3 Layers of detection to suit the site requirement A number of criteria shoud be taken into account in order to design the most efficient perimeter protection system, such as environment, ighting conditions, site ay-out, technica requirement, acceptabe eve of fase aarms etc. Different sensing technoogies suit different types of appications and environmenta conditions and it is quite common to see that a combination of technoogies is needed to achieve best resuts. Perimeter and buiding protection The first ayer of security usuay occurs at the perimeter, whether that is a physica ine such as a fence or a wa or a virtua ine. Benefits of integrating physica sensors onto a video based security system Athough intrusion detection can be achieved by video based soutions, there are situations where a combination of video anaytics and physica sensors improves significanty the reiabiity of the detection and minimises the probem of fase aarms; and other situations where physica sensors are much better suited. Increased reiabiity of detection Insects, spider webs, sudden ights, refection and shadows can affect video based detection and trigger unwanted aarms. Physica sensors are not affected by ow ight conditions or shadows; and argey not affected by gare. They can be used as an aternative to video anaytics detection or as a doube knock system. Physica sensors hep reduce the risk of fase aarms affecting video detection systems. Appications where video detection is not suited Vertica detection There are a number of appications where a virtua wa is required to protect an area: this coud be for facade protection or perimeter protection with a very narrow sterie zone etc. For those appications, it is difficut to depoy video based detection systems. Thrown object detection It is extremey difficut for video surveiance system to detect objects being thrown into or over a protected area, even more so if the object is sma. 5 Perimeter protection using active infrared beams Active infrared beams consist of a pair of transmitter and receiver units to provide a detection ine simiar to a trip wire or a virtua wa. The transmitter unit constanty emits infrared beams to the receiver and wi trigger an aarm if the transmission is broken by an intruder. 8 Versatiity and Inteigent Object Anaysis with REDSCAN Laser Sensors REDSCAN is an award-winning aser detector that identifies the size, speed and distance of a moving object and can function in effect ike an invisibe wa. With the abiity to be mounted either verticay or horizontay and to be used indoor or outdoor, the REDSCAN can be used for a wide range of security and safety appications. It can be depoyed to protect perimeters, skyights, pieces of art or vauabe assets as we as to increase safety in pubic transport by detecting peope on raiway tracks or crossings. A variety of detection range The REDSCAN has a detection area of 30m radius when mounted horizontay and up to 15m high by 59m wide when mounted verticay.
