2 LITERACY in MUSIC Music in schools: promoting good practic - guidanc from HMI for tachrs and had tachrs. - Ofstd 2012 It is always important that tachrs promot pupils' litracy and numracy skills, and rading in particular, across all aras of th curriculum. Howvr, whr good musical taching and larning tak plac, th dvlopmnt of pupils' musical skills and undrstanding is th primary considration. Litracy and numracy skills should always b considrd, but also always as appropriat to and in support of musical larning. Pupils should b incrasing thir knowldg of music through ngagmnt with musical sound, supportd by acquiring furthr vrbal knowldg about music.
