1 Requirements iphone, ipad or ipod Touch with iphone OS v 3.0 or higher Dolphin Imaging Version 11.0 build 39 or higher, or 11.5 beta build 21 or higher Dolphin Premium Version of Dolphin Imaging. Dolphin Premium Security Utilities v or higher Your system must meet current Dolphin Imaging Technical Specs, please review here: Current Dolphin Imaging Service Contract itunes version 9.0 or higher Verify Dolphin Imaging Version Go to Help About in Dolphin Imaging to check the version of Dolphin Imaging installed. If you are not on the required version of Dolphin Imaging, the correct version will be released to you via the Dolphin Update Service. The Dolphin Update Service will install the update, using your preferred configuration on the Settings Tab. Download License file with # of Dolphin Mobile Client Licenses The licensing for Dolphin Mobile is controlled via a small license file that can be downloaded via the Dolphin Update Service (DUS). Open DUS via right clicking on the DUS Icon on the system tray, go to the About tab and click Refresh License to download your license file. It should only take a few seconds to download the file. Download / Install Dolphin Premium Security Utilities The updated Dolphin Premium Security Utilities installer will be released to you via the Dolphin Update Service. Once Downloaded, the installer must be run manually on each computer / server with Dolphin Imaging installed. To do so, open DUS (right click on the Dolphin on the taskbar) the go to the Updates tab and choose Install Updates. 2 After the Security Utilities have installed and Dolphin Imaging is opened, you will see a series of messages as your database is updated. This is expected. The update process will take several minutes to complete. Once complete the login screen will appear, If this is the initial installation of the Premium Security Utilities, the default login is User Name = admin, Password = admin Also, once you have logged in, you can optionally create user names and passwords for each employee. To do so, go to Edit Employees If you have previously configured a User Name / Password to login to Dolphin Imaging, login as an administrator. NOTE: For more information on the Dolphin Premium Security Utilities now enabled, please open the DOLPHIN.PDF found in \DOLPHIN and review Chapter 24 - Securities Configure Dolphin Ocean Server The Dolphin Mobile application accesses the practice data via a designated computer in the office that acts as the Dolphin Ocean Server. This can be any computer in the office that meets the following requirements: Has inbound and outbound internet access Remains ON at all times, allowing access 24 / 7 Has Dolphin Premium Security Utilities v or higher installed Has.NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1 installed NOTES: The Dolphin Ocean Server runs as a Service on the designated computer. We recommend designating a server in the office to act as your Dolphin Ocean Server since servers generally meet these requirements. Only one computer in the office must be designated as the Dolphin Ocean Server. Dolphin Ocean and Dolphin Mobile Installation and Configuration Guide Page 2 of 11

3 By default, the admin account has the rights to administer the Dolphin Ocean Server. Additionally, any user can be granted the rights to work with the Dolphin Ocean admin screen. Go to Edit Edit Employee Rights Select the employee Click on security right to set. On the computer designated as the Dolphin Ocean Server, go to Tools -> Dolphin Ocean Client Admin. Select the option Install Service to initiate the installation of the Dolphin Ocean Service. The following screen is presented and you are asked to enter a network account name and password: NOTES: The network account must be a valid domain or computer account. The default is the currently logged in network account. This account must have the network rights granting full access to the data server and image server. We recommend this account have a non-expiring password. The network account needs to be granted Log On as a Service rights. This can be found under Control Panel Administrative Tools Local Security Policy Local Policies User Rights assignments add the user you wish to have this right. After entering a properly configured Account name and Password, it should only take a few moments to install the Ocean Service. 4 Configure Routers By default, the Dolphin Ocean Server is configured to use port 8085 to send and receive data. You should configure your router and/or firewall to forward public internet TCP traffic on port 8085 to the computer in your office that will be running the Dolphin Mobile Service. ** You may need to contact your local network tech for help with this step. NOTES: The Dolphin Ocean Server can be configured to support another port. If you wish to change the designed port number, edit the DOLPHIN.INI on the designated Dolphin Server and add the following: [Ocean] WebServicePort=XXXX With XXXX being the preferred port number. It is not required to add this line if port 8085 is used. Diagnostics On the Dolphin Ocean Client Admin screen, there is a Diagnostics button. When selected, this will check the following: Checks Server Connectivity attempts to connect to the configured Dolphin Ocean Server. Checks web service operability verifies the required web services are running on the Dolphin Ocean Server. If the Test passes, this indicates the