1 Release Ntes: NvaBACKUP 17.5 NvaBACKUP (February, 2016) Backup fr the Rest f Us What s new in NvaBACKUP 17.5? New Features NvaBACKUP Enhanced creatin f Image Backup jbs such that incremental and differential jbs can be flexibly defined and scheduled befre the first full backup jb has run. Enhanced Image backups (a.k.a. disaster recvery) nw cnveniently assignable t NAS device destinatins Backup client can use either.net Framewrks versins 3.5 r 4.X, whichever is already installed, thus reducing the need fr setup t install an alternate versin. Imprved Errr Handling: Mre infrmatin prvided, and reduced false negatives create an imprved user experience. Fixed issues / bugs ( ) Demte sme errr messages t infrmatinal, and remve several "false negatives" altgether. Specifically: DR retentin jbs are nt classified as failed if a lg file cannt be remved, the cause f syslg.txt rename errrs has been fixed, and snapcmd n lnger lgs an errr caused by trying t access a nn-existent message file. Virtual Dashbard fixed t nt allw the selectin f HyperV VM's running n Windws 10 since this is nt a supprted cnfiguratin. Clicking n an empty flder in the restre view thrws an errr. GUI may crash if a large number f jb lgs are retained n the Lgs tab. When duble-byte characters are entered int the Explanatin prtin f the scheduled setting fr hlidays and then saved, the texts cme up garbled. When attempting t backup/cpy t a netwrk path with duble-byte characters in the path, the prcess fails. Backup being ran n a Hliday when it shuld nt be when a jb is cnfigured thrugh the wizard. Backup jb failed if destinatin was a NAS drive and the user accunt used an empty passwrd.

In rder t back up Micrsft Hyper-V virtual machines, yu will need t have NvaBACKUP Business Essentials installed n the Hyper-V Hst Operating System. Backing up Virtual Machines (VMware vsphere) Yu will need NvaBACKUP installed n a machine (Physical r Virtual) with a supprted perating system and yur VMware vsphere installatin requires the vstrage API. The machine that NvaBACKUP is installed n t needs t have netwrk cnnectivity t yur VMware vsphere server. NvaBACKUP may be installed n a Virtual Machine but will nt be able t directly back up its wn Virtual Machine. NvaBACKUP Virtual Dashbard Requirements NvaBACKUP Virtual Dashbard, Backing up and Restring Virtual Machines with the ability t restre individual files, and Replicatin have separate system requirements than ther parts f the prduct.
