BETA Measuring 7T1 30 mutimeters Schematics Instructions for the connection of transformer counters In the case of cross-section reduction, a short-circuit resistant cabe is required for the power suppy of termina 2, depending on the fusing for phases 1, 2, 3. A fuse of 6 A is recommended for the ine protection. Current transformers must not be operated with open terminas as this can resut in dangerousy high votages, which may resut in persona injuries and property damage. It can aso ead to a therma overoad of the transformers. 230 V AC 2 3 7T1 300 230 V AC 2 3 7T1 301 7T1 302 1 1 2 2 3 3 1 1 1 2 2 2 3 3 3 1 63 A 2 63 A 3 63 A 230/400 V AC Direct connection 63 A, 4-wire circuit 1 1 2 2 3 3 6 A 6 A 6 A 1 2 3 230/400 V AC Current transformer connection, 4-wire circuit 1 63 A 2 63 A 3 63 A 400 V AC Direct connection 63 A, 3-wire circuit 1 1 1 2 2 2 3 3 3 1 1 2 2 3 3 6 A 6 A 6 A 1 63 A 230 V AC Direct connection 63 A, singe-phase I2_424a 1 2 3 400 V AC Current transformer connection, 3-wire circuit 1 1 1 2 2 2 3 3 3 1 6 A 230 V AC Current transformer connection, singe-phase I2_425b /6 Siemens ET B1 10/2008

These mutimeters aow users to define their own standard for measured quantities per dispay fied, so that they can be impemented far more universay and fexiby. A specia feature is the anaysis of the different oads on the phases. Phase dispacement and unsymmetrica or unbaanced oads can cause partia overoads. These mutimeters offer a range of different options for combining and assessing measured vaues. The dispay fieds are seected using rotary pushbuttons and the desired indications confirmed with O. By maing the horizonta seection e.g. W, V, A or p.f., and the vertica seection, e.g. 1, 1 2 or Σ, users can then define the desired measured quantities for this dispay fied. The vertica data on the dispay can be assigned to any measured vaue in the horizonta data. The etters M(ega) and (io) are automaticay assigned according to measuring range, i.e. measured vaue, e.g. W or MW. Capacitive oads are automaticay indicated by a capacitor, inductive oads by a coi. BETA Measuring 7T1 31, 7T1 34, 7T1 35 muticounters More information Communication interfaces Muticounters with PROFIBUS interface Muticounters are aso avaiabe with PROFIBUS interface. In a PROFIBUS networ, the muticounters act as PROFIBUS DP save according to the usua standard V0 (cycic communication ony). In a PROFIBUS networ, severa PROFIBUS saves are aways assigned to a singe master. A PC with a PROFIBUS communication modue or PC, such as the PCs of the SIMATIC range from Siemens, can be used as the master. The master communicates with the connected saves cycicay at extremey brief intervas. The master sends the saves a request message to which the save repies with a response message. The communication frame of the message (e.g. number of send and receive bytes) is save-specific and is defined in a standardized text fie; the device data base fie (DDBF). This DDBF fie is read in by the software configuration toos of the various PROFIBUS masters, whereby the master nows which communication frame the respective save requires. In norma cycic mode, the muticounter sends a response message in the specified communication frame in repy to the request message from the master. This communication frame contains a 35 measured quantities in encoded form as user data. The master receives the message, decodes it and then uses the measurement data for a range of tass. As we as the DDBF fie, a detaied description of the communication and the configuration of the user data are aso required for the configuration and impementation of a PROFIBUS networ with muticounters. For more information pease visit us on the Internet at: http://www.siemens.com/beta Muticounters with Modbus interface The Modbus RTU is a very common communications soution. It is a seria, asynchronous form of communication, which requires RS 485 networs as the hardware patform. RS 485 networs can be set up with 2-wire copper or optica fiber cabes and, compared to the RS 232 seria interface, offer fast transmission rates. In a Modbus networ, each bus station has a bus address within the range from 1 to 255. A stations within a networ must be set to the same transmission rate. We recommend transmission speeds of 9600 or 19200 bit/s. The address and transmission speed can be set in the user menu of the muticounters. In order to customize a Modbus instaation, it is necessary to impement the appropriate software appication for the master. This requires specific information about communication with muticounters. For more information pease visit us on the Internet at: http://www.siemens.com/beta Muticounters with A couper on A The 7T1 390 A coupers support connection of up to ten 7T1 34 muticounters to a A networ. The A coupers and muticounters are interined over an RS 485 networ. Setting the bus address in the 7T1 34 muticounters to "0" specifies that it is operating in "A" mode. It is not necessary to set the transmission speed, as a fixed transmission rate is aways used in this mode. It is aso not necessary to set the address of the bus stations, as the A couper automaticay detects and identifies the muticounter connected. The server components run on the PC in the bacground and hande the data transmission and storage of the most recent measured vaues from a the muticounters connected over one or more A