cntact yu fr a cpy f a sales receipt and yu will be able t prvide them with a receipt. Yu may be subject t a chargeback if yu are nt able t prvide the receipt when requested. User Defined Fields Select whether yu want any user defined fields. Yu may have nne, ne r tw. Examples f user defined fields wuld be Custmer Number r Plicy Number. This infrmatin, when entered during the sale prcess, will be available n reprts and exprts frm Frte t aid in recnciliatin. If yu want user defined fields, enter the name(s) f the fields as yu want them t appear n the Sale screen. Example: Custmer Number. Credit Card/eCheck Cnvenience Fees Select whether yu want cnvenience fees added t yur transactins fr credit card transactins and/r echeck transactins. If yu wish t assess cnvenience fees, they must als be set up n yur Frte accunt. Cnvenience fees must be clearly disclsed t the cnsumer in advance. If yu are assessing cnvenience fees, yu may select a fixed fee (i.e. $1.00) r a percentage f the sale (i.e. 2%). Nte: When 2013 Frte Prprietary and Cnfidential 6

using a percentage cnvenience fee, the cnvenience fee cannt be lwer than the minimum cnvenience fee set n yur accunt. Sales Tax Select whether r nt yu want the app t autmatically add sales tax t all transactins. If yu d, yu will need t enter the sales tax rate yu want autmatically added t all transactins. Prductin Settings Set Prductin t On. Yu must enter the Merchant ID (MID) and Prcessing Passwrd that were assigned by Frte when the merchant accunt was set up. The Prcessing Passwrd is different than the passwrd that yu use t lg in t Virtual Terminal. If yu d nt knw yur Merchant ID and/r Transactin Prcessing Passwrd, please call Frte Custmer Service at 800-337-3060, ptin 1. Chse a lcal passwrd that yu will remember. The lcal passwrd shuld be smething secure that wuld nt be easily guessed. The lcal passwrd must be at least six characters and is case sensitive. The lcal passwrd will be used fr all subsequent lgins t the Frte mbile app. Select the timeut value, in hurs, after which yu will be required t re-enter yur lcal passwrd when bringing up the applicatin. Tips Select whether yu want custmers t be allwed t add a tip t a transactin. Press Save t save yur Merchant Settings. Yu will be taken t the Main Menu. Yu are nw ready t begin using the Frte mbile app fr prcessing transactins. 2013 Frte Prprietary and Cnfidential 8

Chapter 3 Prcessing Transactins Once yu have set up yur Merchant Settings the way that yu want, yu may begin prcessing transactins. T prcess a transactin, select Sale frm the main menu. Credit Card Sale T prcess a credit card transactin, make sure Credit Card is selected at the tp f the Sale screen. Enter the amunt f the transactin. Swipe the credit card frm right t left. Make sure that the custmer s name appears in the name field and a truncated card number appears in the card number field. Press Next. If yu set yur Merchant Settings fr sales tax and/r cnvenience fees, thse fields will appear n the signature screen and will be autmatically ppulated, s yu dn t need t enter any data. 2013 Frte Prprietary and Cnfidential 9

If yu require a signature r if yu allw tips, hand the phne t the custmer. The custmer can add a tip and/r sign. The custmer will need sign the receipt with a fingertip. Next, the cnsumer will need t press Accept. The phne will ding if the transactin is apprved. The next screen will tell yu whether the transactin was apprved r declined. Yu have the ptin t send the custmer a receipt. Yu can nly send receipts fr apprved transactins. 2013 Frte Prprietary and Cnfidential 10

