1 Table of Contents MyNetFone Virtual Fax MyNetFone Virtual Fax Installation... 1 Changing the SIP endpoint details for the fax driver Uninstalling Virtual Fax Virtual Fax Installation Follow these instructions to setup your Virtual Fax: 1) Download the Virtual Fax installer from the MyNetFone website and save to your computer. Then open the location where you saved it and double click on VoIP Plug In for MS Fax to start the install process. 2) In the Welcome window click Next. 3) Enter your name and organisation name (optional) and click Next. 4) Leave the default install location as is and click Next. 5) A progress window will open up. 6) The Windows 7 User Account Control will request confirmation to continue, click Yes. 7) If you do not get an error message, skip to Step 16. If you get an Error message click OK and follow the instructions below. The error is due to the Windows fax service not being available the instructions below will show you how to activate the Windows fax service. Page 1

2 8) A second error message will appear click OK again. 9) Go to the Start menu and select Control Panel. 10) Click on Programs and Features. 11) In the Programs and Features window, click on Turn Windows features on or off in the left corner. The Windows Features window will open. Page 2

3 12) Scroll down to the Print and Document Services item and expand it by clicking on the + next to it. 13) Click on Windows Fax and Scan to enable it, and then click OK. 14) A progress window will appear and after sometime the indicator bar will turn green. 15) Once the installation is complete, Windows will go back to the Programs and Features window close this window. Go back to Step 2 and run the Virtual Fax plugin installer again. Page 3

4 16) The Virtual Fax plugin installer window will show some progress. 17) The Windows User Account Control pop up will request permission click Yes. 18) The License Key page will open. The license should already be configured, click Next to continue. Page 4

5 19) The SIP Proxy server details page will open. Enter the SIP endpoint number into the Username field and password in to the Password field (the AoR will be automatically populated, therefore it can be left empty). Then click Next. 20) Click on the Finish button. 21) The Windows Fax service will popup a window to configure some parameters. Page 5

6 22) Enter the area code. It will be 02, 03, 07 or 08, the other fields should be left as default. Then click OK. 23) Click OK again in the next window. Page 6

7 24) The Windows Fax service window will automatically open. Close it it doesn t have to be open to send Virtual Faxes with MyNetFone. 25) To send a test fax to verify the installation, open any file (with text or images) in MS Word, Notepad, Outlook or other program that allows printing and go to File, then Print. 26) Choose Fax from the printers list. 8 27) The New Fax window will open. Enter the destination fax number and a subject and then click Send. 28) The fax progress window will be displayed. You can click on View Details if more information on the fax progress is required. 29) When the fax sending is complete, the progress window will indicate that the fax is complete, and also a notification will be displayed in the task bar. 9 30) The fax that was sent can be viewed by going to the Start menu and selecting Windows Fax and Scan. 31) The fax progress popup window can be disabled if required. To disable the fax status window, in the Windows Fax and Scan window click on Tools, then select Fax Settings and click on the Tracking tab. Page 9

10 32) Un tick Sent and Received in the Fax Monitor section. Then click OK. 33) The fax progress window won t pop up anymore, however it is possible to see the progress icon in the task bar. Page 10

11 Changing the SIP endpoint details for the fax driver 1) Open the Configure Fax Service window. 2) Click on File then Properties. 3) The Windows User Account Control pop up will prompt for access, click Yes. Page 11

12 4) Enter the updated SIP account details and click Save 5) A prompt will appear Click Yes to restart the fax service. 6) Some progress messages will be displayed on stopping and starting the fax service. 7) If no errors are displayed, the fax client will automatically connect with the updated SIP endpoint. 13 1) Go to Control Panel then All Programs. Uninstalling Virtual Fax 2) Open Programs and Features. Then right click on Mynetfone Plug in for Microsoft Fax and select Uninstall. 3) Click Yes to confirm the Uninstall. 4) The uninstall progress window will be displayed. 5) Click OK on the reboot prompt. 6) The Windows User Account Control will prompt Do you want to allow the following program from an unknown publisher to make changes to this computer? click Yes. 7) The Uninstall progress window will be displayed. 8) Once the Uninstall is completed, the screen will go back to the Windows Control Panel Programs and Features page.
