1 Riddell District FNL Football & Netball Operations Manager Responsible to: Reporting to: Direct Reports: Commercial & Regional Operations Manager Regional General Manager, AFL Goldfields Commercial & Regional Operations Manager Regional General Manager, AFL Goldfields & RDFNL Board of Directors RDFNL Trainee, SEDA and Workplace Students Definitions: RDFNL Riddell District Football Netball League Inc AFLG AFL Goldfields FNOM Football and Netball Operations Manager RRGM AFL Goldfields Regional General Manager CROM AFL Goldfields Commercial and Regional Operations Manager Board RDFNL Board of Directors JDO RDFNL Junior Development Officer FDM RDFNL Football Development Manager NM AFL Goldfields Netball Manager KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES: The position includes, but is not limited to, the following duties. In many cases, a duty will necessitate consultation with the appropriate fellow staff member and board member. 1.0 ADMINISTRATION Oversee the conduct and administration of all Junior (Under Age) and Senior (incorporating Senior and Reserve grade) Football and Netball competitions for the RDFNL. In consultation with the Chairman and Commercial & Regional Operations Manager (CROM) and RGM, prepare Agendas and Minutes for Board meetings, Senior and Junior President meetings and other meetings from time to time. Process all Football Registrations and Clearances. Produce the RDFNL Club Information Book and Operations Manual. Manage the input of all relevant data in the Fox Sports Pulse system. Establish and maintain high class record and file storage systems for the RDFNL. Maintenance and protection of RDFNL Office Supplies, Assets including Information Technology assets & programs. In conjunction with the CROM & RGM, conduct regular stocktakes and place paperwork, stationary, football, netball and other equipment orders as required. Oversee the office space at RDFNL House to ensure all stakeholders and staff are adhering to the AFLG clean office policy. Manage the RDFNL House Operations including purchases, cleaning, key system etc.

2 2.0 HOME & AWAY COMPETITION Liaise with affiliated clubs, AFL Victoria and Netball Victoria to maintain effective working relationships. Make recommendations to the Board for rule changes and adaptations. Arrange annual fixtures (Senior and Junior) in conjunction with the RGM and the Director of Operations. Liaise with the Riddell Umpires Association (RUA) regarding competition requirements and any issues that may arise from time to time. Arrange for weekly results to be processed, circulated to the media and presented on the relevant internet sites and any issues dealt with. Facilitate the establishment and conduct of tribunal hearings, Match Review Panels and Investigations as they arise. Facilitate the organisation of the weekly filming of Senior Football matches. Update the RDFNL Website & Team App platform to ensure all content is informative, current and correct. Invoice clubs for match fines and sanctions as they occur. Collate all award votes, allocations etc. In conjunction with the CROM & RGM and Board, review and amend Football and Netball By-Laws, RDFNL policies and procedures etc. Oversee the production of all RDFNL Publications e.g Annual Report, Football Record, Passes, Match Day Paperwork etc. 3.0 FINALS COMPETITION Plan and co-ordinate RDFNL Senior and Junior Finals Series. Negotiate the usage and management of venues and facilities with local councils, host clubs and related bodies. Arrange gatekeepers, ground managers, security, ground access etc Arrange suitable Umpires with RUA and NM. Arrange appropriate cash handling and ticketing procedures for the collection and banking of gate receipts. Arrange various final functions as required media launch, Grand Final luncheons, etc. Organise the purchase of all awards. 4.0 INTERLEAGUE / REPRENTATIVE PROGRAMS Co-ordinate all Senior and Junior Football and Netball Interleague programs. Assist the CROM with the AFL Goldfields representative programs Arrange the logistics of match day, training and travel requirements of Senior and Junior Teams. Negotiate the usage and management of venues and facilities with local council, host clubs and leagues for training and match day. Co-ordinate the appointment of coaches, match committees, managers, trainers and medical staff for all teams. Arrange catering and host functions where necessary.

