E D U C A T I O N A L O B J E C T I V E S List three indications and contraindications for performing transcatheter and transapical aortic valve replacement (AVR) on specific patient populations. Explain what is removed during a Whipple procedure, describe three different types of liver resections and their differences, and understand what hemodynamic monitoring is used during the intraoperative management of a patient undergoing a liver resection. Discuss how a patient s environment can affect them before and after a procedure and how integrated technology can be beneficial. Identify four risk factors for skin breakdown for a critically ill patient. We will discuss use of vasopressors, emaciation, co-morbidities, and disease process that contributes to skin breakdown for the critically ill patient. Describe the effect of cardiac resynchronization therapy on the improvement of cardiac function in moderate to severe heart failure. Create awareness and out of the box critical thinking for the atypical Neurological patient in the ICU. Identify advanced diagnostic options with pulmonary function testing results. Identify early possible signs and symptoms of sepsis.