Dolphin Ocean Service is up and running and the designated port number is open. If the test fails, this indicates the Dolphin Ocean Service may not be running or the port may have a firewall issue. NOTE: You can also access a third party website, like to verify the incoming port is properly open and configured. Client Install Beta Sites During beta testing, the Dolphin Mobile app will not be available on the Apple App Store for download. Please follow these instructions so we can send the software to you. 1. Download Ad Hoc Helper from the App Store to the local iphone or ipod Touch 2. Run Ad Hoc helper, in the TO: field, enter domo@dolphinimaging.com and send. 3. Upon receipt of this information, we will configure a custom DoMo install package for the device and download instructions will be ed to you. If you haven t done so, please your preferred address to domo@dolphinimaging.com. Please allow for a couple days to build the custom install package. 5 4. Once you have received the download instructions, download the installation ZIP file from the FTP site and extract the contents onto the computer you sync your iphone or ipod Touch with. 5. Open itunes, then click-drag-and-drop the domo beta_provision.mobileprovision file you extracted from the zip onto itunes Library Applications (Library is located on the pane on the left side of the itunes window). 6. 6 Client Activation 1. Go to the Settings icon on your device. 2. Scroll down and select Dolphin. 3. Enter the following information: - The practice s public IP address (i.e ) or DNS name (i.e. - myserver.dolphinorthodontics.com) - Port #: The default port # is 8085 unless you have configured the Dolphin Ocean server to support a different port. 4. Press the [Setting] key to exit Settings. 5. Tap the Dolphin icon to launch the Dolphin Mobile application. You will be presented with an activation screen and must now activate the device from Dolphin Management. 6. Login to Dolphin Imaging as admin or a user with the rights to administer the Dolphin Ocean screen, go to Tools Dolphin Ocean Client Admin. 7. On the initial connection, you ll be prompted to enter a device description. This description is displayed in the Ocean Client Administration screen, allowing you to easily see the device. 7 8. Select the device from the list of available devices and click Activate. A client activation key is automatically generated and displayed. Enter the Activation Key on the Activation and select Activate NOTE: Dolphin Mobile must be run once before the device will display in the Client Administration screen in Dolphin Imaging. 8 NOTE: After activating a device, the number of client licenses activated and available is displayed in the lower left corner: Client Login After the device has been successfully activated, you can now login to Dolphin Mobile. To do so, enter your regular Dolphin Management user name and password to login (just like you are logging into Dolphin Imaging at the office). 9 Cannot Connect The following screen is displayed when Dolphin Mobile is unable to connect to your Dolphin Ocean server. Possible reasons are: The Dolphin Ocean Server is not configured. The designated port hasn t been properly opened and / or pointed to the Dolphin Ocean Server. The Server and / or Port configuration on the device are not correct. There is no Internet access. 10 Application Options Select the icon on the main screen to access the About Screen. From here, select the [Settings] button to open application options: To set a password, move the slider to [ON] and enter a passcode To enable Timepoint Swipe, move the slider to [ON]. With Swipe Timepoints ON, this allows you to swipe vertically to scroll through the same image type between all timepoints. For example, if you select panoramic x-ray on the initial timepoint for a patient and swipe up or down, the pan is displayed for each timepoint. If no pan exits in a timepoint, a Dolphin logo is displayed. Swiping horizontally, the images for the selected timepoint are displayed. You can also use the arrow keys to scroll through images. 11 Dolphin Update Service and Global DOLPHIN.INIs The Dolphin Update Server (DUS) does not support global DOLPHIN.INI configurations. For DUS to install properly, the minimum requirement is that there is a Dolphin.INI in the Windows directory with a SYS setting in the [ENVIRONMENT] section that points to the directory where Dolphin software is installed on the computer. Once installed, DUS reads the local DOLPHIN.INI. By design, it looks in \DOLPHIN for a DOLPHIN.INI file. If it does not locate the DOLPHIN.INI, it looks in \WINDOWS for the DOLPHIN.INI. If you are using a global DOLPHIN.INI file, the [ENVIRONMENT] section present in the global DOLPHIN.INI should be present in the local copy of the DOLPHIN.INI file. Microsoft SQL Server Compatibility The Dolphin Premium Security Utilities require the compatibility level of the Dolphin database be set to SQL Server 2000 (80) or higher. When the Premium Security Utilities install, if the compatibility level is below this level, a message is displayed and the Premium Security Utilities will not install. If you receive this message, and you are running Microsoft SQ Server 2000 or higher, you can change the compatibility level via the Management Studio Utility. After making this change, SQL Server must be stopped / started for the changes to take effect. Sample screen shot below.
