An exciting opportunity exists for an HR and Payroll Coordinator to join one of Australia s most successful public interest and pro bono law organisations. Justice Connect is a not-for-profit organisation with a vision of a world that is fair and just; where rights are respected and advanced, laws are fairer, and systems are more accessible and accountable. Justice Connect provides access to justice through pro bono legal services to people experiencing disadvantage and the community organisations that support them. We also address injustice through law reform, policy work and legal education. The HR and Payroll Coordinator, a newly created role, will play a key role in supporting the Justice Connect team. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the role will be part of the Shared Services team. The Shared Services team provides support, advice and expertise across the organisation and is responsible for managing the physical work environment, developing and maintaining information technology tools to support the work of Justice Connect, HR management, management of and accountability for funds, and organisational communications. The Shared Services Team also oversees the governance and compliance obligations of Justice Connect. The HR and Payroll Coordinator focus will be the efficient and effective running of Justice Connect s fortnightly payroll, coordinates all employee recruitment, supports the Chief Operating Officer in HR administrative work and plays an important role in facilitating internal communication between Justice Connect offices. The role also supports the Human Rights Law Centre through processing of its fortnightly payroll. Coordinate with outsourced salary packaging provider to ensure fortnightly salary packaging is processed Provide assistance to all employees on payroll queries Coordination of end of year payroll processing and reconciliations Provide input into HRLC organisational payroll policies Human Resources - Justice Connect Assist in end to end recruitment including advertising, receipt of applications and notification of outcome Preparation of all employee contracts and variations Create position descriptions as necessary Maintain a log of position descriptions and work with managers to ensure their currency Maintain electronic and hard copy employee personnel files Archive employee personnel files on a timely basis in line with Justice Connect s policy and procedures Ensure Justice Connect s bi-annual performance review process is undertaken to maximum and mutual benefit to the organisation and employees Coordination and management of workers compensation Develop and review organisational HR policies Review HR systems, practices and procedures and implement changes and improvements as necessary In conjunction with other staff, maintain up-to-date contact details in salesforce, Justice Connect s CRM Manage and coordinate relationships with university law schools and colleges to maximise opportunities to promote Justice Connect as a future potential work placement or employer including through open days, job fairs and newsletters Proactively support the flow of communication and information between Justice Connect offices Identify and develop opportunities to continue to build a positive organisational culture Perform other duties as directed and necessary to the proper performance of the role.
