Fall is a wonderful time to visit Madison. Think college football on a sunny Saturday afternoon. We have secured a limited number of tickets and invite you to purchase tickets and join the Extraordinary Ophthalmology group at the UW football game (see registration form for details). Madison also boasts one of the 10 best farmer s markets in the country open Saturday morning on the Capitol Square. In addition to the scientific program, you may enjoy some of the sights that Southern Wisconsin offers such as Frank Lloyd Wright s Taliesin, in Spring Green, or the Wisconsin Dells on the Wisconsin River along the picturesque sandstone bluffs. Registration includes all conference materials, lunch and a relaxing dinner on Friday, September 10th, at Fluno Center for Executive Education in Madison.

3 Who Should Attend This conference is targeted toward comprehensive ophthalmologists, subspecialists, and vision scientists. Program This conference will provide a format to collectively explore the advances being made throughout ophthalmology and vision research in various specialties. Remarkable endeavors in clinical care and global health are incorporated as well as advances in other fields of medicine that have an impact on the practice of ophthalmology. Goals and Objectives The goals of this conference are: To increase participants engagement in discussing current research, innovation, and therapeutic options with colleagues and patients in their own practice. To increase awareness of public and global health issues related to ocular disease and engage in dialogue on current research, treatments, and innovations for these conditions. To educate ophthalmologists and vision scientists on advances in technology, treatment, and other fields of medicine applicable to current ophthalmic patient care. To stimulate interest in innovative research such as gene therapy and stem cell research. At the conclusion of the seminar, participants will be able to: Institute new techniques and management strategies in their patient care and operative procedures. Discuss the most recent advances in ophthalmic care with patients, and apply such knowledge in making referrals for further care. Understand the potential impact of stem cell biology on the future of clinical ophthalmology.
