1 State Bank Virtual Card FAQs 1) What is State Bank Virtual Card? State Bank Virtual Card is a limit Debit card, which can be created using the State Bank Internet Banking facility fr ecmmerce (nline) transactins. The Card can be used t shp nline at any merchant website that accepts Visa Cards, withut any difference frm a regular plastic Card. The Card will be issued by marking a lien n the selected accunt and actual debit t the accunt will take place nly when the Card is used. 2) What is an e-cmmerce (nline) transactin? Electrnic cmmerce, cmmnly knwn as e-cmmerce, refers t the buying and selling f prducts r services ver electrnic systems such as the Internet and ther cmputer netwrks. 3) In general, what are the features f Virtual Cards? Mre secure It reduces the risk f expsing the underlying Credit/Debit limit as the Primary Card / Accunt details are nt cmmunicated t the Merchant. Card is valid up t a maximum f 48 hurs r till the transactin is cmplete, whichever is earlier. as Card creatin and nline transactin is authrised nly after successful validatin f One Time Passwrd (OTP) sent t yur Mbile during the prcess. Highly Flexible It enables Bank custmers t pay frm any f their Internet Banking enabled accunts, having transactin rights. Card can be created fr any amunt, frm Rs. 100 t Rs. 50,000 (Rund rupees) Card can be used at any nline merchant site that accepts Visa Cards. Easy t Use N separate setup/ installatin r registratin is required. Any custmer having internet banking facility with transactin rights can create Virtual Card. Zer Lss: N lss f interest as the Card is generated by marking a lien n the underlying accunt and the amunt is debited nly when actual transactin using the Virtual Card is cmpleted, successfully. 4) Is my Virtual Card safer? Yes, the custmer details (yur bank accunt N., mbile N., address, etc) are nt shared with Merchant / Vendr. The Card is a single usage card, i.e nce used successfully it cannt be reused. The available windw fr Card usage is limited t a maximum perid f 48 hrs. Card is created using secure Internet Banking website and Card limit is decided at the time f creatin. Bth Card creatin and usage during nline transactin are authrised nly after successful validatin f OTP, making it mre secure. (Refer Q3 abve)

2 5) What are the advantages fr using Virtual Card fr e-cmmerce transactins? Virtual Card prvides an easy and secure way f transacting nline withut prviding the Primary Card/ Accunt infrmatin t the merchant. It reduces the risk f expsing entire Credit/ Debit limit/ as the Primary Card/ Accunt infrmatin is nt cmmunicated t the merchant. Card is valid fr a Max. f 48 hurs r till the transactin is cmplete. The amunt is debited nly when actual purchase, using the Virtual Card, is cmpleted successfully. 6) Wh can create Virtual Card? All custmers f State Bank f India having Internet Banking facility with transactin rights, can create the Card n-line. 7) D i require separate registratin t avail Virtual Card facility? N separate registratin / enrllment is required. Any Internet Banking custmer with transactin rights can avail this facility. 8) Hw can I create Virtual Card? i. Lgin t yur nline banking accunt ( and click n Requests r e-cards tab and select State Bank Virtual Card ptin. ii. Click n Generate Virtual Card tab. iii. Enter the amunt and select an accunt which will be debited fr funding (initially lien-marking and later debiting) the Virtual Card. iv. Enter the secure 8-digit passwrd (OTP), received n yur mbile. v. After successful validatin, Card image with Card N., expiry date, etc will be displayed n the screen and yur Card is nw created and available fr e-cmmerce transactin. 9) Can I generate my Virtual Cards frm any Cmputer / Device? r D I need special applicatin t create virtual Card? Yu can generate Virtual Card frm any cmputer / device that has internet access and a cmpatible brwser i.e can pen Bank s Internet Banking website ( All yu need is an Internet cnnectin and a cmpatible brwser. Recmmended brwser: Internet Explrer versin 5.5 and abve r Mzilla Firefx 1.5 and abve. 10) Where can I use my Virtual Card? Yu can use yur Virtual Card at all merchant websites in India that accept VISA/ MasterCard Debit Cards as a payment ptin (payment in Indian Rupee). Hwever, sites such as the adult entertainment-sites, gambling-sites, etc, have been prhibited.

3 Nte: Virtual Card cannt be used at PS machines r ATMs fr cash withdrawal r fr recurring/ instalments payments r fr any ther transactin that requires physical card. * please check the merchant s plicy carefully. 11) Hw can I use my Virtual Card? i. Select required gds / services n merchant website. ii. Select State Bank Debit Card / Visa Card frm the payment ptins. iii. Enter the Virtual Card details n the website. iv. Enter yur secure 8-Digit passwrd (OTP), received n yur mbile. v. After successful validatin, yu will receive SMS n yur registered mbile cnfirming the transactin. vi. After the transactin, the Card will be de-activated and cannt be used again. 12) What is an OTP? OTP is One Time Passwrd (Eight digits numerical) which is generated by bank fr validating card creatin and fr cnfirming merchant transactin. 13) What if I d nt receive OTP? If yu have truble receiving yur OTP, please click n the link prvided at the bttm f the webpage and if yu still face prblem, please call helpline number t check whether yur mbile is registered with Net Banking r nt. 14) Hw many times OTP can be entered? Yu can make maximum three attempts t enter the OTP. Yur Card will be blcked n the 4th attempt, fr security reasns, and yu will nt be allwed t d any transactin using this Card. 15) What will happen if I enter wrng OTP fr 3 times? If wrng OTP is entered fr cnsecutive 3 times, Bank will blck yur Virtual Card and yu will nt be allwed t reuse r unblck the card, as a security measure. Hwever, yu can cancel the Card t release the lien marked amunt and if the Card is nt cancelled it will expire autmatically in maximum 48 hrs frm the time f creatin, and the lien n the blcked amunt will be released. 16) Can I unblck my Virtual Card? N, nce the Card is blcked yu cannt unblck r reuse the card. 17) What will happen t the amunt, nce my Card is blcked? The amunt will be shwn as lien marked n the accunt. Yu can chse t cancel the Card t remve the lien and release the fund.

