Biological Sciences Foundation Degree Course code: C110 This course delves into the fascinating area of living organisms, from the molecular level up, including human biology, immunology, genetics, microbiology and biochemistry. You ll be involved in practical lab sessions and in-depth research projects, and will also develop valuable presentation and teamwork skills. After the foundation degree, you ll be well-placed to work in a range of laboratory and science roles or progress to BSc programmes in biological or biomedical science at the University of Brighton. Business Foundation Degree Course code: N102 If you re an entrepreneur interested in making your business work, or looking to contribute to your company s success as an employee, this course is for you. Experience in business is not essential, but a determination to learn and apply your learning to real business is vital. After the foundation degree, you will be ready to take on entrepreneurial ambitions, supervisory and management roles or progress to a BA in business management. Computing & Systems Development HND Course code: JAC3 This course develops the range of skills, techniques and personal qualities essential for success in a computing career, enabling you to make an immediate contribution in the workplace. It will also provide knowledge, skills and motivation for future studies and career progression in computing and systems development. On completion, you will be prepared to work within computer network support and software and hardware development in a range of organisations. Photography Foundation Degree Course code: W641 This practical course develops the skills you need for a successful career in professional photography. The programme is tailored to commercial advertising and editorial work, but also covers many essential photographic and transferable skills. Visual Arts Practice BA (Hons) Course code: 09G3 This innovative honours degree top-up is aimed at graduates from foundation degrees in visual arts and photography. It is also open to students from outside the College who have completed a foundation degree or HND in a relevant subject. Students creative practice is at the heart of the experience, and studio-based teaching and studying promotes collaborative work. Graduates are well-informed and able to contribute to a wide range of visual and creative careers and entrepreneurial activities, prepared to support the cultural community or forge new paths for individual and collaborative creation in the arts.

Love your time in Brighton Festivals Brighton has a reputation as a party town, thanks to both its vibrant club scene and the various festivals that dominate the calendar. Events such as Gay Pride, Brighton Festival, Brighton Fringe Festival, The Great Escape, White Night, Brighton Comedy Festival and CineCity are particularly notable, but there is a festival of practically every shape and size during the year. Music Brighton is home to a thriving music scene, attracting world-class bands, artists and DJs on a weekly basis. There are plenty of local clubs, bars and music venues to satisfy every taste. You can t miss the two big music festivals in the city - Shakedown and The Great Escape - which both attract internationally acclaimed artists and provide a launch-pad for emerging talent. Comedy, theatre and arts Club nights at Komedia and other comedy clubs are a great way to spend time in the city. Brighton also has some stunning theatres - the Theatre Royal is grade II listed and takes in the biggest shows touring the country. The art scene here is huge - there are artists open houses, studios and exhibitions everywhere you look. Brighton has several large exhibiting spaces, including the truly unique Fabrica Gallery, and numerous independent galleries. Sport Brighton is home to Championship football, with Brighton & Hove Albion currently flying high. A new stadium and great performances have caused a buzz in the city. County cricket is hosted in Hove through Sussex CCC and you can watch all formats of the game regularly. Running has taken off in Brighton in recent years with a major city marathon and half-marathon every year. Feeling fit? Join 18,000 other competitors in April and 10,000 in February. If you re feeling more adventurous why not hit the water? The Brighton Sea Swimming club has been running for over 150 years and members swim daily throughout the year. There are opportunities to indulge in a number of other water-based sports - sea-kayaking, kite-boarding and surfing to name just three. Brighton beach is also home to the UK s only permanent beach volleyball venue, which runs leagues for all levels throughout the year. There are over 450 different sports clubs and groups in the city, from hang gliding to windsurfing - get involved! Links to London Getting to and from London from Brighton and Hove is easy, and usually takes less than an hour by rail. Many Brighton residents commute to work in London and destinations include London Victoria, London Bridge and Gatwick Airport, with trains continuing to Bedford.

Costs Full-time undergraduate students from the UK and EU For courses starting in 2015, tuition fees will be 7500 per year for University of Brighton-accredited degrees. For HNDs the fees will be 5000 a year. To help you with the costs, you may be entitled to one of our bursaries which could reduce your course fees and help with living costs this could be up to 3500 per year towards your course. You don t have to pay your tuition fees up front before you begin your course, and if you re studying for your first university-level qualification you can get a loan from the UK government to cover the cost of fees while you re studying. Depending on your financial circumstances, you may also be entitled to a maintenance grant or loan. You ll only start to pay back this student loan after you ve left university and are earning over 21,000 a year. If your earnings fall beneath 21,000 a year, your payments will stop.
