1 Photography Exhibitions Professional and Emerging Photographer Prospectus and Exhibition Form 70 South Gallery Exhibitions 70 South Gallery is new, exciting place where photographers can exhibit and sell their work. It is a place where others can order prints and see the value of printing their pictures. The purpose of the exhibitions is to be a meeting place for artists and the community. It will allow people in the greater Morristown, NJ to become familiar with the new space and the services that are offered. It is a way to showcase a photographer s artwork to a larger audience. Through this display of photography, we will enhance the physical appearance of the town, increase foot traffic and promote a feeling of Morristown as a center for Art. Exhibitions at 70 South Gallery will be rotated on a schedule in order to become a source of viewing new work on a regular basis. Each Exhibition is anticipated to run for a one-to-two month timeframe. Each exhibition will be supported with press releases, print and on-line marketing and promotion of the event. PROCESS FOR SELECTION INTO AN EXHIBITION To be considered for Exhibition to the 70 South Gallery, the photographer must complete the Exhibition form below. Once the form is completed and received, the 70 South Gallery Selection Committee will select works for the exhibition by reviewing all submissions based on the selection criteria outlined below. Applicants may be requested to submit additional materials. All images and final artwork submitted must be available for display for the complete run of the exhibition. ELIGIBILITY Photographers must be at least18 years of age. All photographers who meet this eligibility requirement will have equal opportunity for being selected to participate in an exhibition at 70 South Gallery.

2 SELECTION CRITERIA Photographer s work must be in ready to display condition. Photographers are encouraged to work with 70 South Gallery to print their artwork and make ready for exhibition. 70 South Gallery will offer photographers a discount on the printing and final preparation of images by 70 South Gallery. In addition to traditional printing, we can offer options for printing on canvas or other treatments. Finally, we can offer options for the framing of each image. Finished artwork must be able to be mounted in the existing 70 South Gallery space. Photographs for exhibition will be evaluated based on the following criteria: Quality Does the artwork demonstrate excellence in originality, creativeness, and imagination? Audience Appeal Is the artwork attractive and relevant to our community? Educational Value Does the artwork inform and educate the community, bring insight to cultural, historical or social issues? Suitability Is the artwork appropriate (as determined by the Committee) for a diverse audience? SUBMISSION TO EXHIBIT PROCEDURE There is no application fee to submit consideration for Exhibition. Applicants must fill out the EXHIBITION FORM found in this prospectus. Marketability Does the artwork have market appeal for potential sale Entry form/application must be completed in full incomplete applications will not be considered for submission. Up to 5 (five) digital images (TIFF or hi-resolution JPEG format on CD or thumb drive) all reproduction quality - should accompany the Exhibition Form. It is recommended to provide the images that tie to a theme or a series. Submission must also include a short (less than one page) artist bio and statement. If selected for inclusion in an exhibition, the reproduction quality images submitted may be used in any on-line or print marketing and promotion or for press purposes. SUBMISSION TO EXHIBIT CHECKLIST 1. The Exhibition Form must be filled out, signed and dated by the prospective Photographer 2. A DVD, CD or thumb drive with images and identifying information for each image with your name printed on the DVD, CD or thumb drive must accompany the Exhibition Form. 3. A short (less than one page) artist bio and statement SUBMISSION MATERIALS Submissions will only be considered if they are digital images representing your photographic artwork. Each digital file name must conform to the following format: Photographer s name_title of work and/or original file name Digital images should be submitted on DVD, CD or thumb drive with your name printed on the DVD, CD or thumb drive. Images must be in TIFF or hi-resolution JPEG format. Each image should be highest resolution possible. DO NOT IMAGES.

3 In all submissions, sharp, accurate color reproduction is essential as selected works/images may be used in the exhibition marketing and promotion of the event. INSURANCE/SHIPPING Photographers chosen for the exhibition will be responsible for all shipping and/or delivery arrangements of their artwork both to and from the 70 South Gallery. Photographers selected for the exhibition will be notified where and when to deliver their artwork. CONDITIONS OF AGREEMENT Photographic work selected for the exhibition must remain for the duration of the exhibition. No substitution of the work may be made. By submitting this application, the Photographer grants permission to 70 South Gallery the right to reproduce entries for marketing, promotion and press of the exhibition. If a photographer s artwork is used for these purposes, it will be used with a copyright and photographer s name reference. Submission of entries will constitute an agreement to the conditions set forth between the 70 South Gallery selection committee and the photographers. If selected to Exhibit in the 70 South Gallery, each photographer will be required to sign the separate Artist/Gallery Agreement form. This form will be provided once a photographer is notified of Exhibition status. SALES All photographic artwork will be priced at the artist s discretion for sale during the exhibition. Guidance for pricing will be given by the 70 South Gallery Selection Committee. Photographs sold during the exhibition will be marked as such but will remain on view for the duration of the exhibition. The artist will receive 75% of the retail sales price. 70 South Gallery will retain 25% of the retail sale of any artwork.
