CHALLENGING MINDS JEI Summer Camp offers Math, English, Reading and Writing, Common Core Online, and Brain Safari. In our academic courses, campers build on fundamental principles to become skilled critical thinkers and writers. Aligned with the rigorous PARCC standards, our Reading & Writing and Math courses were uniquely designed by JEI Livingston teachers to suit their students needs. Common Core Online gives students the computer and keyboarding skills they need to succeed on the computer-based PARCC test, while also offering additional practice in English and math. Train your brain and test your critical thinking skills with Brain Safari! JEI Reading and Writing JEI Math JEI English 3

BUILDING BOLDNESS At JEI, we want our campers to face the world head on. With Study Skills and Public Speaking, children develop the skills they need to confidently participate in class, manage their workload, and become avid learners, inside and outside the classroom. Study Skills arms students with the tools for effective time management, note-taking, studying, and test-taking, while our unique Public Speaking curriculum builds strong speakers, who can give a speech or engage in class debate with ease. Public Speaking Study Skills 4

INSPIRING CREATIVITY With activities like drama, arts and crafts, chess, and book club, we encourage campers to express themselves creatively. Our afternoon activities complement the academic curricula and foster strong teamwork skills. During Chess Club, teachers introduce campers to key game principles and then they re off, from beginner challenges to advanced competitions! Their strong Public Speaking skills help set the stage for a daring Drama Team, which puts on a play at the end of the summer. Last year, while Princesses and Knights rehearsed their lines, our Arts and Crafts team built castles, made swords and shields, and designed costumes for the whole cast. On field trips, campers and counselors alike explore and experiment with new ideas and exhibits! Arts & Crafts Drama Book Club Trips 5
