Your full-time study programme which is funded by the government will be FREE for most students who are aged on 31 August Please see our fees & discounts leaflet for details, or call Aged You may not have to pay course fees if you are claiming certain benefits or studying your first full level 2 or 3 course (conditions apply). Traineeships are also fully funded by the Skills Funding Agency (SFA) for year olds. If you do pay fees, you may be entitled to financial help from college towards payment of fees, travel costs, childcare, residential fees or equipment required for your course (conditions apply). You may not have to pay course fees if you are studying a course up to and including level 2 and claiming certain benefits (conditions apply). Course fees at Wirral Met College include tuition and examination fees, unless otherwise stated. For students aged 24 and above studying level 3 or level 4, course fees will apply. Financial help for fees 24+ Advanced Learning Loans give students in further education access to financial support for tuition costs (from the Student Loans Company). 24+ Advanced Learning Loans are available to students studying level 3 or level 4 courses, for example BTEC Level 3, NVQ Level 3 and Access to Higher Education courses. If the loan is for an Access to Higher Education course and you subsequently go on to complete a higher education course you won t have to pay back your 24+ Advanced Learning Loan. Loan repayments apply once you have completed your course and earn over 21,000. Most students aged 24 and over, studying at level 3 or level 4, will qualify for 24+ Advanced Learning Loan. It s easy to apply, your household income isn t taken into account and there are no credit checks. See page 7 to see if you qualify for free tuition. Our course fees at Wirral Met College include tuition and examination fees, unless otherwise stated. Please see the table on page 7, but note, this table does not apply to courses designated as Higher Education or Full Price, as no funding is received from the Education Funding Agency/Skills Funding Agency (EFA/SFA) for these courses. If you pay fees You can pay for your fees by credit or debit card, cheque or cash. All students paying their own fees will be expected to make a contribution to the enrolment fee at the time they enrol (enrolments at Conway Park or Twelve Quays only). This will be 80 or the full balance, if this is less than 80. Please note that if no fees are payable on your course, you will not be expected to make a payment. Motorcycle Technology choose to a motorcycle mechanic Andrew studied Level 3 Motorcycle Engineering at Wirral Met College. Andrew won the IMI Outstanding Technical Student for Motorcycle, awarded by HRH Prince Michael of Kent. Fee Payment Options Pay total fee at enrolment; Make initial payment at enrolment, and then pay the balance within two weeks; Make initial payment at enrolment, then pay remaining balance by direct debit instalments. (Failure to meet a direct debit instalment will result in the full balance of fees becoming due immediately); Students whose fees are sponsored by employers, agents, local authorities or other organisations must provide written evidence of this at enrolment. A letter must contain contact details of who will pay the fees, and the address where the invoice should be sent. In the absence of this evidence, the enrolling student will be liable for fees. When an employer or other agency agrees to pay these fees, they become liable for them in full. 4 5

4 Course fees & discounts continued In addition, funding is available for individuals aged 19 and over who are studying on the day they start Trade Union Congress (TUC) aims, and individuals aged 24 and over who have served in the British Armed Forces in the last 10 years after completing 4 or more years service or who have been medically discharged. Serving members of the British Armed Forces may also be entitled to funding. Further details are available from Student Services. Health & Social Care choose to a clinical support worker Mary-Ann completed a Traineeship at Wirral Met College and is now studying an Intermediate Apprenticeship in Healthcare Support and working as an apprentice at Wirral University Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. If you are an overseas student, your fees will be assessed separately, so please seek further advice from Student Services on : Fees quoted are for each year, except for prices quoted for Level 3 courses in the 24+ fee column, which are for the duration of the course. *Accepted proof of identification includes: bank/ debit card; National Insurance card or letter; driving licence; ID card/national ID; passport; proof of eligibility to benefits. Call now for details and to arrange your skills check. An apprenticeship allows you to develop your skills, knowledge and your career, whilst gaining qualifications. You will be employed by a company and get paid from the day you start. Wirral Met College works with employers to offer apprenticeships to suit most career paths across a variety of sectors, ranging from Accountancy and Engineering to Optical Retail and Property Services. The Intermediate Apprenticeship at level 2 equates to 5 GCSEs (A*-C) and the Advanced Level Apprenticeship at level 3 equates to 2 A Levels. You may then be able to progress to Higher Apprenticeships at level 4, as appropriate. If English is not your first language? Additional Learning Support The Additional Learning Support team support students to be as successful as possible. We have a team of over 60 highly trained and qualified staff, including Specialist Tutors, Communication Support Workers and Learning Support Assistants. We work with students in every subject area, and at every level from Entry Level to Higher Education. Employer Services Our Employer Services team is professional, highly qualified and experienced at working with businesses to identify and support corporate training requirements, sourcing funding and designing training to suit your business needs.
