AIM s Certificate IV in Training and Assessment is designed to enhance a broad range of skills in designing and developing training programs, planning and undertaking delivery and organising and running assessment processes. This course is suitable for professionals, tradespeople and others who are training and/or assessing or are required to train/assess in the workplace. > Duration This qualification will require 10 days of face-to-face training, followed by an assessment towards each unit of competency. If you are required to or want to position yourself to perform the role of a trainer, facilitator or assessor in the workplace (vocational based training) or in a Registered Training Organisation (RTO). > Prerequisites To participate in the intensive delivery format of this qualification you should have some experience designing, delivering or assessing training. This will assist you with the completion of your assessments. If you have limited experience in some of these domains but not all, or are not currently employed please speak to a Senior Training Advisor to discuss the suitability of the intensive option. > Your employer will benefit because You ll engage in workplace based projects relating to the design, delivery and assessment of training You ll be able to link the appropriateness of training and assessment to the organisation s context and the characteristics, language, literacy and numeracy skills of the person being trained/ assessed. Training and assessment provides information on the capability of individuals and organisations to achieve their work and business plans Workplace training and assessment are integral functions, not only to skills development, but also to performance management and team leadership. This Qualification may also be delivered in-house as a Telstra customised program. Recognition of prior internal training (T-Way, SIM and more) may apply. QUALIFICATION STRUCTURE > Pre-course Prior to attending your course, you will receive an email from AIM directing you to your pre-course work. Ensure you re prepared by thoroughly reading through these materials. Make a note of areas you feel you may need further information on and of questions you want to have answered when you attend class. > Training Days AIM Programs are designed to be highly collaborative and engaging. During the course, you will have the opportunity to leverage the knowledge and experience of your facilitator while interacting with your peers to maximise your learning. You will be challenged to develop new knowledge and skills in a comfortable, supportive and learner-centred environment. On your training days, AIM will provide morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea. Please advise AIM of any special dietary requirements you may have upon enrolling for your qualification. > Assessments Your assessment is the final piece you need to complete to achieve competency in each unit and consists of knowledge questions, workplace tasks, and a third party report. Answer all the questions as best you can and include samples of documentation that support what you are saying. Talk to other people in your organisation to get a better understanding on how things are currently done and how things can be improved based on the new knowledge you have acquired. Your assessment is a great way to become involved in key projects within your organisation and help you to transfer knowledge and information into practical skills. From analysing learning needs, to structuring and delivering workshops, every step of the process is covered - enabling you to implement and continually improve training in your workplace. Assessing in the Workplace - 3 Days TAEASS402B Assess competence TAEASS403B Participate in assessment validation The Assessing in the Workplace short course will equip you with the skills and knowledge to confidently plan, organise, conduct and validate assessments using Training Packages and competency standards. Language, Literacy and Numeracy for Trainers - 1 Day TAELLN411 Address adult language, literacy and numeracy skills This short course addresses the adult language, literacy and numeracy (LLN) considerations that need to be taken into account when delivering work based training and assessment. You will learn tools and techniques to determine the LLN requirements of a training program and modify your training to meet the LLN requirements of your learners.
