Because Dodge signed a contract last year before the resort fees increased, if you book inside the Dodge Room Block, the resort fee will only be $25. Resort Fees are per night and include daily in-room high speed internet access for one device, all local calls, and daily fitness center access for two. Dodge rates at the Flamingo shown below do not include that charge. RATES: Run of House: $85/night/person. Rates are for single/double occupancy and do not include applicable taxes and fees. $30 additional per person per night for 3rd and 4th person. Reservations can be made online at: or directly with the hotel by calling and refer to group code SFDOD6. (Please note: The hotel assesses a $15 processing fee to your reservation when made via the telephone call center. We suggest you use the dedicated weblink so that you are not assessed this fee.) 5 2016 Speakers and Topics ~ Las Vegas, NV JACK ADAMS, CFSP has over 50 years of funeral service experience. In addition to representing The Dodge Company in Northern Illinois, he is a member of The Dodge Company embalming research staff, author of many embalming articles that appear in The Dodge Magazine, an Embalming Lab Instructor at Worsham College, and a very popular technical presenter. You Only Have One Chance Parts 1 & 2: In this two part program, Jack will share with attendees the needed tools so that they can help families understand the true value of their services, from the initial arrangement conference to the professional and reverent care rendered in preparation room. The bottom line is that as funeral service practitioners, you only have one chance to get it right regardless of the original condition of the remains. Jack will also help attendees recognize potential problems and what to do to stop them before they cause failure. CHRIS AGUILAR is the Dodge Company representative in Southeast Texas. He is a graduate of Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science and has been a licensed funeral director and embalmer in Texas since Delayed Embalming Challenges: Chris will show attendees first-hand how to deal with embalming and caring for individuals who have been dead over thirty-five days and for when families request that their loved one be held for months following the initial viewing. Attendees will learn the skills and the knowledge to observe key signs of distribution and how to overcome unresponsive tissues. TOM BUIST has been a licensed funeral director and embalmer for over 30 years. He holds a certification in eye enucleation and corneal excisions. Tom worked for York Great Lakes as a sales representative, lecturer, and trainer before joining The Dodge Company as a sales representative in Michigan. Don t Let Your Guard Down Keeping Yourself Safe in the Prep Room: Tom will help attendees understand exactly what it takes to insure optimum safety in the prep room regardless of the cause and manner of death and also how shortcuts can result in dangerous situations for the embalmer. Some subjects Tom will touch-on are the new Safety Data Sheets, OSHA and state-imposed occupational safety and health regulations, and the use of PPE. One of the Toughest Parts of the Job...Embalming & Cosmetizing Infants: Treating infants is one of the toughest parts of the job Tom will cover how to achieve a positive outcome along with how to apply cosmetics to create a good memory picture for those grieving parents. 6 2016 Speakers and Topics ~ Las Vegas, NV KEN COLLINS is a licensed funeral director and embalmer in the state of Tennessee and has been the Dodge Company representative in Tennessee since Ken studied biology at TN Tech University before completing studies at Mid-American College of Funeral Service. He has been a member of numerous funeral service associations. The Chemistry of Embalming: Ken will help attendees better understand chemical constituents and components, things you should have learned in an advanced embalming class years ago, and why you need to know these important things today. He ll explore the advantages of knowing how and why chemical ingredients work. Because if you don t know the chemical how can you properly treat the problem? TIM COLLISON, CFSP is a licensed funeral director and embalmer in the State of Michigan. In addition to holding the position of Vice President of Sales & Marketing for Dodge, he participates in the company s Research and Product Development Program, is a regular presenter at the Dodge Seminars, and has authored series of articles on embalming cosmetology in The Dodge Magazine. Choosing the Right Cosmetic: During this presentation, Tim will describe and demonstrate the best uses for various mortuary cosmetics based on their formulations and the desired effect of the cosmetic application. In addition to choosing the right cosmetic, Tim will go over brush selection and preparation of the skin surfaces before cosmetics are applied. KARL WENZEL, CFSP, MBIE is the Coordinator of Technical Education and Training for The Dodge Company as of September Karl worked for the Arbor Group (largest independent funeral service chain in Canada) for 6 years as their Manager of Decedent Care and Preparational Development prior to joining Dodge. Karl has been a licensed embalmer since 1997 and is licensed in Ontario. Karl is the Fountain National Academy Canadian Ambassador. Mastering Minor to Major Reconstructive Skills Parts 1 & 2: In this two part program, Karl will help attendees master techniques for waxing and skills to cover lip blemishes, lesions, and minor abrasions. He ll cover techniques required in treating cases requiring bone placement and bodies that have died in disaster situations with emphasis on facial reconstruction.
