saints healthcare FUNDS news Spring 2014 New Name Same Mission! The Saints Healthcare Foundation name was changed in January 2014 to Saints Healthcare Funds. While the name has changed slightly, our mission has not. We are still the same organization raising funds for St. Francis Regional Medical Center and St. Gertrude s Health & Rehabilitation Center. Saints Healthcare Funds is the umbrella fundraising organization for the St. Gertrude s Foundation and the St. Francis Development Office. either St. Francis or St. Gertrude s. The mission of Saints Healthcare Funds will continue to focus on the resources needed to meet the healthcare needs of the communities served by both St. Francis and St. Gertrude s. We are excited about the work done in 2013 and how it will help us continue the path of being one of the leading health care campuses in the area. Thank you for your continued support and commitment to Saints Healthcare Funds! This change simply allows the opportunity for community members to better designate their financial contribution to Integrative health therapy experiences Co-Chairs Cindy Anderson and Steve Snider

The Spirit of the Saints Gala Thanks to all our sponsors, donors and guests who joined us for a spectacular evening at Mystic Lake Casino Hotel, as we celebrated the high quality of care that St. Francis Regional Medical Center and St. Gertrude s Health and Rehabilitation Center provide to the people we serve. The Spirit of the Saints Gala raised $201,000 to support programs providing integrative health therapies at St. Francis and St. Gertrude s. Integrative health empowers individuals and residents to heal better, reduce stress and anxiety, and in general improve their health and wellness through a holistic approach that focuses on the whole person mind, body and spirit. The Gift of Touch... What does it mean to achieve optimal health and well-being? The answer to that question is as varied as each individual. Integrative health empowers individuals and residents to improve their health and wellness through an integrated and holistic approach. The mind, body and spirit are interconnected. At St. Francis Regional Medical Center and St. Gertrude's Health and Rehabilitation Center, we care for the whole person and empower our patients to discover their best health - mind, body and spirit. Patients or residents can struggle with insomnia, pain, nausea, fatigue, anxiety and stress. Integrative therapies can help. While in our care, integrative health therapies may be requested as a part of the patients care at no cost. When integrative therapies are used, patients and residents frequently experience increased relaxation, symptom reduction and an increased sense of well-being. Therapies offered include: acupressure/acupuncture, healing touch, guided imagery, therapeutic massage, aromatherapy, music therapy, reflexology, integrative health and relaxation techniques. At St. Francis, integrative health therapies are achieved in partnership with the Penny George Institute for Health and Healing. These holistic therapies help the body's natural ability to heal and make a powerful difference in people's lives. In 2013, the Spirit of the Saints Gala and Tee One for Hope Golf Tournament raised funds to support integrative health therapies at St. Francis and St. Gertrude's. Thank you to all sponsors and attendees for your generous support of integrative health. If you would like to make a gift in support of the healing powers of integrative health, you may use the enclosed envelope or visit our website at www.saintshealthcarefunds.org. Help us provide resources for all those who come to us in need of integrative care. Thank you for embracing the whole person... body, mind and spirit... through your generous gift. 3
