ACTIVE POWER FILTER [APF] Product Introduction Due to non inear oad have widey appication in recent years, such as arc furnace, eectrified raiway, frequency convertor, rectifier, UPS and computer. It brings serious negative infuence to quaity of power suppy because of their non - inear, impact and unbaanced characteristics. In another aspect, the eectrica and eectronic devices are more sensitive to the power quaity for modern factor y and commercia industr y, as we as common househods. Our quaity of power suppy is facing more chaenge. Conventiona passive fiters are mainy appied for harmonic restrain and reactive power compensation due to its advantages of ess cost, simpe structure, guaranteed stabiity and easy for maintenance. But passive fiters have arge dimension, their performance is affected by system and it is possibe for passive fiters to have resonance with system. After a, it is not enough to manage harmonic ony by using passive fiters. We must use new technoogy active power fiter for integrate power quaity management in power distribution system. 3 Active Power Fiter APF Technica Principe APF is an eectronic device using ogica circuit to obser ve and input current. APF is composed of power suppied converter and connected in parae with source of harmonics (oad). APF does rea time current sense and convert the signa from anaog to digita signa. DSP processes digita signa to produce PWM signa. PWM signa drives IGBT power modues to fitering harmonic current by producing a current signa with same ampitude and opposite direction of harmonic current. In this way, APF can impement harmonic fitering, votage fuctuation contro, resonance restrain and improve power factor.
