2 MA-Art Education Application Checklist Admission to the University is a two-part process that requires evaluation by both the School of Art and the Office of Admissions in Enrollment Services. All of the following materials are due on January 15th for Fall admission. Late applications will not be reviewed. University/Enrollment Services Online application found on submitted by January 15. The system will not allow applicants to file or submit applications past January 15. $55.00 application fee (paid when submitting the online application) *Please do not send the fee to the School of Art, or it will be returned to you. Official Transcripts sent to: Enrollment Services Office, Brotman Hall Bellflower Blvd., Long Beach, CA (562) or (562) International students only: TOEFL paper based score of 550, or computer based score of 213. The IELTS can be taken in place of TOEFL with a Score of 7.0. Call or the Center for International Education for Application questions: , cie-admissions@csulb.edu. School of Art School of Art MA-Art Education Application Transcripts: Official or unofficial; photocopies are acceptable Statement of Purpose: present your reasons for pursuing graduate study Two Letters of Recommendation using the Letter of Recommendation Form at Digital Portfolio of studio work acceptable in the following formats burned onto a CD or DVD. Do not attach a paper label. No thumb drives: Portfolio of JPEG images, no more than 20 total, and no larger than 800x600 pixels each, contained in a folder, and accompanied by an image list as a Microsoft Word file contained in same folder as JPEGs. Clear thumbnail images, title, medium, dimensions, and date for each work in portfolio must be provided. JPEG portfolio must be accompanied by a printed copy of the image list on 8½ X 11 paper. PDF file containing portfolio of no more than 20 images total, either with captions under each image or an image list included in the PDF. Title, medium, dimensions, and date for each work in portfolio must be provided. PDF portfolio must be accompanied by a printed image list including clear thumbnail images, complete with captions, on 8½ X 11 paper. We do NOT accept image files in formats other than JPEG or PDF. We do not accept portfolios in PowerPoint, Keynote, or other presentation software files. We do NOT accept slides or photographs. These and other original materials will NOT be returned to you. Works in film, video, or other time-based digital media, or recorded documentation of works in installation, performance, or other time-based work may be submitted via DVD portfolio. Maximum of five videos and maximum of ten minutes total. Longer works must be excerpted. QuickTime, Flash or Shockwave are the acceptable formats. Standard menu-driven DVDs may be also used. DVD submissions must be accompanied by a printed list of works that includes a thumbnail still, title, and description for each work. Send materials to: CSULB. 4 14. PREREQUISITE COURSES Prerequisites must be given in semester units. For quarter units: figure 2/3 of quarter unit total = semester unit total. A. List all UPPER DIVISION (300/400 or Junior/Senior level) or higher level courses taken as an undergraduate (or graduate) student in Art, Education, and Art Education. At least 15 units are required. Total Semester units, part A: B. UPPER DIVISION ART ELECTIVES (courses outside your major or specialization). At least 9 units are required. Total Semester units, part B: C. ART HISTORY. A minimum of 12 units of are required. 6 units may be LOWER DIVISION and 6 units must be UPPER DIVISION or higher.