3 Establish a communication network and communicate programs and policies to relevant parties. Arrange training programs as required by coaches and match committees including training venues, catering, apparel and merchandise. Prepare a budget for each individual Interleague Program in conjunction with the CROM & RGM. Ensure all Netball Victoria and AFL Victoria requirements are met & adhered to. E.g. submission of Match returns, badging on jumpers and apparel, etc. Co-ordinate the Junior Football Interleague Program with the JDO including setting up training, match day and presentations. Co-ordinate the Junior Netball Interleague Program with the Netball Director and NM. Liaise with AFL Victoria Staff and Leagues the guidelines and requirements for Junior Interleague matches and championships. Plan, co-ordinate and implement the RDFNL Junior Football Academy in conjunction with the JDO, Junior Football Director and FDM. Liaise with Calder Cannons and Western Jets Football Clubs on venue usage, program coordination and elite player pathways. 5.0 EDUCATION & TRAINING Promote and communicate Level 1, 2 and 3 coaching courses. Conduct meetings, forums and briefing sessions where necessary. In conjunction with the AFLG Trainers Association, conduct annual trainer s course and coordinate the activities of the AFLG Trainers Association. Assist and support AFL Victoria to ensure that all AFL Vic Training and information sessions are supported. Assist and support Netball Victoria to ensure that all Netball Victoria Training and information sessions are supported. 6.0 RISK MANAGEMENT Ensure all required Risk Management requirements are met. These include o Pre season and regular season Risk Management inspections of all RDFNL venues o Submission of appropriate Risk Management paperwork as per Insurer s requirements. E.g. Match Day checklist 7.0 FUNCTIONS / EVENTS In consultation with the CROM, plan and co-ordinate the following functions: Season Launch, Bowen Ryan Medal night, Junior Football and Netball Presentation Night, Senior Pre-Season competition (if applicable), Junior Lightning Premiership competitions (if applicable), RDFNL Golf Day and any AFLG Events that are jointly run by the RDFNL. 8.0 MARKETING Assist the RGM and CROM to identify Marketing and Sponsorship opportunities for the RDFNL. Assist and develop Sponsorship proposals and Marketing opportunities for the RDFNL.

4 Assist the RGM and CROM in developing and maintaining relationships with RDFNL corporate partners. Be able to identify new sponsorship and marketing opportunities for the RDFNL. Play a key role in assisting the RGM in ensuring the RDFNL does achieve budgetary position on an annual basis in the areas of Sponsorship, Events, etc. Assist the CROM with issuing Media Releases as required to promote the RDFNL in a positive light. Media releases should cover all competitions across football and netball. Assist the CROM and any Media Partners in coordinating and producing Web TV Shows. Update the RDFNL Website to ensure all content is informative, current and correct. 9.0 OTHER Responsible for the security of RDFNL assets. Liaison with Finance Director, RGM and AFLG Accounts Manager to ensure payment and processing of all accounts as and when they fall due. Assist with preparation & processing of RDFNL Accounts Receivable & Payable, General Ledger, Debtor Reconciliation, Bank Reconciliations, etc. Establish and maintain Archiving of all RDFNL Records RDFNL SHOP / FOOTYMART BALLARAT Oversee the operation of the RDFNL Shop and assist with RDFNL club orders through FootyMart Ballarat. Supply the AFLG Accounts Manager with information on items purchased and contact details for debtors for the purpose of invoicing. In conjunction with the RGM and CROM, assist with the development and maintenance of commercial arrangements with suppliers. This includes licensing agreements for all RDFNL Shop products. Establish and maintain accurate records and archiving of all purchases through the RDFNL Shop 11.0 KEY SELECTION CRITERIA & PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES Excellent verbal and written communication and public relations skills. Experience and skills in developing & conducting presentations, training courses, etc. Computer literacy to a high level, include Word Processing, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft applications, Website Editing and data entry skills. Ability to work flexible hours, with excellent time management skills and prioritising skills. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team. Ability & willingness to work long hours, often for several weeks straight during peak (e.g finals) periods. Possess a high level of organisational skills. A genuine interest in football and netball, with a desire to lead growth and further development of the RDFNL brand. Solid understanding of the environment of Community Football and Netball Clubs. Financial management skills, with experience in preparing and understanding financial reports. A knowledge of MYOB would be beneficial.

5 Current Victorian Drivers license. An enthusiastic and positive outlook CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT Remuneration A salary package will be negotiated with the successful applicant depending upon experience and skills. Incentives related to the growth and development of the RDFNL will be considered after the initial 12 months of employment. An initial 3 month probationary period applies. An annual review process regarding performance will be undertaken. Hours of Employment The successful candidate will need to be flexible in regard to hours of employment. With particular reference to the football and netball season, weekend work and attendance at evening meetings will be required. Other The position is based at the RDFNL House, 20 Long Tree Drive, Melton West. There will be occasional need to work from AFL Goldfields Head Office, Saxon House, 1431 Mair Street, Ballarat.
