1 Technology nhanced Learning Assistant Faculty of Health and Wellbeing Technology nhanced Learning Support Team Permanent Full time Salary 21,391 to 24,775 per annum, dependent on experience Vacancy reference HWB 1025/14 Closing date 08/01/15 at 12 noon The Technology nhanced Learning Team within the Faculty of Health and Wellbeing The Faculty of Health and Wellbeing encompasses a variety of health and social care, science and sport related disciplines within its educational provision. The programmes delivered within the Faculty utilise a variety of approaches including classroom-based, mobile, blended, virtual and distance learning. The Technology nhanced Learning (TL) team sits within the wider Learning, Teaching and Assessment team and supports academic staff in designing and developing high quality and innovative learning, teaching and assessment activities. The TL team therefore work closely with academic staff to provide comprehensive advice, training and support linking educational theory and practice with appropriate technologies to enhance the learning experience of students. Faculty of Health and Wellbeing The Technology nhanced Learning (TL) team sits within the Faculty of Health and Wellbeing. 3 Job description Job Title Faculty/ept Technology nhanced Learning Assistant Health and Wellbeing/ Learning, Teaching and Assessment Grade 5 Reports to irect reports Role Purpose Faculty Lead for Technology nhanced Learning & Technology nhanced Learning Advisor N/A Working in conjunction with the Faculty Technology nhanced Learning (TL) Team, provide comprehensive support and technical training for academic staff and students to enhance teaching, learning and assessment activities, ensuring a high quality student experience. emonstrate the use of equipment and/or software and facilitate skill acquisition across a range of TL platforms. To support specific areas of service development and /or operation and lead specific projects as designated by the Faculty Lead for Technology nhanced Learning. General Responsibilities eliver training packages for staff across a range of platforms and software to support skill acquisition and the development of high quality, technology-enhanced LTA activities. nsuring a high quality and consistent level of service, acting responsively to understand training and support needs of staff and students and tailor approach as appropriate. Contribute to the development of self-instructional materials, documentation and other resources for both staff and students as agreed with the TL team. Respond to basic staff queries in relation to Blackboard and Pebblepad. To maintain relevant skills and knowledge to ensure delivery of high quality TL service provision. Support the TL Advisors with key activities, for example managing mobile devices. Support the Faculty TL Lead in specific project work gathering and presenting data as appropriate. Contribute to the setting of quality measures and monitoring, assisting in the implementation of TL standards and ensure they are maintained. Contribute to the development and implementation of efficient systems and processes. Recommend operational and service improvements to Faculty TL Lead, contributing ideas and suggestions to enhance TL service provision. Work collaboratively with the relevant stakeholders within IS&T, Technical and Media teams, LIS, and other University epartments to support effective TL service delivery. nsure the appropriate escalation of issues and areas of concern to the relevant manager. 4 Specific Responsibilities Provision of staff development to support good practices in relation to the use of social media within learning and teaching (L&T). Provision of in-class and online support to staff to enable the appropriate implementation of technology-enhanced approaches within L&T activities. Working with appropriate course teams to support the development of student online champions. Specific project work particularly in relation to process improvement, implementation and monitoring. Analysis of training needs and production of development materials in relation to social media. evelopment and maintenance of systems and procedures to support the use of specific platforms, namely BlackBoard and PebblePad. Working with the TL team, develop and maintain an on-going programme for staff development and training to contribute to the development of the digital skills and TL approaches required for excellent learning and teaching practices. Contribute to a training programme for staff within the TL team enabling seamless service provision and cross-cover. Working with the Faculty TL Lead, scope and plan new projects and also support on-going projects to ensure delivery to agreed timescales. eputise for the TL Advisors as required.
