Urologic Oncology & Robotic Surgery on the Beach OVERVIEW This certified CME course will review state-of-the art treatment strategies for urologic malignancies (prostate, bladder, kidney, and testicular cancer). This activity will feature 4 live robotic cases, an interactive panel discussion from experts in urologic oncology, and an international contingent of urologic surgeons to provide global perspectives on urologic oncology and robotic surgery. This course is targeted for clinicians with little or no experience with robotics as well as oncologists and surgeons with advanced experience in robotics. GAP ANALYSIS Optimal management of urologic malignancies will often require a multi-disciplinary team approach. Utilization of robotic surgery for management of urologic cancers has dramatically increased. Urologic Oncology at the Beach 2014 will provide the latest perspectives on management of prostate, kidney, bladder, and testicular cancer. In addition to live robotic surgeries, expert faculty will be on hand to provide cutting edge lectures to attendees. This conference offers a unique and exciting opportunity for participants to learn about current management of oncological diseases combined with the latest developments in medical, interventional, and robotic therapeutic options. TARGET AUDIENCE The target audience includes physicians and health care professionals who treat patients with urologic cancer and have an interest in robotic surgery. LEARNING OBJECTIVES Explain current treatment strategies for prostate, kidney, bladder, and testicular cancer. Understand the surgical technique of robotic radical prostatectomy, partial nephrectomy, and cystectomy. Define appropriate patient selection criteria and indications for robotic surgery. Identify potential complications associated with robotic surgery including prevention, early recognition, and management.
