1 Higher Education at Northampton College Our higher education options will enable you to develop hands-on technical and professional skills so you can realise your ambitions and secure a high value career in the economy of the future. A range of higher education options are available to study at our prestigious campus in Northampton.

2 Following a higher education course with us could be ideal if you want to progress after achieving A Levels, BTECs or other Level 3 qualifications. You may be returning to education or already at work and keen to progress your career. We are increasing our range of courses all the time, so please check our website to see what is available. Why study with us? We have excellent facilities and teaching resources and our teaching staff have expert knowledge in the vocational disciplines they teach. Study options are flexible so you will be able to manage your time to take account of family and work commitments. You will study in small groups with one-to one support that will help you develop independent learning skills. If you live nearby, you don t have to travel away from Northamptonshire. Our course fees are very competitive compared with the cost of going straight to university. 3 Higher National Certificates (HNCs) We offer an HNC in Engineering in partnership with the University of Northampton. The HNC is studied at college and in the workplace over two years and provides a gateway to the Higher National Diploma (HND) in Engineering at the University of Northampton. Successful students may also progress from the HND on to the BSc and MSc Engineering at the University of Northampton. The HNC is delivered at our Booth Lane campus in Northampton and students can also take advantage of facilities and support at the University of Northampton. New HNCs for 2016 include Applied Biology and Chemistry, Automotive and Building Services Engineering*. *subject to validation Higher National Diplomas (HNDs) HNDs are technical and skills-based and designed for specific types of jobs. You could join a two-year HND programme right here at Northampton College that will cost less than going straight to university. You can top up to convert your HND into a degree with a further year of study. In three years, you can achieve two qualifications: an HND and a degree for less than the cost of one. If you are planning to start a full-time or part-time higher education course at a university or college, you will be able to apply for a student loan from the beginning of the calendar year in which your course starts. 4 We are pleased to offer a bursary of 800 per year to all students who successfully complete each year of their HND programme. We offer a number of HNDs in partnership with the University of Northampton. This means that you will become a member of both institutions. You will study at our Booth Lane campus in Northampton and can take advantage of University facilities and resources and Students Union membership for both organisations. If you re successful in achieving an HND, you may have the opportunity to progress on to the University of Northampton to top up your qualification to a degree and take part in the University s graduation ceremony. In addition, the College runs a number of HNDs that are accredited by Pearson Edexcel. You will study at our Booth Lane campus in Northampton and can take advantage of our state of the art facilities and resources in our new building, industry trained staff, careers advice and Students Union membership. If you re successful in achieving an HND with us, you will have the opportunity to progress on to university to top up your qualification to a degree. 8 Teacher education If you re already working in the post-16 sector and want to secure qualifications in teaching to improve your career prospects, we offer Level 4 and 5 qualifications in partnership with the University of Warwick. You will study at our Booth Lane campus in Northampton and can take advantage of the facilities available to members of the University of Warwick including extensive online resources. In partnership with the University of Warwick we offer: Level 4 Certificate in Education and Training Level 5 Diploma in Education & Training Yr 1.
