Quick Start Guide: MyNetFone VoIP App App Setup 1. Download the MyNetFone VoIP App from itunes onto your iphone and open the App. 2. Select the Settings menu in the bottom left corner, and then select Account on the screen. 3. Enter your MyNetFone VoIP Username and Password. New Customers: you need to sign up for a MyNetFone VoIP plan (click here to see the plans) once signed up, you will receive a Service Confirmation email with the Username and Password. Existing Customers: you can use a spare SIP Endpoint on your existing account (or sign up for a second VoIP plan). Not sure how to find out if you have a spare SIP Endpoint? 4. Touch the Save button in the top left corner. The screen will show Loading while the settings are automatically configured. When the loading process is complete, the app will automatically navigate back to the Account menu. 5. Touch the Dial button in the bottom right corner. If the VoIP Username and Password were entered correctly, the status indicator next to the MyNetFone logo will turn green. 2 of 7
Using the App The main application screen has 5 panels, and each panel can be selected using the menu at the bottom of the app screen. Dial is used to dial a phone number. History is used to report on outbound, inbound and missed call history, and can be used to redial a number or call back a missed number or previously answered inbound call. Recorded calls will also be stored in this panel. Favourites is used to easily access the list of favourite contacts. Contacts is used to access the list of all contacts in the iphone or any other contact group. Settings is used to configure your VoIP service account. 1. Making Calls From here, you can dial numbers with the numerical buttons and use the phone handset icon to activate the call. Voicemail Use the Green and Blue Recording icon to enter the voicemail system, which is included for free with all MyNetFone VoIP Plans. Voicemail icon 3 of 7
Active Call While on an active call, the interface menu will change. Calling in progress Establishing call connection Call connected Hold During an Active Call, you can place the call on hold by tapping the Hold icon. While a call is on hold, the Hold icon will be highlighted. To return from hold, tap the Hold icon again. Hold icon Call on Hold 4 of 7
Transfer During an active call, you can transfer the call to a 3 rd party. This will be a blind transfer, which means you will not be able to talk with the 3 rd party in between the call. To transfer the call: Tap the Transfer icon in the interface menu while on an active call. Your contact list will pop up and you can choose to transfer the call to your existing phone contacts. Initial release of this app only allows you to transfer calls to a number within your existing contacts list. This will be addressed in future app updates. 2. Call Recording During an Active Call, you can record the conversation. To record a call: Tap the Record icon in the interface menu while on an active call. To end the recording, tap the icon again. To play the recording, tap the History panel from the main app interface, and then tap the Record sub-panel. 3. Closing the app Leave running in background If you want to close the MyNetFone VoIP App on your screen, but leave it running in the background, so you can still receive incoming calls to your MyNetFone number press the Home button once only on your iphone. Completely close the app If you want to completely close the app so it is no longer running in the background - doubletap the Home button and follow the steps below: 1. Double-tapping the Home button on your iphone will bring up the iphone Fast App Switcher. 2. While you are in the Fast App Switcher mode, touch and hold any app icon for 2 seconds. If this is done correctly, the app icons will wobble and have mini - icons on each of them. 3. Touch on the MyNetFone VoIP App s - icon to stop the app running in the background. Note: do this only on the Fast App Switcher screen as shown if you do this on the iphone main screen, this will uninstall the app entirely. 7 of 7