4 Hwever, n expiry f the Card (i.e. within 48 hrs frm the time f creatin) the lien n the amunt will be autmatically released. 18) Can I earn interest n the balance? Yes, Since the Card is generated by marking a lien and the amunt is debited nly when actual transactin is cmpleted successfully, yu cntinue t enjy the interest, as applicable n yur accunt, n the Virtual Card balance. 19) When will my accunt get debited? The amunt will be debited frm the accunt nly when actual purchase using the Virtual Card is cmpleted successfully. 20) Is there any minimum r maximum limit fr the Card generatin? Yes, currently the minimum amunt fr which a Card can be created is Rs 100/- while the maximum amunt is Rs 50,000/- (per Card). 21) Can I create mre than ne Card r are there any limits n Card creatin? Yes, yu can create any number f Cards subject t sufficient balance in the underlying accunt and with a maximum limit f Rs. 50,000/- per Card. 22) Can I re-lad/tp-up my Virtual Card? N, the Card is ne-time/single-use card and cannt be reladed/ tpped up. 23) What will be the validity f my Virtual Card? The card will expire: As sn as the transactin is cmpleted. r If the Card is cancelled. r The Card is nt used fr 48 hurs after creatin. (Whichever is earlier.) Please Nte: The expiry date mentined n Card image may vary frm actual expiry date f the Virtual Card. The expiry date n the Card is in the mm/yy frmat and is nly fr the purpse f inputting while ding a transactin using the Card. It des nt reflect the actual expiry date f the card, which is Max. 48 Hrs. 24) Can I reuse (d multiple purchases with) my Virtual Card befre expiry? N; the Card is ne-time use Card and will get de-activated nce used successfully. 25) Can I use my Virtual Card fr partial amunt? Yes; yu can use yur Virtual Card fr partial amunt, prvided the amunt is belw the Card value.

5 26) If the Card is used fr an amunt lwer than the card value, what will happen t remaining value? The remaining (unutilised) value is autmatically released back t yur accunt after the card is used. 27) What will happen t the amunt, if I d nt use my Virtual Card and the card has expired? The lien marked n the underlying accunt will be released autmatically after expiry f the Card. 28) I have generated a Virtual Card and dn t want t use it. What shuld I d? Yu can simply cancel yur Virtual Card, using Cancel Virtual Card ptin n and the lien marked n the amunt will get released. If nt cancelled, the Card will expire in 48 hrs after creatin and the lien will be autmatically released. 29) Hw can I cancel my Virtual Card? 1. Lgin t yur nline banking accunt ( and click n Requests r e-cards tab and select State Bank Virtual Card ptin. 2. Click n Cancel Virtual Card tab. 3. After yu cnfirm the actin, the lien n the amunt will be autmatically released. 30) When will my accunt get credited after cancellatin? Immediately n cancellatin, the lien will be released. (Hwever, it may take few minutes in sme cases) 31) Hw can I view the Virtual Card details and the transactin dne n the Card? 1. Lgin t yur nline banking accunt ( and click n Requests r e-cards tab and select State Bank Virtual Card ptin. 2. Click n Virtual Card Details. The screen will display all Cards created using the nline banking alng with Card Number, creatin date, Expiry, limit amunt, used amunt, status etc. 3. Click n the specific Card number t view the cmplete Card details. (viz. Name, Issue Date, Expiry, Merchant Name, CVV2, Limit Amunt, Status, Surce Accunt N. etc) 32) Can I view all the Cards created and the transactins dne n each Card? Yu will be able t view all the Cards and transactin histry f each Card created during past 3 mnths (with limit f max. 100 Cards). 6 33) Is my Virtual Card an Internatinal Card? N, the Virtual Card is a dmestic Card and can be used fr nline payment in Indian Rupee (INR) in India, Nepal and Bhutan nly. 34) Can I use my Card fr payment in a currency ther than Indian Rupees? N, currently the Virtual Card can be used fr payments in INR nly. 35) Is there any issuance charge r any annual fee fr using Virtual Card? N issuance / annual fee is charged currently. The facility is available t all Internet Banking custmers free f cst. 36) Will the Bank guarantee timely delivery / quality f the gds/ services if purchased thrugh Virtual Card? N, the Bank shall nt guarantee r be respnsible fr delivery / quality f the gds purchased using Virtual Card. 37) If I suspect that smene has seen my Virtual Card details, can smene use it fr fraudulent transactins? As the card usage is prtected thrugh OTP (One Time Passwrd), which is nly sent t the custmer s registered mbile phne, the chances f fraudulent transactin are very lw. Hwever, the custmer must take adequate precautin t ensure that the Card details are nt disclsed t any persn wh may misuse it. 38) If I find that an unauthrised transactin has been dne using my Virtual Card, what shuld I d? Yu can reprt the same at State Bank helpline at (Tll free) r yur cmplaint t [email protected] r [email protected]. 39) Can I withdraw Cash using my Virtual Card? N; the Card can be used nly fr making nline payments in INR n merchant websites that accept "VISA/MasterCard Debit Cards. 40) Can I use this Card fr Mail Order r Telephne Order (MOTO) purchases? N, the Card can be used nly fr making nline payments in INR at sites that accept the "VISA/MasterCard Debit Cards. Currently, this facility is nt available n this Card.