Yu may send a receipt via email r SMS. The SMS functinality des nt wrk n ipds. Yu r the custmer can enter the custmer s phne number r email address. Yu must press Send t send the receipt. After yu press Send, yu will g back t the screen that tells yu whether the transactin was apprved r declined. Press Dne. echeck Sale T prcess an echeck transactin, make sure that echeck is selected at the tp f the Sale screen. Enter the amunt f the transactin. Enter the first and last name f the custmer. Enter the bank ruting and transit number in the field Ruting #. The ruting and transit number is usually the left-mst field n the bttm f the check and is nine digits lng. Yu must enter all nine digits. Enter the checking accunt number frm the bttm f the check. Yu must enter the checking accunt number exactly as it appears n the bttm f the check, including leading zers. Example: If the checking accunt number is 0001234567 yu must enter exactly that in the checking accunt number field: 0001234567. If yu selected any user defined fields, enter them. If yu selected tax r cnvenience fees, they will autmatically be added t the transactin. Hand the phne t the custmer t add a tip and/r sign if required. Next, the custmer will need t press Accept. If yu have ATMVerify turned n fr yur Merchant ID, an ATMVerify transactin will be perfrmed when yu submit the transactin. On the screen that tells yu whether the transactin was apprved r declined, yu have the ptin t send the custmer a receipt. Yu can nly send receipts fr apprved transactins. Yu may send a receipt via email r SMS. The SMS functin is nly available n devices that have texting capability. See Appendix A fr SMS capability by device. Either yu r the custmer can enter the custmer s phne number r email address. Press Send t send the receipt. After yu press Send, yu will g back t the screen that tells yu whether the transactin was apprved r declined. Press Dne. Chapter 4 Daily Transactin Detail The Daily Transactin Detail lists all the transactins fr the current calendar day. It shws yu: The transactin amunt. Whether the transactin was apprved r declined. The authrizatin number fr the transactin. The date and time f the transactin. The last fur digits f the accunt number. Whether it was a Credit Card sale r an echeck sale. Yu can select any transactin by clicking n it. Frm the individual transactin detail screen, when applicable, yu can: Vid the transactin, r Resend a receipt fr the transactin. Yu cannt vid r resend the receipt fr a declined transactin. Only the buttns fr allwable functins fr the transactin in questin are available. If they are nt available, the buttns will be grayed ut. If yu need t prcess a refund fr a transactin, yu can lg in t ur Virtual Terminal frm any cmputer at www.paymentsgateway.net. 2013 Frte Prprietary and Cnfidential 16

Chapter 5 Daily Summary The Daily Summary shws yu the credit card sales, echeck sales and ttal sales fr the calendar day. Only apprved transactins are included in the ttals n the Daily Summary. Glssary Apprval An apprval is a transactin apprved by the credit prvider r the check writer s bank. Apprvals are granted after an authrizatin has been requested by a merchant. Authrizatin Only used fr credit card transactins, an authrizatin is a request frm a merchant t charge a cardhlder. If apprved, the authrizatin will decrease the custmer s available credit, but will nt actually capture any funds. An authrizatin is the first step in the delayed settlement prcess. This ccurs when the merchant btains an apprval, but it is nt settled within a specific perid f time, causing the authrizatin t expire. The credit prvider determines the delay perid. Authrizatin Cde Decline echeck Numeric r alphanumeric cde issued by the credit prvider and used t reference the authrizatin. A transactin which is nt apprved by the credit prvider/issuer. N authrizatin is issued. An electrnic versin r representatin f a paper check. Merchant ID (MID) This is the identificatin number fr yur rganizatin, used by Frte t identify yu in all cmmunicatins. It is critical that anyne cntacting Frte fr assistance knw this ID number. Partial Refund Refund A partial refund is a transactin that electrnically reverses part f a payment frm a custmer. A partial refund wuld generally be perfrmed if the custmer returns sme, but nt all, f the gds that they purchased. A refund is a transactin that electrnically reverses a payment frm a custmer. Ruting and Transit The ruting and transit number is lcated n the bttm f the check and identifies the bank that the check is drawn upn. U.S. ruting and transits are nine digit numbers that begin with 01-39. Settlement SSL Vid In this prcess, authrized transactins are sent t the prcessr fr payment t the merchant. This prcess finalizes the transactin and allws funds due t the merchant t be captured and ruted t the merchant s bank fr depsit. In ther wrds, the merchant cannt be paid until the transactin is settled. It can take several days fr funds t reach settlement. Credit card settlement may be within ne day, while settlement fr checks may take up t 90 days. SSL is an acrnym fr Secure Sckets Layer, a cmmunicatins prtcl used t transmit private dcuments r infrmatin via the Internet. SSL encrypts data using a private key that is transferred ver the SSL cnnectin. Websites that require an SSL cnnectin have an address that begins with https:// rather than http://. T vid a transactin is t cancel ne that has been authrized, but nt yet settled. Settled transactins may nt be vided. Instead, they must be reversed. 2013 Frte Prprietary and Cnfidential 20
