2 What is PACE? PACE Center for Girls serves girls, ages who are at-risk for dropping out of school, teenage pregnancy, welfare dependency and juvenile justice involvement. PACE features a balanced emphasis on academics and social services with a focus on the future for middle and high-school aged girls and young women. PACE provides academic classes and counseling services, at no charge, in a safe environment that celebrates girls, taking into account how girls learn and develop and employs staff that understands the lives of girls and can respond to their strengths and challenges. PACE began in 1985 with one Center in Jacksonville, Florida serving 10 girls. Today PACE includes 18 Centers throughout Florida that serve over 2,000 girls each year and has helped over 21,000 girls since its beginning. PACE Marion opened its doors in January 2001 at the Skylark Plaza with 40 girls. Over the past 13 years, PACE has continued to increase the number of girls served to answer the need in the community. PACE Marion is now located in the newly renovated Madison Commons building in downtown Ocala, serving 67 girls. PACE Marion has served more than 650 girls since opening. PACE Marion Statistics Girls Served: % of PACE girls increased their academic functioning 93% of transitioned girls were placed in appropriate educational placements Kadijah s Story Kadijah began her journey at PACE in the 10 th grade. Before attending PACE, Kadijah suffered for several years with depression and bi-polar disorder. Kadijah was physically hurting herself as a result of previous sexual abuse. Kadijah heard about PACE several times before making the commitment to leave the past in the past as she says and attend PACE. She decided to attend PACE with a new attitude. Kadijah stated, The teachers at PACE understand that I ve had some struggles in my past, but don t judge me. They treat me with respect. Kadijah has not only accomplished her academic goals, receiving her high school diploma and culinary certification from MTI in June 2012, but has also accomplished many of her emotional and mental goals. Kadijah is now getting ready to graduate from Cosmetology school. Thank you PACE for helping me out of the deep hole I was trapped in for so long and showing me that the sky is the limit and I can be anything I want to be.

3 Corporate Sponsorships Corporate Sponsors are the foundation for community support of PACE. With recognition on the Center s sponsorship wall and throughout the hallways, PACE students, staff and visitors have a reminder of the organizations and individuals who are supporting them through their journey. 4 Student Support Sponsorships PACE uses a holistic, strength-based and asset building model specifically responsive to the needs of girls. Focusing on strengths includes celebrating the girls achievements and successes while at PACE. The following levels offer the opportunity to celebrate the girls. 5 Event Sponsorships Voices of PACE Luncheon February 24, 2015 Print Deadline: February 10 PACE Marion s premier event, The Voices of PACE Luncheon is hosted annually by the Board of Directors. The program features PACE girls sharing their stories through poems and stories. One of two large fundraising events for the year, the luncheon brings together individuals, companies, foundations and civic organizations who share a common passion of providing a pathway to success for at-risk girls in our community. 7 Event Sponsorships Derby Day and 5K, 10K and Run for the Rosé May 2, 2015 Print Media Deadline: February 10 T-Shirt Deadline: April 10 Run, jog or walk through the beautiful Florida Horse Park and Florida Greenway the morning of the Kentucky Derby. In 2015, an inaugural 10K will be available. Wear your best Derby Hat for the Derby Hat contest. The 5K and 10K will be followed by the Run for the Rosé Obstacle Course. During the obstacle course, participants will open and pour out bottles of wine and complete the obstacle course carrying the wine glasses server style on a tray. In 2014, the event s inaugural year, PACE was recognized in a Star Banner report on Derby Events in Marion County and had more than 200 registered participants. Other family activities may include bounce houses, horse shoe throwing and pony rides.
