OVERVIEW The NZ Arboricultural Association (NZ Arb) seeks to create mutually beneficial partnerships with dedicated companies, organisations, and individuals who are aligned with and support the association s values and mission. Each year, NZ Arb provides sponsors the opportunity to play a vital role in strengthening the global tree care community by supporting the growth, recognition and success of the arborist profession, through the Annual Conference. In 2014, NZ Arb brings the Annual Conference and National Tree Climbing Championship (NTCC) to Rotorua. The NZ Arb Annual Conference is the biggest gathering of researchers, educators, and practicing arborists and urban foresters from around New Zealand. In addition to drawing top international and local speakers to present on the latest research and techniques, the NZ Arb Conference provides a forum for the open exchange of ideas, emerging technology, and the latest products and services. The NTCC showcases the country s best climbers (and often the best in the world too!), while providing a laboratory for new climbing techniques, and a live display of the latest innovations in arborists gear. The annual event also serves as the impetus for positive promotional content for NZ Arb and its sponsors. The NTCC generates public interest articles exposing thousands of readers to news about the event, increasing public awareness for arboriculture and tree-related industries. For many local attendees who come to watch this spectacular event, it may form their first impression of the arboriculture profession in action.
