All the programmes are free if you are 16 to 18, and was 16 years old by 31st August If you are aged over 19 years and would like to apply for any of the courses advertised in this programme please feel free to contact us. Money and Help Bursaries If you are aged between 16 and 19 years and think you may struggle with the costs for full-time training you may receive a bursary of up to 1,200 each academic year. Speak to staff to find out more. Post 16 Transport Northumberland County Council operates a free student travel scheme to help students aged 16 to 19 access further education. An eligibility criteria is set out in the application form. There's more to life at Northumberland Adult Learning Service than just getting your qualification. 36 NewExperiences Sports Leadership Level 1 and Level 2 Award Sports Leaders UK provides nationally recognised leadership awards and qualifications that help people develop essential life skills such as organisation, motivation, communication and working with others. All of the awards and qualifications are practical learners learn by doing rather than through written work. And, we don't do exams assessment is made upon a learner's ability to lead and demonstrate their leadership skills for a certain period of time, within a specific setting. You don't need to be sports stars or prima ballerinas instead an interest in your chosen activity, a positive attitude and a willingness to volunteer are all that is required. 36

Art Experience You can choose between certificates in Art or certificates in Craft and Design. By being able to access these qualifications you will be encouraged to develop a skillbased approach to art, focusing on the mastery of transferable skills. The fun is in the flexibility of you being able to select the topics to demonstrate the required skills. You will undertake art investigations which exploit your experience of a range of materials, tools, techniques and processes. You will develop your knowledge and understanding of how visual language is interpreted in a range of contexts, informing your own creative practice.