coupers. For more information on A operation and the MS Exce operator interface, see 7T1 390 A coupers on page /16 ff. BETA Measuring 7T1 39 A coupers More information Connection of the A couper to a A Each station in a A must be assigned its own IP address. On deivery, or after a reset, the A couper has a standard IP address. The new IP address must be set in the A couper during commissioning. To do this, the A couper must be directy connected to a PC using a so-caed "cross-over" cabe. This is a networ cabe in which the transmit and receive wires are cross-connected. This creates a sma A with 2 stations, PC and A couper can communicate with each other directy. The suppied A couper configuration too must be instaed on the PC. This direct connection can then be used to set a new IP address in the A couper, as we as other networ parameters, such as subnet mas and defaut gateway. The A couper must then be connected to the target system as communication is subsequenty ony possibe with the new settings. Connection of measuring devices to the A couper E-counters and muticounters are connected to the A coupers over their communication interface. The networ is an RS 485 networ in which devices are connected over a shieded 2-wire cabe. When using Modbus, the device address and transmission rate must be set in the muticounters. This is not necessary if using the muticounters and E-counters over the A couper, as the A couper automaticay detects and identifies any connected E-counters and muticounters. You can now use the A couper configuration too (over the A networ) to te the A couper the device from which you want to retrieve the measurement data. The A couper carries out a so-caed "poing" during runtime. This cycicay retrieves the most recenty gathered measurement data from the measuring devices and buffers them in the A couper. This can then be caed up at any time over the A. Data transmission from A couper to PC This data transmission is PC-controed. A software too runs in the bacground on the PC and uses the networ to cycicay retrieve any measurement data from a avaiabe A coupers and save it to the hard dis. BETA Measuring Overview E-counters are used to measure the power consumption in 3-phase systems, e.g. in industria pants, offices and apartments in apartment houses. Cost pressures are growing, particuary in industry. Product operating times are reduced and manufacturing faciities must be retrofitted more frequenty. The oad eves of the distribution boards during operation are therefore constanty under observation in order to avoid pea oads in a timey manner or to perform retrofitting. The versions can be used for consumption anaysis and minimization of operating costs in industria pants and office buidings. The device versions with A interfaces aow a readout to be performed easiy using an existing A networ. The devices indicate 6 measured vaues on an CD dispay: Active energy rate 1 and rate 2, reactive energy rate 1 and rate 2, active power and reactive power. BETA Measuring 7T1 5 E-counters Schematics Grounding termina The grounding terminas required for the transmission technoogy for 7T1 520 and 7T1 521 versions ony serve to shied the transmission cabes and do not have a protective function. Rate switchover If a votage of 230 V AC is appied to terminas 4 and 5, the rate is switched to rate 2. Instructions for the connection of transformer counters In the case of cross-section reduction, a short-circuit resistant cabe is required for the power suppy of terminas 1, 2 and 3 depending on the fusing for phases 1, 2 and 3. A fuse of 6 A is recommended for ine protection. Current transformers must not be operated with open terminas as this can resut in dangerousy high votages, which may resut in persona injuries and property damage. In addition to this, the transformers are exposed to therma overoad. 230 V AC 230 V AC 1 2 3 4 5 230 V AC 230 V AC 7T1 520 2 3 4 5 7T1 512 7 8 9 + + Shieding + _ A couper 2 x 5...30 V DC 230 V AC 230 V AC 2 3 4 5 230 V AC 230 V AC 7T1 521 2 3 4 5 7T1 513 7 8 9 + + Shieding + _ A couper 2 x 5...30 V DC Wh T1 Wh T2 Wh T1 Wh T2 230 V AC 230 V AC 2 3 4 5 7T1 510 8 9 5...30 V DC + 230 V AC 230 V AC 5...30 V DC 2 3 4 5 7T1 5 8 9 + 230 V AC 2 x 5...30 V DC 2 3 7T1 502 7 8 9 Wh Wh T1 - T2 + + 230 V AC 5...30 V DC 2 3 7T1 500 8 9 var + 230 V AC 230 V AC 1 2 3 4 5 6 7T1 503 7 8 9 Wh T1 - T2 2 x 5...30 V DC + + Wh var 5...30 V DC 2 3 7T1 501 8 9 + Wh T1 Wh T1 1 1 2 2 3 3 1 1 1 2 2 2 3 3 3 1 63 A 2 63 A 3 63 A 230/400 V AC Direct connection 63 A, 4-wire circuit I2_13492a 6 A 6 A 6 A 1 2 3 I2_13493a 230/400 V AC Current transformer connection, 4-wire circuit /22 Siemens ET B1 10/2008

BETA Measuring 7T1 1 E-counters instabus X Overview E-counters are used for the measurement of Wh in singe- and three-phase systems, e.g. in industria pants, offices and apartments in apartment houses. They hep minimize operating costs and faciitate cost assignment. The E-counter cacuates the consumption costs when the price per Wh has been entered. The abiity to input the device number faciitates assignment to a number system and cost assignment to one of the various cost centers. Readout software for the IR measuring head The data of the above tabe are read into a PC using the magnetic IR measuring head and stored in an ASCII fie according to IEC 607. This ASCII fie can be further processed in an Exce or Access fie.
