2 WHO WE ARE Just on the edge of Yorkville we are a top professional salon specializing in, but not limited to, curly hair! Chiggy s Touch is a full-service salon that offers extensions, blow-outs, perms and relaxers. Chiggy s Touch salon was founded in April, 2007 and is located at 184 Davenport Road, lower level. Chiggy s Touch owner Patience Chodokufa has been professionally styling hair for more than ten years. Chiggy is short for Chigumira, Patience s maiden name. Patience Chodokufa In addition to curls, Chiggy s Touch also specializes in haircolour, and aims to create harmony between curls and haircolour. Chiggy s Touch offers style treatments that coincide with your hair s colour, whether natural or previously coloured/treated. Chiggy's Touch has its own Hair Extensions line called VUDZ. 3 FUNDRAISING AND CHARITY Chiggy s Touch Salon is proud to host this fundraising event to support The Stephen Lewis Foundation (SLF). The Stephen Lewis Foundation (SLF) supports grassroots organizations working to turn the tide of HIV/AIDS in Africa. Since 2003, we have funded more than 700 initiatives with 300 community-based organizations in 15 countries. These grassroots groups are a lifeline for their communities: they provide education and counselling about HIV prevention, care and treatment; distribute food, medication and other necessities; reach into the homes of the sick and vulnerable through holistic homebased care; help children orphaned by AIDS and other vulnerable children gain access to education and cope with their grief; and support grandmothers, who are overwhelmingly the caregivers for their orphaned grandchildren. Proceeds of the event will go to the Stephen Lewis Foundation, to support the Girl Child Network in Zimbabwe. The founder of the Girl Child Network, Betty Makoni, has recently become an international CNN Heroine-of-the-Year. Yet, she never left behind her own experiences as a rape survivor nor that of the many teen-age girls victimised or at-risk of violence that her organization still serves throughout Zimbabwe. The Girl Child Network maintains a network of over 670 awareness clubs in Zimbabwe schools; also counselling, rescue, and three empowerment villages in Rusape, Hwange and Chihota that serve as shelters, supportcentres and community clubhouses for girls combating sexual, physical and emotional abuse. SLF s support focuses on outreach and education for both survivors of abuse and girls-at-risk. The SLF provides funding for three hundred girls to attend secondary school by paying for school fees, uniforms, supplemental food and even sanitary pads, although only those in greatest need receive all these forms of support. In addition, SLF funding provides for quarterly capacity-building workshops that build the girls self-esteem and leadership skills. Money is also set aside to undertake rescue missions and, if needed, rehabilitate violencesurvivors by promoting their access to legal, protective, medical and psychosocial support services. Finally, SLF funding focuses on infrastructure: to ensure good oversight and management of child abuse cases, allow for the creation of two satellite outreach offices and support the retention of key staff. 6 We are going to promote The Hair Show on Facebook, twitter and other social media websites. The Hair Show will be posted on all available known web based event calendars for Toronto and GTA. Public Relation Press Releases will be sent to the local newspaper and magazines. Also, they will be posted all over the internet. Marketing Collateral Sponsors can be represented on all promotion materials. Flyers with the sponsors represented will be handed out at public locations. Event banners will be produced with sponsors represented. Brand Visibility The Hair Show will be promoted through websites, mass event flyer, social networking sites and newspapers. As an event sponsor, your Company logo will be displayed on all the promotional websites, mass flyers, and listed in newspaper articles as sponsors leading to this event. The Event During The Hair Show the sponsors will have several opportunities to market their products and create brand awareness. Event banners will be at the event location and will include the sponsors. Tables and chairs are available at the event for all level sponsors (excluding Gift Bag Sponsor). A program brochure will be available to each event attendee. There will be an ad for each sponsor respective to their level of sponsorship. There will also be a tribute page for each sponsor. Gift bags will be given to each attendee and will include promotional items from our sponsors. The bags will be given to the attendees upon arrival. The gift bags and coupons are open for sponsors. We are open to discuss other ideas sponsors have that would be mutually beneficial for the sponsors, the contestants and the producers.
