WHAT IS THE LOGAN COUNTY ALLIANCE? On January 1, 2015 the Lincoln/Logan County Chamber of Commerce and Logan County Tourism Bureau combined their efforts and formed the organization known as the Logan County Alliance to better serve the needs of our communities. The City of Lincoln contracts with the Alliance to provide Economic Development services, including services to Downtown Lincoln. The Alliance plans events like: Arts in the Park, Lincoln Balloon Festival, and the Lincoln Christmas Parade. WHAT IS THE CHAMBER? The Lincoln/Logan County Chamber of Commerce exists to advocate for business by providing leadership, programs, and services that create, protect, and enhance the business environment for the benefit of Chamber members and Lincoln/ Logan County. From Business After Hours to Lunch & Learns to the Ag Day Scholarship Breakfast, we are passionate about engaging our members and Lincoln/Logan County through a wide variety of events. We would love for you to come to our events, so be sure to get details on what we are doing in the area. WHAT IS THE TOURISM BUREAU? The Bureau was created to serve as the official destination marketing organization for Logan County, Illinois. Its mission is to accelerate sustainable economic growth and development in and social benefits for Logan County by increasing area tourism. The Bureau seeks to: increase visitor expenditures, overnight stays, tourism-related revenue and local employment by implementing marketing and advertising campaigns promoting Logan County as a travel destination for personal and business purposes. Irish Splendor November 8-15, 2016 Logan County Tourism Bureau is partnering with Collette Tours to promote Logan County abroad and raise money for the organization. The Bureau is selling tickets to an eight day guided tour to the amazing Emerald Isle. Some highlights of the tour include Dublin, Guinness Storehouse, Farm Visit, Blarney Castle, Killarney, Cliffs of Moher, Dromoland Castle, and much more. The cost of the tour includes round trip air from Central Illinois Regional Airport in Bloomington, Illinois, air taxes and fees/surcharges, and hotel transfers. Also included in the cost are ten meals. WHY SHOULD YOU SPONSOR? Each event we plan needs sponsors to ensure its success. SAVE THE TROPICS SIGN The purpose of the Save the Tropics Sign project is to preserve an important piece of Lincoln and Logan County s Route 66 history in order to increase the number of tourists who visit the area. As a committee of the Logan County Tourism Bureau, the Save the Tropics Sign Committee has a goal of $50,000 for the project. The money collected from donations will help restore the sign, replace the footing, install new neon bulbs, transport the sign, and install it to its new resting place. The Committee is also using funds to keep the sign maintained as it ages and to pay for the electricity it uses. In order to meet our mission and provide this service to our community, we rely on the generosity of individuals and businesses for support. Without the assistance of communityminded individuals, we wouldn t be able to fulfill our mission. We appreciate your consideration in contributing to this project.
