3 Welcome Here at the College of North West London, we deliver a wide range of vocational courses on our school links programme. We deliver fully accredited programmes with many teachers who are experts in their fields. There is also a team of Young Learner Support Workers dedicated to supporting & improving the success rates of our Year olds. Choosing to study with us means gaining valuable qualifications and a taste of what to expect in employment. It is also a fantastic stepping stone to future work, apprenticeships or study. We work in close partnership with local schools to deliver the most appropriate, creative and interesting courses we can. As a result, we can offer young people a valuable chance to move more quickly towards their chosen careers and to study in a more mature environment. HELEN CRABTREE Link Manager Success starts here Our provision is well-established with client schools and LEAs across north and west London. Over half of our students progress to full-time courses with us after Year 11, with the majority of those that do not going on to other college and sixth forms. Our annual achievement ceremony is an occasion when learners, with their schools and families, get to celebrate the work and success of the year. Special awards are given to students with exceptional achievement by the College s Principal, Andy Cole. 3

15 Discrete Courses Specifically Designed for a School s Requirements Here at the College of North West London, we have a history of successfully running a range of courses specifically designed to meet the needs of a group of students & help them gain the most appropriate qualifications possible. Schools can either commission a whole group or join together with another school to create a group together. Courses could last two years, a year or just a term with students spending anywhere between half a day and a full week in college dependent on the sponsor s wishes. We are currently having great success with our groups from mainstream schools, specialist schools & Education authorities in Brent, Harrow & Camden. Some of these groups specialise in a particular Vocational Qualification such as Construction, Building Crafts, Beauty Therapy or Health & Social Care BTECs, whilst others have opted the BTEC in Vocational Studies which allows students to study units in a range of vocational fields. Yet other sponsors commission us to run courses specific to need such as ESOL courses or literacy & numeracy courses. Subject areas we cover are English as a Second Language Hair & Beauty Catering Media Health & Social care Childcare Science Computing Business Construction Services Motor Vehicle Engineering Electrical Engineering Typically, a group of 12 students would cost around 15,000-20,000 per year for one day per week over a year, dependent on the type of course you require To discuss the setting up of a discrete group, please contact Helen Crabtree Links Manager helen.crabtree@cnwl.ac.uk 15
