3 UCCESS SUCCESS SUCCESS STORIES: WORLDSKILLS UK Worldskills UK is a career/trade based skills competition bringing together the Nation s flagship skills and careers experiences. Students from New College Lanarkshire competed at the highest level in the 2014 event and topped the overall leaderboard with 4 gold medal winners. At NCL you will be able to aim high, achieve great things and become the person you want to be! ANDREW BEEL Mechanical Engineering:CAD Andrew (also pictured centre) is in training as part of Squad UK having excelled in the WorldSkills UK National Skills Competitions. As part of his training programme he competed in Team UK at EuroSkills Lille 2014 where he won gold in Mechanical Engineering CAD. Andrew will now compete for a place to represent the UK at WorldSkills São Paulo NEW COLLEGE LANARKSHIRE BEST IN THE UK NEIL PARDOE Advanced Network Infrastructure Technician Neil Pardoe from Chapelhall, took home gold for Advanced Network Infrastructure Technician. JACK SCOTT Network Systems Administrator Jack Scott from Kilsyth, secured the fourth gold in Network Systems Administrator. The 24-year-old, from Bellshill, has now graduated and is working with Peter Campbell Sales in Chapelhall after impressing on a work placement. SHONA MCGARRITY IT Software Solutions for Business Shona McGarrity from Biggar, took home gold in the IT Software Solutions for Business Open Level. This was her second medal at WorldSkills UK after winning silver for New College Lanarkshire last year. 4 6 AMPUSES CAMPUSES OUR CAMPUSES Our campuses are spread out across North and South Lanarkshire housing our many courses, so no matter where you live, we should have a campus pretty close to you. We have invested in the latest technology and have unique facilities, all of which are important to enhance the experience of our learners. CUMBERNAULD CAMPUS Formerly Cumbernauld College Situated in the centre of town, our Cumbernauld Campus is close to many local amenities including the Tryst Sports Centre, Broadwood Stadium, Cumbernauld Theatre and the town centre shopping complex. The campus has also been renovated and extended, and now includes a variety of impressive facilities to enhance your student experience. The Campus is 1 mile from Cumbernauld train station and approximately 1.5 miles from Greenfaulds train station. Broadwood Campus At Broadwood Stadium, only 5 minutes by car from the main Cumbernauld Campus, we have our very own specialist sports campus where our Sports Performance courses are held. As well as top class sporting facilities, there is also a gym and purpose-built classrooms. Our Sports Performance courses are led by sport professionals. Kirkintilloch Campus Kirkintilloch Campus is situated in a prime location on the banks of The Forth and Clyde Canal, adjacent to Kirkintilloch Town Centre. It forms part of the Southbank Business and Leisure Park that focuses on tourism, business, education and leisure. Courses held here include Hairdressing and Computing. Kirkintilloch Campus is approximately 1 mile from Lenzie train station. MOTHERWELL CAMPUS Formerly Motherwell College The new 70million, 200,000sq ft campus in Motherwell opened in August 2009 and is our largest campus with fantastic facilities. Motherwell Campus is 1 mile from Shieldmuir Station and 2 miles from Motherwell and Airbles train stations. Hamilton Towers Our first campus in South Lanarkshire is right in the centre of town in Hamilton, only half a mile walk from Hamilton Central train station. Courses here include Counselling, Computing and Computer Aided Draughting and Design. COATBRIDGE CAMPUS Formerly Coatbridge College The Coatbridge campus is situated in the centre of Coatbridge, close to many local amenities and within walking distance of the town centre.
