1 Aerial Sports League Event Production Aerial Sports League at Maker Faire, 2015 The Aerial Sports League The Aerial Sports League (ASL) is a family-friendly event production contractor specializing in drone sports, games, installations and training programs. The ASL is the inventor of drone combat games and has been a pioneer in drone racing since its inception and are now considered the global leader in drone sports. ASL has produced drone combat games for the MGM and CES shows in Las Vegas, been a headliner and award-winner at World Maker Faire in both New York and the San Francisco Bay Area. ASL events routinely serve family audiences

2 up to 10,000 spectators. Additionally we also produce interactive drone training workshops for trade shows, entertainment events, and corporate clients such as ebay, Cal Academy of Science, Hiller Aviation Museum, and others. These training events allow interactive one-on-one training with new pilots and has proven to be a great crowd pleaser. With over 25 public events produced within the past 24 months, we maintain a 100% safety record with no injuries, damages or mishaps to persons or property. Drone Combat The ASL invented drone combat games and have been producing successful, award winning competitions and events since The ASL specializes in indoor arena games but have produced many outdoor events as well. Combat always occurs within a combat arena made from protective materials - either a clear polycarbonate box or industrial net fabric with steel support beams. The arena size is usually 20 x30 x15 tall, but can be as small as 20 x20 x10 or as large as 50 x50 x50. The net arena is surrounded by an additional safety zone of 3-10 feet separating the combat action from the spectators. The arena is typically surrounded on 3 sides by seating on risers or bleachers, accommodating audiences up to 5,000+ spectators. The fourth side usually supports the pilot zone and pit area, as well as the announcer and scorekeeping personnel.

3 Drone Training / Interactive Audience Participation One of the highlights of an Aerial Sports League event is interactivity and opportunities for audience participation. ASL has pioneered a training program for people of all ages that trains them in the basics of drone operation. Our professional trainers use small toy drones which are flown by the spectators using one-on-one instruction. Those participants who demonstrate simple piloting skills can then try more challenging activities, including drone combat, obstacle avoidance and racing games. Training can also include kiosks with flight simulators (or Sims). These kiosks include a real radio so that participants gain valuable stick time in learning how to operate drones. All interactive activities are designed with spectator safety as the priority. The drones are always flown inside the safety cage and all spectators are prohibited from entering the cage, as the trainee stays on the outside of the netted cage. Only trained ASL personnel are permitted inside the cage.

4 Audience Safety and Protection Of paramount concern is audience safety. The ASL has multiple safety procedures in place, developed from years of testing and research. These procedures include strong safety netting in front of all spectators of ANY drone activity (combat, training, freestyle). For indoor applications, netting will extend from floor to ceiling as well as across the top to prevent an unlikely flyaway. Sport drones can push the netting from 1-2 feet during an impact, therefore a roped off buffer zone is added using a short fence or velvet rope stanchions to further separate crowd from drones. For training applications, the audience members operate the controller from the outside of the netted cage, while ASL staff instructs from inside the cage. Small, toy drones are used for training which way less than 8 ounces. Carbon fibre propellers are prohibited, due to their increased risk. Only plastic and nylon composite props are allowed.

Other factors include location and possible travel and accommodations. A rough estimate is $25,000 for a local production which includes the basic elements. There are multiple ways to heighten the performance, such as lighting, video monitors, bleachers, etc. We can also create less expensive events by limiting the included components.
